Watching the video after drilling a proton 80x4 1/4x60 and it was the best ball on dragon. Threw a nice 9 bagger - back 7 and front 2 with it. Closest hooking ball I had was an oob halo pearl and it didn’t hook. Left handed, so there is no define shape as there is on the right. Line used was 25 and hitting 15 break point maybe 12 and the proton dug in. Recommend it for anyone needed an oiler. It’s very impressive.
Most hookingest ball for me is the Hammer Black Widow 2.0. Got mine 55 x 5 x 35. The only ball in my bag that I can consistently move way left and throw it to the right gutter, it will always get back!
My bigger hook ball is jackal ghost and i love it... but i want a little bit more.. what do you recommend? Proton? Crux prime? I think a really like proton..
Strongest hooking Ball i have or ever had: Motiv Trident Abyss.. That ball is pretty strong and smooth. I would swap it for a Proton but its still good so no need yet.. maybe in 1-2 years.. but then there will be something even crazier from storm like always.. :D

Considered the Omega Crux, but opted for the Electrify Hybrid and Tropical Surge for drier conditions. That RST works really well for you...

Most hook I have in the bag is a Brunswick Power Groove pearl in green and purple. Hooks like a hockey stick any time it catches a dry spot. My PSO didn't believe me until he saw it, and he didnt get to see me pour the coals. On a short pattern it wouldn't ever see the pins without sending it dead straight.
Most hooking ball Ive ever thrown is probably going to be the Jackal Carnage. I was just soo far left of everyone else on the fresh out of the bag BUUUUUUT we all know what happened to that thing. Side note... I just started throwing the Omega and that thing has been soo good.

I'm getting back into bowling after a long break, and I bought a Proton PhysiX after using Storm's Matchmaker tool. I've only bowled a couple of games so far, but it grips the lane better than my old 90's Power Torq (which is all I have to go off of at the moment), but not as much as I was expecting. I had my ball drilled with a 4 x 4 x 1 pattern (my PAP is 5.5" --> and 3/8" down). Watching this video got me wondering if a 4 x 4 x 1 pattern, for example, would yield similar action for any given bowler considering different PAPs if using the same ball, or do different PAPs affect how a ball reacts assuming the same layout is drilled....? I don't remember anyone talking about PAPs, axis tilt, etc., back in the 90's, so I guess I'm playing catch up.
The most hooking ball I own is the astrophysix. I haven't bought much crazy equipment. I bought a dv8 pitbull growl once a long time back just to try the brand but it was all tires and no engine so even in the oil it would burn up too soon so I never got any "hook" out of it. Plus it lane shined by like frame 5. It was also drilled bad.

What would you recommend between the Proton Physix and Omega Crux for a house that uses the hardest synthetic boards, the pattern is insanely long like 45 feet and there's oil from gutter to gutter? I currently have a UFO (never matched up with this ball), Crux Prime (a monster anywhere but this particular house), Nuclear Cell (fun but inconsistent) and some nights (most nights) they don't hook more than 4-5 boards and I leave lots of splits from hitting light pockets or just wash out and take out 3-6-10's. In fact, for some reason my Hustle Ink is the best ball for these lanes after the middle of game 2....makes no sense. I've also tried a Pro Motion, so it seems the symmetrical core balls do better here for some reason. I did sand my UFO with a 250 grit pad one night and it hooked so much I was taking out 7 pins no matter how hard I threw it. The simple answer is to stop bowling at this house, which I'm considering. Any other lane I go to I'm a 615-650 series bowler, on this particular house I'm lucky to break 500 some nights. My problem is I can't throw slow and hit my spots, I like to be in the 16.5-17 mph range, not a ton of revs, but I'm forced to go down to 14mph or so on this house and when I do that I can't hit my spots consistently, or if I do I over throw it and have light hits all night and tough spares. I'm not great at moving way left and trying to hit the middle arrow and keep my angles tight, I'm more of straighter player. Great channel! Love your vids! Thanks!
My most hook ball is my newest one. Just added the Hammer Redmetion Hybrid to my bag and bowled my career high of a 257. I also have a Brunswick Rhino and an old Mo Rich Pioneer and then a Columbia 300 WD as my spare ball.
a sanded original pink hammer, the ball was so good until i got stupid and said "i wonder what would happen if i sanded this ball", it just never made it to the pins after that, polish helped but it was never the same.
Truly excellent review! The most hooking ball I have ever thrown and still own is the Visionary Midnight Scorcher Asymmetric Particle Urethane. Ball is 320 grit. The particles are made out of the same material as tires. It just grips the lane immediately through the heaviest oil on any pattern no matter how long. It has surprising continuation which gives it incredible hitting power. It also carries the light hit because it digs in so hard it won't deflect. No resin ball I have ever tried is as strong.

