You guys are a great team. I love you guys. Such a privilege to get such legal knowledge since I never went to law school.
Anna said jury selection is boring to most, but it is the subject of a TV show, Bull, which helps show how interesting it can be 😎
It's amazing that at this late stage the panel is still debating which acts in the indictment might align with which charges. 🤯 Unusual behavior for an indictment, to say the least.
I’m a lawyer. In no way, shape or form is two weeks a reasonable amount of time for jury selection. The vast majority of criminal trials don’t take that long. A typical death penalty trial might take up to three, including the penalty phase.
Except that it's being tried in a jurisdiction that is predominantly anti-Trump and they will have to weed out those with bias. Additionally, the judge's questions seemed slanted to weed out anyone who might have sympathy for Trump.
With a minimum of 42 questions for each juror by just the judge alone, the process will take time.
Additionally, Trump has requested certain questions to preserve for appeal the claim that the matter should have been removed to a different county based on the inability to get a fair trial. I expect the judge will deny many of those requests which will then be ripe for immediate appeal, interrupting the jury selection process.
Love your stuff but it's a real problem that Quinta's sound level is so much lower than Anna's.
None of the host's ways of talking or microphone setting poses any noticeable problem for me. Just throwing that out there to provide a counter data point.
I found the tone of Cannon's order on the Jenks issue to be less defensive and more annoyed with Jack for failing to file any authorities in opposition at the previous hearing and coming to the table late.
Thank you Anna, Quinta, and Roger - very helpful. Roger, I think you're being overly kind to Cannon. She's a mess. We don't know for sure WHY she is, but it's clear that she's a mess and she's making a mess of this case. I bet the 11th Circuit judges are cringing every day. You're also being overly kind to the SCOTUS majority, referring to what might be going on with them as "subconscious". Maybe you're just a kind guy but signs are that at least 2, and more likely 4-5 of the Supreme Court justices are acting in full awareness of their bias.
Chutkan or Cannon, or both compared? I think this clip was cut awkwardly.
Official Proceeding means "trial or investigation". I'm sure you all remember during Mueller when this same panel of experts debated whether it extended to investigations as well as trials. Never then did any of these talking heads suggest it could cover disrupting a session of Congress.
Anna Bower is my low key celebrity crush.
Fake redheads are to be avoided. If they want to lie about their hair color- what else does she lie about?
@@markhamilton3477 So you're criticizing her appearance and voice. Any other complaints?
How can the trial be about election interference? Non-disclosure agreements are totally legal.
The charges aren't election interference.
yay no wittes
Lawfare Producers, Friends, the verdict is inescapable...far too much facially-expressed meaning is lost to us by the dodginess of Roger's connection. Must we initiate a Go Fund Me to improve his baud rate? In fact, all of the esteemed participants are poorly rendered and much of value in their expressions is lost forever.
Anna Bower needs to tone down her voice as she sounds quite shrill making it unpleasant to hear her as she is in a tone and pitch that is grating on the ears. Her laughs seems fake and strained.
Tell women how to human more.
My dad was a real lawyer - As an ex stenographer who did jury trials, and officer of the Court: you should be disbarred for lying on the record
well then you are qualified and obligated to pursue their disbarment, pls keep us updated on your progress
Did your dad ever tell you it was better to remain silent?
That’s great that you were a stenographer. I myself was once a pterodactyl.
Shame on you. 6:07
Did you only do mock trials in law school? You are screwing real people over with fake litigation.
Go to bed, Loomy. You’re drunk again.
