    Engine wear from higher revolution in lower gears also uses more fuel revving more.

    In the States, they are using google to see how much driving you are doing. If you don't drive enough they charge you extra in taxes. It's just insane mixed messages. My husband uses an old phone and a map book. Thank you for this information, Andy.

    Well I will come out and say it! There was absolutely nothing wrong with the maximum speed limit outside schools. I grew up with it, my own kids grew up with it and it was fine. Here’s the thing - we were taught how to cross the road properly! Outside a modern school, when the kids are going in and coming out, the roads are blocked up anyway, so by default the speed limit drops.

      That's true, and people don't actually want to run anyone over

      I think the whole thing is being imposed to generate fines Liz. I can maintain 20mph by staying in 3rd gear, almost impossible in an automatic! It might change though, 450,000 people in Wales have signed a petition against it, population is only 3 million

    I even disagree with always twenty past schools. The school near me doesn't deem it necessary to employ a crossing attendant so If they don't take special measures then why tf should I?
    And as for hospitals, how many people enter/leave on foot? There are carparks, bus stops and taxi ranks within the campus.
    Even the opposition is full of woke crap.

      You’re right there, although it was less bad than it is now with 20 in every built up area

    I forgot hoodies on e bikes masked up riding on our roads and pavements pulling wheelies or no handed on their phones too.

    I know this will be unpopular but If everyone sticks to speed limits the cameras will be useless and they won’t be able to pay for their upkeep. I try to stick to speed limits but agree my car and motorbike are not designed to run efficiently at 20mph, cash grab pure and simple.

    20 mph does not save petrol, becouse you will be in a lower gear and the engine runs for longer cousing more pollution in bult up areas and more congestion. The same with automatics, they will change to lower gear also.

    • @and3583
      @and3583  9 месяцев назад +1

      Hard to say, probably an election. Many of us think the Senedd (Welsh Assembly Government) is a “jobs for the boys” waste of money, also many don’t trust Westminster. I think there’d have to be a Senedd election and if the turnout is bad enough it’d be the beginning of the end of it. Difficult to say. Thanks for watching!

    More pollution thats a great idea, and not ask us if we agree, we need to tell them to FO

      I reckon they think Evs are cleaner, but somewhere there has to be a power station pumping pollution out!

    I think Drakeford and labour are generally very bad for Wales but on this one issue I think they are right. 20mph will make residential areas more quiet for people who live there and safer for pedestrians. Also, 20 mph is only on 30% of roads (some were already 20mph too). It only slows a journey down a little when you pass through a residential area for a few seconds. Most roads are unaffected by this 20mph change.

    • @and3583
      @and3583  9 месяцев назад +1

      Question is, what happens when a quiet residential person or a child, or dare I say it someone who’s come here to die, needs emergency treatment and the ambulance takes hours longer than usual to arrive because the roads are jammed up by people doing 20mph or less? Also, the back roads which have a theoretical 60mph limit because they’re untested, are filling up with people driving fast because they know there are no speed cameras? Maybe most roads in your area are unaffected but there’s a much bigger picture, including businesses that can’t compete because they can’t get goods in or out without vastly increased time and expense?

    Take mobile phones away from kids heads and remove their buds before crossing roads problem solved same for many adults that get ran over,then 20mph won't make any difference for a driver on their phone when they kill somebody will it ?
    Spend money catching drivers on phones drink and drugs first I mean police it better and save lives.

    What a great surprise today to see you again ! Was only thinking about you a few days ago ! Yes...rambles while rambling across Merlin's mountain, love it. Protect the psychic stuff elsewhere. Will you / do you do Rumble yet ? I believe the smart phones listen to you even when off. We've noticed lately that ads relevant to conversations we've been having about digging a trench in the garden have been popping up on all our feeds!? Crazy. You're looking really well Andy. 💚✨🙏🪻🪷

      I've actually had ads for a thing I thought about and I hadn't said a word or looked it up. Possible co-incidence, I hope 😲

      Recently this phenomenon has increased and is being noticed by many. People have been commenting that Smart phones and PCs are monitoring search history, comments and the microphone. You can even receive information you may have only thought of. AI is monitoring your predictability through the algorithm. You need to go into your settings and turn of your microphone when you do not need it otherwise the Smart phone is recording you. Free speech is now being curtailed.

      I only bought a car because about 20 years ago when my youngest was a baby, all the local countryside buses were cut out and I had to push her for about 6 miles in her buggy to get to playschool, shops etc. I think comprehensive bus services would be great for the environment and I hope we get them all around the world 🌎 🦋