The RST's backend snap is already scary on a hybrid, its gonna be something to see what angle degree it will have when they make a pearl version. It might be unplayable on house shots

It's funny, I didn't really like the Crux Prime, especially after it got de-oiled. Maybe the Spec coverstock had something to do with that(?) Do you think the NEX cover will hold up better? I'm a low rev/speed dominant bowler (215/16.5 mph). Maybe the RST X-1 is a better choice? I have, and love, the Rubicon.
the most hook of a ball but it was before i knew that more hook was less and more in the middle, well the most hook ball ive ever had was probably the virtual gravity cause it was my first high performance ball, but then the Vivid was really strong and turned pretty quick off the dry, so i honestly would say the vivid by storm. but im definitely liking my impact by ebonite.
Well if you wanted to know what the best hooking ball is for me unfortunately it is not a storm it was the original blue hammer then I threw between 1990 and 1996. And depending on the ball speed I could almost stand on the left gutter throw it towards the right and have it hit just the seven pin or I could stand over all the way to the right throw it to the left and hit the 10 pin. Most people are saying now that my blue hammer isn’t anything more than just a spare pick up ball

If the machine does not clean well and the backend is dirty, the balls like proton ph. , polaris solid, reality solid or gem etc etc.. do not move/shape and is it better to use medium performance balls with smaller cores?
I want this ball so bad, i got into bowling about 2 months ago. First ball i got the Rhino because of yalls review. Was a great started ball and got me really into bowling. So i just got the storm axiom solid (again because of yall) and i love that thing, its so so so good!! Adding a 3rd ball into my league bag and need help deciding what would be best for me, i bowl on neon 43ft. Bowl thumbless and fast speed good revs. Have a axiom and axiom pearl currently. Any ideas for a 3rd ball?

The strongest ball, and one of my all time favorites, in my bag currently is the Halo Pearl. Super strong with good length, controllable angle at the breakpoint and great continuation through the pins. Even when the lanes start to break down, I can swing the entire lane with this thing during my sport shot league. To me personally, it's one of the best balls Roto Grip ever produced. I've always leaned towards strong pearls because I have a higher ball speed and rev rate, so I can "float" the ball down the lane through the fronts, without needing that earlier traction. I've always prefered that sharper motion off of the friction. Solid Asyms and I don't usually get along that well I get too much over/under reaction. I do have the Halo Solid too, but that's strictly for longer tournament patterns, because that thing is VERY strong. Regardless, this ball still looks really good.
You high rev guys are way out of my league. No idea of my revs as I only throw around 13 mph but get to the pocket and average around 180. Looking for a ball that will angle to pocket better. In my bag now is the Alpha Crux and IQ Gold, with the Crux as my go to and the IQ when more oil. Which ball would you recommend adding? Leaning to Proton Physix. Appreciate input...........thanks.

