Worked like a charm, can't believe how hard it was to find a decent tutorial. Thanks a lot, you saved my a lot of stress!
You are welcome, Thanks for watching and the comment.
Wow, thank you so much. I've been scouring the internet trying to find a way to manually set the frequency without activating XMP and your video clearly explained how. I really appreciate this kind of simple and helpful tutorial. Thank you.
You are welcome, Thank you for watching and the comment.
Was looking everywhere trying to find a video on MANUAL OC, and not xmp, which is surprisingly very difficult. thank you so much kind and gentle sir. your doing the lord's work. 😃
Glad I could help you. Thank you. Thanks for watching and the comment.
Literally a year this has been a huge problem for me, I tried this expecting nothing after trying so many other things and I was ready to give up. PC has been running stable now for hours, cant thank you enough.
youre the man!!! ive been trying for weeks to figure this out and finally someone who was able to fix it for me.
Thank you, Glad I could help you. Thanks for watching and the comment.
PERFECT VIDEO because I was about to flip!
Watch this and the first few minutes are exactly what you need to do.
This is a newer motherboard that I got and I couldn’t for the life of me figure this out until now. I didn’t even realize my ram could bump up to 4266Mhz but here I am feeling all fancy LOL.
GREAT VID!
Xmp worked for me but I overclocked from 3600 c16 to 4000mhz c18.
Great video.
Nice overclock, Thank you. Thanks for watching and the comment.
Thank you so much man you are a life saver🙏🏼Before this video I was trying to OC but I kept getting black screens. Useful and easy to follow video. Nice 😊
You are welcome, Thank you. Thanks for watching and the comment.
Worked! Thanks! Not all heroes wear capes!
Ram was 3600mhz Corsair Vengeance and passed the Windows inbuilt test with the manual settings after XMP was unstable
Your video saved me! Expo didn't work and my 6400MHZ RAM was running at 4800 only. I tuned it manually (voltage at 1.3v instead of default 1.1v and Expo 1.4v) and every settings at half default+Expo (5600mhz) and it works like a charm now 😁
Thank you and your welcome. Thanks for watching and the comment.
Thank you! I finally solved my rebooting problems after installing 2 additional RAM sticks! It seems that the XMP profile was set to 1.2V, so I had to manually set it up 1.4V and boom, 100% back to normal!
It works fine on my Aorus 550i Pro motherboard which is very temperamental.
Thanks a lot, Daves!👍
You are welcome, Glad I could help you. Thanks for watching and the comment.
This was perfect! The clock settings worked perfectly with my ram 🤣
Thank you for watching and the comment.
This is the definition of Layman's Term. Cheers.
Thank you, I try to do my videos where anyone can understand them. Thanks for watching and the comment.
This Tutorial helped me soo much! I tryed so many things and this here helped me! Thanks man great work!
If this didn't work for u and u have two ram sticks, check that they are in A2 and B2 slots. In second and fourth slots from the CPU. That was the case for me.
if i have only one stick can i do overclock or use xmp?
@@florbar Yes. Just put it in A2 slot.
Thank you brother your videos helped a lot I really needed a tutorial with my specific motherboard
Your welcome. Thanks for watching and the comment.
Thank you so much man was stuck at 2666 even after enabling xmp but you fixed
THANK YOU SO MUCH DAVE! DUDEEE YOU SAVED ME TODAY
Thanks for this video Dave, I’m doing a new build and bought 3600mhz ram. I have a gigabyte B550 Aorus Pro and Ryzen 5 5600G which has built in graphics. I’m hoping one of these methods will have it running right, this is after bios update of course. Wish me luck and thanks again, I have subscribed to your channel because I couldn’t find this info on any other channel 👍🏼🇦🇺.
Thanks for the sub, Best of luck on getting that new build setup right. Thanks for watching and the comment.
Thank you so much you're a king for this!
Very nice video. I had an issue with XMP on this exact mobo with Ryzen 5600G.
Manually overclocking my RAM appears to be stable rather than using XMP profile.
Running Prime95 to validate!
Thank you, Thanks for watching and the comment.
