Still use my super soniq, still hits like a train, rolls awesome and suits me with mid/high revs and high speed

It rolls a little similar in a strong way to the Sure Lock even though of course the complete difference is this is Symmetrical while the Sure Lock is Assymmetrical.

You know, I feel like we've almost seen this before in the OG iQ (not tour). Near identical core and a strong gritty cover. It was a dud, sales-wise. It's funny because I know we have talked about whether they would release something like this.
After listening to you talk and watching your shots I am split. Was this really a needed piece between the physix and the Soniq? It seems like the 2 would play together without the super being needed.
I'm not sure. We haven't had a hybrid in the Master line since the IQ Tour Fusion, and that HD core is REALLY good, so I think it was a math thing more than anything. It does feel a bit redundant with everything else that's out there right now, so I'm not sure.

Are we gonna get a report card on super soniq ever!? I was just wondering if you had an idol pearl like experience with it. I had a lot of issues and hated it when I got it but as it shined up I love it. I can keep my angles closed now and it has tamed down from the oob finish and is really fallen into a super controlled 1 ball in my bag. Glad I stuck with it, still love the physix but with my high rev rate the physix I’m finding is almost too much ball unless specific conditions are met.
Probably not . . I got busy over the summer and it's one of the ones I didn't get to, but that core and I just don't get along. I liked the Son!Q, had two of them, but couldn't ever get it to shape right, and I knew the Super was just going to be too much to begin with. I just don't need something that early, heavy rolling and smooth. It looks great for literally everyone else I watch throw it though LOL. Austin Boulds from The Bowler's Fix is a big fan of his, but he's a lot better than I am HA!!
Wonder how comparable this is to the new Summit...
Summit should be similar but a fair amount stronger.
Hey Luke what're your thoughts on this compared to a Hyroad Nano? Need something to pair with my idol pearl but can't see a need for a big asym ball at this time. Some wet dry blend would be nice with versatility, was thinking a hybrid of some kind.
Might look at the Winner Solid to be quite honest. Hyroad Nano has been discontinued, was good, but the Winner Solid has been flying under the radar, and I think it deserves some attention.
Luke, I've been exclusively Storm/Roto for a few years now and I know I'm late to the party on this one but I just recently got my hands on an Eternal Cell. Love the ball feels like a rolly benchmark type ball. Does the Super share similarities in your mind to the Eternal? Or which newer Storm/Roto give that similar shape? Just for comparisons sake. Thank you.

Luke I'm tired of throwing Ebonite... Which storm/roto ball is most like the GB3 hybrid? Especially regarding core because I carry well with it.
@Duncan Whitaker ty much... I have an Idol... Guess I just need to find a storm /roto that blends the pattern like a gb3... In all fairness the GB3 is a 12.7 hybrid with enhanced v2 core...
I have a gb3 and a hy road nano with the same layout they are pretty much the same for strength but the gb3 is a little snappier at the break point where the nano is just really smooth the nano is definitely a ball that will smooth out the pattern like the gb3

Actually, Duncan, the GB3 is a hybrid of the GB 12.7 cover.
Luke was wondering what a good replace ment for the roto grip rush would be really liked mine and it was super versatile but it's old and the bridge is gone now so it's time to retire it I was going to replace with a hammer 2001 the we have but i wanted to get your opinion

Hi, I am looking for a replacement for my Optimus Solid (I know I am one of 5 people that like that ball). I tried the super soniq today at a tryout and loved it. I am a bit weirded ou that it is mostly pearl, but looked like my Optimus. Do you see any issued with the pearl component and having a great read and control on tougher conditions? The other ball I was looking at to replace my Optimus is the phaze 2, which one would fit the high end symmetric solid role in my bag better.

Phaze 2 would be the best Optimus Solid replacement by quite a bit, it's like a better OS

Would the Halo Pearl be better than the Crux Prime for a lower Rev bowler?
Really depends on your speed, if you have higher speed I'd go for this one, if you have lower speed I'd go for the Prime

How does this compare to the Roto Grip DDT?
This one is actually earlier and stronger overall, but fairly similar shape.
What is the main difference between this and the original soniq ?

@@LukeRosdahl thx that great. btw. do to my low rew i go with stong balls and it works for me. not always logic match up so i wonder if you know what is strongest ball i can get. atm halo is the only strong ball i have. i like something that hooks alot and one for heavy oil. i used the old stike zone on dry 35 fett one and made my best day ever. can name a some of totaly stongest balls i can get ? what brand i dont care, i need somthing strong.

I have the Iqtour Fusion and cruix pearl and joyride. I was bowling pretty heavy 3years ago as those were the balls to get for different patterns. Looking to replace the fusion for medium oil. I roll mostly after hours with medium to low oil. If anyone can help thank you
Hard to replace the Fusion because it was a fairly unique motion, I'm not sure we have anything out right now that replaces it. Maybe the next hybrid for Roto will do it, we're due for a hybrid in both the HP2 and HP3 lines

You throw the ball so much differently (worse) when playing straighter than when covering a lot of boards. Not criticism, just suggesting you should practice playing more direct lines to get more comfortable with them
I'm comfortable playing straight, it's just that with as aggressive as these balls are and as dry as the outside of the pattern is, I basically have to fall out of or dump the ball to get it down the lane. When I move left I have more head oil to play with, so naturally it's going to look better or more comfortable. Just trying to show what I have to do to make the ball playable from that line, and both of the new ones are super aggressive, there's just no slow and easy with as much hook that's further right, and it doesn't have anything to do with practice, it has to do with that being an unplayable line with those balls, and that's what playing the different zones is intended to illustrate. So you're reading it right, just came to the wrong conclusion.

Has Angel tried this ball?
Yeah, her video is coming next weekend, just haven't had time to get it done. She sees virtually the same thing I do though, review won't be much different.
As a low rev straighter bowler, am curious about this, but sounds like a dud for you.
I just don't need anything that rolls so heavy and early, and it's too smooth for Angel. Has looked good at demos for some people but I think it's going to be hit and miss.