@@jrproshopNot really hook less. I know it is probably a stupid question. I don't spin alot and wondered if there was a place to put the pin and Cg to help it hit the pocket. Like in your straight shots on the video. Your straight shots are pretty much how I bowl.
All good, no stupid question here, I think you're trying to ask if there's a layout that would suit your play style effectively. Yes there's is, try a really strong layout like 45x3 3/4x45 if you aren't sure what that means your pro shop guy will know
First time I comment on one of your videos. I believe you guys are doing a great job. Jungo is a very pleasant presenter. I am an educator, so I see him with the eyes of a teacher. My only suggestion: I have problems seeing the arrows when Jungo is throwing the ball in this video. That is important for me. Maybe playing with the camera angle or light could improve the image. Just a suggestion. Have a good one.
Mine was probably the Vertigo (03ish, I think), or the Virtual Gravity. Both Storm balls. Icon 2 was pretty ridiculous, that was Columbia 300. Uh... also the original black Chaos. I had to stop bowling in 2012 due to injury, so the last ball i ever owned was the Gravity Nano.
Used to be a three nights a week league bowler in my early 20s. I remember that for about 18 months you'd have ten total bowlers a pair and almost every ball return would have at least six virtual gravitys on them. The day I got mine (six months late) felt like Christmas
My bowling size is XXL 12 pound ball, and I'm right handed bowler. What bowling ball should I invest in for someone who has big hands like me who likes higher ball speed and does not like to hook it like a hockey stick?
Hey Andrew! Your hand size doesn't matter as when you purchase a ball, the pro shop operator will measure your hand and drill your ball specifically for you. With that being said you could probably use a 13lb comfortably maybe even a 14lb ball. I would start with an idol, medium hook potential and very smooth hook. Great question !
It looks remarkably like the crux prime, just looks like the core rolls over at a different part of the lane. Might just be the colors tricking my eye but 🤷🏻♂️

Which hustle ? Regular league night on a typical house pattern, my 6 ball bag would be spareball, IQ Tour solid, idol synergy, idol, axiom, RST.

The reality comes to mind, it's a little less hook then the proton but more backend motion

Surelock and strong bite BG (overseas) strongest balls to date still for me
If the machine does not clean well and the backend is dirty, the balls like proton ph. , polaris solid, reality solid or gem etc etc.. do not move/shape and is it better to use medium performance balls with smaller cores?
Most hooking ball I have is the Storm Drive. Thing hooks like crazy if I throw it at a clean 45 degree tilt.
I want this ball so bad, i got into bowling about 2 months ago. First ball i got the Rhino because of yalls review. Was a great started ball and got me really into bowling. So i just got the storm axiom solid (again because of yall) and i love that thing, its so so so good!! I want to add the proton soon, my first 3 ball arsenal i want it to be the axiom, hyroad pearl and fast pitch
Do you think on how strong the proton is it harder to control with a strong pinup
It's very easy to control because of the strong cover stock which grabs early and smooths out the reaction

Best hooking ball would be my Omega. This video was great. Already own the Axiom and the Omega Crux. Now I’ve got the proton to look forward to!!
From way back in the day Columbia 300 Power Torq. Out of the box I couldn’t keep on the right side.
Most hooking ball I’ve ever seen before the Proton was the Hammer Gauntlet. The further left you went, the more it hooked.

Adding a 3rd ball into my league bag and need help deciding what would be best for me, i bowl on neon 43ft. Bowl thumbless and fast speed good revs. Have a axiom and axiom pearl currently. Any ideas for a 3rd ball?
Hmm it depends, are you finding the axioms to hook a lot and need something less? Or something with more hook?
@@jrproshop ended up getting the proton!! thing is a monster on my house pattern. Went with a stronger solid ball because i love playing straighter up the lane and more control with the hook
On the Pba why do the bowling balls look polished are they polished?
Sometimes yes they are using polish other times the ball will just naturally shine up by bowling and having the oil on the surface of the ball
If someone loves the axiom and wants a stronger ball should they get the proton physix or crux prime
Either of those would be stronger and a good choice. Although Jungo preferred the proton
Right now the most hiking ball I got is the omega crux super nice and smooth
haywire is the hooking Est ball I have in my bag at the moment … but i have a phaze II undrilled that i haven't thrown yet

