My very young child didn't believe shoes were made by hand so I googled it to show her and found this work of art. Truly beautiful. Your attention to detail and craftsmanship are inspiring, especially in this age of cutting corners and doing things the easy way. Thanks for making this video! And great music choice, as well.
As a fellow leather worker(not boots - armor/jewelry/holsters mostly) I cannot respect the labor involved in that enough. Amazing. I've been rolling around the idea for a while now for making my own set of medieval/fantasy boots and videos like this give me even more motivation to give it a try
Such craftsmanship. One cannot watch this video and go without a better appreciation and understanding of the job implied in handmade shoe making. Congratulations.
I just got into leather making for practical reasons (a lot of tools I restore and collect are sharp) and decided today to set myself a long-term goal of making a pair of boots when my leatherworking skills improve
Speaking as an old fella that used to make boots, shoes and medical shoes, very nice. I haven't made a pair of shoes or boots in a few years shy of 30 years. Brings back fond memories. Thank you.
Hello, I' ve been wearing my boots for 4 months now. They are pretty to me. Sorry I can't share pictures. It was quite difficult but less than making my first pair of shoes.
The guy that is building those boots is nothing short of a true highly talented craftsman. I'm a logger of 5 generations before me and like the men from all those years ago, the most important article of work attire are good heavy leather work boots. Your fee,t legs and back will thank you especially if you're a cutter. That's a craft that would be a gift to have someone to teach me. Beautiful finished product that's made with pride. So awesome to see
Thanks so much for your kind words, truly appreciate it and that you took the time to watch my video. I just published a new one, I am sure you will enjoy it.
I just purchased hand made Zamberlan boots to farm in, the most expensive shoe purchase of my life at almost $400. I have vowed to never spend so much on shoes, so I’m here to learn how to make my own. Thank you sir!
*Great video! It's amazing the outcome he came up with! I wish the music had been much more quiet, so I could hear his shop noises more. They're really cool!*
You and Bootfury are on here teaching the next generation of cobblers for free. Saints I say. Not long ago this was closely guarded information. Thank you so very much!
Nice to know other crafts men we have the same technique. I thought i was the only crafts men that spray moisture on my tips that needs shaping. "Yeah there is a book on just about anything. But we have self skills to make is easier to do this. Glade to know I share this same technique. Personally I don't use contact cement. My neatsls muck up er brake. All tho I pinstripe it on right above my stich if that will help a up coming true shoe crafts men. I started off x making moccasins the rest is taking junk shoes apart repairing them making it better. Then reading books 📚. Hint to all u shoe crafters. Cut up a sofa on the side of the road. I made some batching shoes. Peace ✌

this is may 1st time watching a making boots and it's awesome i never ever waring a boots because I don't have a boots like that it's amazing i love it. more videos
I love watching handcrafting in general. But I haven't seen anything such satisfying for a long time. I totally could feel the love you lay into your work. The thoughtfulness of each step, the mindfulness of each cut, the accuracy of each stitch... This was pure joy to watch and somehow pretty sensual as well. :-) Thank you for sharing and all the best for you! Hope I can come to my dream country soon.
@arsonwars sensual does not always have a sexual or erotic connotation. It means enjoying the process, the physical touch and aesthetics of the material, and doing it mindfully , at least in my opinion.
I would like to see you make some moccasins with stronger souls that the normal moccasin patterns include. Loved watching. I'm an amateur leather craftsmen, but have most-all of the industrial machinery needed to get the work done. Thank you for any suggestions on making the souls better for moccasins.
Just getting into leathercraft. Your work is just beautiful. Makes me wish I would have taken my old boots to a cobbler to be repaired. Maybe one day I can make my own as you have You have a new subscriber
After increases in prices and supply chain issues I'm finding myself increasingly irritated at shoe and clothing costs. After an initial binge buying used made in USA Pendletons and other such items- what lacks is fit for me. And good shoes are literally impossible to find for me now at less than $200. This wasn't an issue that I recall as a young'n, and I can't afford Russels. I believe it's time to invest in learning to manufacture my own clothing and shoes for myself and kids. It is a valuable lesson for them to see the real value of labor, and things that last. Thank you so much for this video, I need this type of encouragement.
OLD LEATHER SMITH here, EXCELLENT, I thought I was the ONLY 1 who stitched on souls like that, I make knee high moccasins among other things, AGAIN EXCELLENT JOB, GOD'S BLESSINGS ✝️⚾🙃
Great video and awesome work, love the closed channel stitching on the outsole and the fact that it’s hand welted. I’m a hobbyist leatherworker and want to get into shoemaking, just found your channel and it’s a wonderful reference.

You are so welcome!
Well worth finding a cobbler and getting a bunch of kids and all taking a class.

Go for you my friend
Give it a try. I'm the son of a cobbler and It has given me so much confidence in tinkering with things.
The worst that happens is you learn a lot.
This dude is a master, I’d hang out there all day and watch art before my eyes
I may not know anything about making boots but I couldn’t stop thinking “wow he’s doing a good job”
Thank you so so much