Hi Kevin, just noticed your post, I am building with the exact same mobo and ram so looks like this will be the way for me to go also. Are you having any dramas or all good? Cheers from Oz 👍🏼🇦🇺.
@@hammer8809 Hello! My system has been running rather well since it has been built; just 2 months. Only drama is not having enough time to game on the dang thing! A RTX 3070 via Gigabyte lives in there.
Good luck with your build!
Thanks Brother !!!!!!! You Saved the day .😊😊😊😊😊😊😊

It works. Thank you subscribed
Your welcome. Thanks for the sub. Thanks for watching and the comment.
worked for me on a rx6700xt with XMP thanks man
You are welcome. Thank you for watching and the comment.
Thanks. I'd been looking for a bit of a guide beyond "Turn it ON". Auto XMP works for me stable, but I use my computer for movies and if XMP is on it will struggle to smoothly pan a scene without jerking unless I turn off XMP. Games are otherwise fine. Going to play around with timing and report back here.
Your welcome. Good luck. Thanks for watching and the comment.
Thanks you sir
Thank you so much sir 💯
Thanks for the video man i got some new fatser ram for my 3900x after the old died and was having a hard time getting my xmp to work

Awesome video!
Thank you. Thanks for watching and the comment.
Thank you very much. My Ram is exact copy of yours and did not play nice with the 5700g

It was the only one that didn't work for me, I need help, I did everything, the PC restarted several times and it remains the same at 2,400 mhz
I’m not sure what’s the problem with my setup. I can’t get XMP or manual OC to work on my RAM. I enable XMP the system tries to reboot, causes the cpu/case fans to not work. And when it gets into bios it still reads 2666 for the frequency. Maybe incompatible RAM?
I need help, mine stays the same at 2,400 mhz and I've done everything and nothing
I did this and it still runs at 2666 mhz, I had a pny xlr8 2x16gb 3200 mhz ram, I had to ask what ram you use?
thank you kind sir
You are welcome. Thank you for watching and the comment.
Thanks best video
You are welcome. Thank you. Thanks for watching and the comment.
When I try to set my timing for the “tRP” to what XMP had it at which was 39, it goes back to auto. I checked the list of timings and it only goes up to 27…lol. HELP
When i go into the bios to adjust the tRP and tRAS timings they immeadiately revert back to "auto" after me changing them. Ive read that that might have to do with me not having Gear Down Mode enabled but i cannot find that anywhere in my Bios on the b550 aorus elite v2... any ideas?
Thanks a lot! You saved my time. My motherboard dont play nicely ;)
You are welcome. Thanks for watching and the comment.
@@DavesTechway how would I know if my motherboard plays nicely or not?
Sadly this tutorial did not work for me. I tried all of the steps but my pc either is just stuck bootlooping then resetting back to 2133mhz or it just does not give me any signal and the fans spin at full speed. Seems like i wont be able to use my ram at its advertised speed of 3200
Sorry to hear that. Thank you for watching and the comment.
Fclk and uclk, if memory is 3600mhz, cpuz shows 3:54, mem/2 cause half speed, so what also needs changing
Nothing, It shows speed per stick, What it shows times it by 2 to get full speed. Thanks for watching and the comment.
Do you know if you can use decimals for the memory timings? I'm trying to do it but its gets reset to Auto
Sorry but I'm not sure. Thanks for watching and the comment
@@DavesTechway No problem, thanks for the reply! I realized I was doing it wrong anyways!
Hello when I follow your settings my PC restarts and then shuts down and repeats this process three times. I go into my task manager to see the new ram and it’s still at 2133 MHz.. any help would be appreciated
The overclock is not stable for your motherboard, I would enable the DOCP/XMP profile and turn back the speeds a little. Thanks for watching and the comment.
Idk if you got your problem fixed yet but Dave is right, just knock down the mhz of the ram.
3 boots for task manager to show 2666, I change the multiplier to 34.66 and now it works fine.
I had a similar issue. Using two sticks of G.Skill F4-4000C18D memory which should have be fine at 4,000 Mhz. I set everything to the XMP settings including 1.4v but dropped the clock speed to 3,800 and now it's fine.