The strongest ball, and one of my all time favorites, in my bag currently is the Halo Pearl. Super strong with good length, controllable angle at the breakpoint and great continuation through the pins. Even when the lanes start to break down, I can swing the entire lane with this thing during my sport shot league. To me personally, it's one of the best balls Roto Grip ever produced. I've always leaned towards strong pearls because I have a higher ball speed and rev rate, so I can "float" the ball down the lane through the fronts, without needing that earlier traction. I've always prefered that sharper motion off of the friction. Solid Asyms and I don't usually get along that well I get too much over/under reaction. I do have the Halo Solid too, but that's strictly for longer tournament patterns, because that thing is VERY strong. Regardless, this ball still looks really good.
I want the halo ball so bad. But i might have to wait until christmas or my birthday to buy one thx to its high resell value 😞

You high rev guys are way out of my league. No idea of my revs as I only throw around 13 mph but get to the pocket and average around 180. Looking for a ball that will angle to pocket better. In my bag now is the Alpha Crux and IQ Gold, with the Crux as my go to and the IQ when more oil. Which ball would you recommend adding? Leaning to Proton Physix. Appreciate input...........thanks.

Ebonite Apex Intensity was just insane. I'm sure on a modern pattern it wouldn't be all that impressive, but back in it's day nothing even came close.

The ball I've had the most hook with is my Purple AMF Pure Adrenaline!! I just recently ordered a Proton Physics and I'm excited to use it
Is there a specific way to drill in order for the ball to react like yours when you threw it straight? Like where to put pin and CG? Or does it not matter? Thanks. Love your videos.

@@jrproshopNot really hook less. I know it is probably a stupid question. I don't spin alot and wondered if there was a place to put the pin and Cg to help it hit the pocket. Like in your straight shots on the video. Your straight shots are pretty much how I bowl.
All good, no stupid question here, I think you're trying to ask if there's a layout that would suit your play style effectively. Yes there's is, try a really strong layout like 45x3 3/4x45 if you aren't sure what that means your pro shop guy will know

First time I comment on one of your videos. I believe you guys are doing a great job. Jungo is a very pleasant presenter. I am an educator, so I see him with the eyes of a teacher. My only suggestion: I have problems seeing the arrows when Jungo is throwing the ball in this video. That is important for me. Maybe playing with the camera angle or light could improve the image. Just a suggestion. Have a good one.

The ball that hooked the most for me would be my brunswick prism warp hybrid
Mine was probably the Vertigo (03ish, I think), or the Virtual Gravity. Both Storm balls. Icon 2 was pretty ridiculous, that was Columbia 300. Uh... also the original black Chaos. I had to stop bowling in 2012 due to injury, so the last ball i ever owned was the Gravity Nano.

Used to be a three nights a week league bowler in my early 20s. I remember that for about 18 months you'd have ten total bowlers a pair and almost every ball return would have at least six virtual gravitys on them. The day I got mine (six months late) felt like Christmas

My bowling size is XXL 12 pound ball, and I'm right handed bowler. What bowling ball should I invest in for someone who has big hands like me who likes higher ball speed and does not like to hook it like a hockey stick?
Hey Andrew! Your hand size doesn't matter as when you purchase a ball, the pro shop operator will measure your hand and drill your ball specifically for you. With that being said you could probably use a 13lb comfortably maybe even a 14lb ball. I would start with an idol, medium hook potential and very smooth hook. Great question !

alpha jackal and omega crux with slower speed [~10-12mph 14ibs] can make it go from 1 board all the way to the 7.
If you could choose just one, Omega Crux or Proton Physix, which would it be and why?
Omega for sure, will be able to use it on more patterns cause it hooks a little later and sharper

It looks remarkably like the crux prime, just looks like the core rolls over at a different part of the lane. Might just be the colors tricking my eye but 🤷🏻♂️
Definitely has more shape down lane than the crux prime. Crux prime wasn't usable on long
