- The two dogs pull the FireAnt on various roads and trails at a steady trot. The shepherd's gait is different from the labradoodle's because he has hip dysplasia. I never got this into production. What I do sell is sulkies. These cost $2,000USD. You can see them at www.chalosulky.com. The sulky weighs less, is stronger and actually more fun.

@@The_Daliban I do ship to Germany. Or rather, I have shipped to Ireland, UK, Switzerland - one time each. Never yet to Germany. By the way I am having a bamboo sulky made by Viet Bamboo Bike and the owner studied automotive engineering in Germany.

I have 5 stray dogs and they are the crazy energy type and i live next to a forrest that’s why i was looking for trikes and sulkies.a sulky seems to be more comfortable.
Is there a way to keep the dogs from running all over the place or do i need to teach them?
Did you train your dogs to run in the sulky?
And one last thing.do you recommend the suspension sulky for forrest paths?i guess so:)

Actually, I am taking no measures. Their feet are plenty tough enough for the travel that we do.

My best pulling dog has hip dysplasia. The pulling keeps his hip muscles strong.

I think the value is the trotting as compared to jumping and twisting. My dysplastic dog mostly pulls on dirt since I live in the country but one of our routes is a mile and a half of pavement.
@@DaphneLewis as someone with arthritis in my hips and sacroiloic joint, watching him haul your weight and thru the media changes still kills me.... I'm sure you take good care of your dogs... just... ack.

Are they using their backs to pull?
The harness is the style that mushers use: the swish harness. The chest strap pulls against the breastbone. I would say that yes, they pull with their back and there is little weight on top of their backs. Just the weight of the aluminum shaft and the cross piece.
Daphne Lewis I want to train my dog to pull, but I've read that dogs aren't designed to pull using their backs, and my dog has a very learn and long back. Are there other harness designs?
They have to pull with their backs. What they don't do is carry weight ON their backs. Of course they do carry weight when they carry back packs (saddle bags) All dog harnesses have the dog push into the harness (breast harness and swish harness). Of course they push with their bodies and their bodies hang on their spine.
