I have seen this before on a camry of a nice little grandma and she drove over 50 miles but was missing so little oil you couldn't tell off the stick, but it looked like an oil massacre under the hood. I was thinking this subie would be ok as long as they didn't ride the RPMs high... but ~quart left in the engine is crazy.
SOME car makers do it RIGHT by adding a baffle just underneath the oil cap and avoiding splattering and losing oil when the cap is not on! Some others even have GOOD oil pressure monitoring/warning sensors!
This accidentally happened to me once when I topped off my car. There was a noticable loss of power so i opened the hood and saw the cap was missing. Luckily I didnt go too far without it.
Hi I been watching your videos on the 2.5 engine and I have a really bad oil leak that only seem to show it’s self when the car is started it drains all of the oil out of the car I been searching everywhere for answers and seem to find nothing
I usually have to pay extra to get covered in oil.

it is amazing it lasted a long drive with the cap off was that all one trip no stops ?
I wish we knew exactly how far, and I don't know when it "shut off" or where. They may have had it towed quite a distance.