I tried both but it is still stuck on 2133 is it because the motherboard i use is a gigabyte b550 gaming v2? Or is my ram just mean
is this mother board gen 3 or gen 4?
Tried it and just got a black screen
I can't seem to change My system memory multiplier to change my speeds. I double click on it and nothing happens, I see you could type in a new number but I can't
Try pressing enter instead of double clicking
Mine not saving it. Or confirming. Any one know why
How much can I overclock my ram that's at 3200 stock
Not sorry depends on your ram kit. Thanks for watching and the comment.
I have G.SKILL Ripjaws V Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) 288-Pin PC RAM DDR4 3600 (PC4 28800) Desktop Memory Model F4-3600C14D-16GVKA but it shows in task manager as running 2133
The motherboard don't like your XMP profile, Try and type in the same numbers by hand. Thanks for watching and the comment.
Hello! I bought a 16 gb kingston renegade 4000mhz stick, I tried activating xmp, but when saving and rebooting the motherboard it makes several beeps and after a while it reboots. When entering the Bios again, it appears that xmp is enabled, but right there in the ram information it says 2400 mhz, when entering windows it is the same. I only use a stick, does that have anything to do with it? should it be 2? Or must it be in a specific slot if it is only one? Thank you so much!
I have a mb aorus b550m elite and a micro r7 5800x, in theory it should work, but it doesn't :(
No tengo opción xmp que hago?
How would this work for Quad channel ram (Corsair 4x8 3600 cl16) on a 5600x?
It should work the same way with quad channel ram. Thanks for watching and the comment.
Thanks i just overclocked my ram from 3200 to 3600 and got 20fps more on an apu
You are welcome, Thanks for watching and the comment.
If you lower from 3600 to 3200, what happens with the rest of the settings? Remain the same as 3600?
YEs all the settings will stay the same besides the speed. Thank you for watching and the comment.
@@DavesTechway thanks for the info, very useful. Greetings from Greece.
Hey, it doesn't work to me my ram runs at 2666 after the oc. The same happens to cpu
Is the problem my psu? I've 550w and is it enough to oc? My system is 5600g rx6600 and 16gb
PSU should be fine. I would try and update the BIOS. Thanks for watching and the comment.
I did the same, but i'm getting no display??? Please help me
Overclocking is not stable, Reset you BIOS. Thanks for watching and the comment.
Hello, got a question, so I'm getting the Adata XPG D60G ram it's base is 3200mhz, can I possibly boost that up to 4000mhz on this motherboard? (i have seen people doing 4000mhz on other boards and it seemed to work, just making sure it's possible on this board)
I never tried it but you maybe able to push that high. Thanks for watching and the comment.
Amd dont like over 3600mhz memory
@@jussikankinen9409 that is just not true at all, amd ryzen cpus benefit from higher frequency ram
Hi Daves, you are great, keep it up! :D
please give your opinion and help, I have a total of 32 GB of memory where all 4 connectors are used with a maximum ram memory of 3200 MhZ.
When I disable X.M.P my speed is like yours 2133 MhZ, when I enable X.M.P in task manager it shows me a speed of 3200 MhZ. Now I'm asking you if it's enough just to enable X.M.P because I'm a little afraid to make further adjustments like you did.
Everything else is on automatic like yours, I'm afraid to enter those numbers.
Is it enough to just enable X.M.P and what do I get with it?
I am activates X.M.P.
My memory clock in Team Fortress 2 game is 5002 MhZ, is that good or bad? Given that my memory speed of 3200 MhZ, and occasionally increases to 9502 MhZ.
Please explain, I don't understand much about these things.
Thank you, Running the ram at 3200MHz means you are not get all of the speed from your ram that you paid for, but just running XMP is just fine. The rest of the video is if the XMP don't work. Your CPU has a lot to do with how your ram speeds as well. Sorry but I not to sure on why it windows would be showing 9502MHz. Thanks for watching and the comment.
The 2 options in the video don’t work for me. Is there anything else to do?
Enable your XMP profile and turn your speed back a little bite. Thanks for watching and the comment.
Bro I tried both way and didn't work 😭😭 please help,me i,have same exact motherboard
It maybe your ram kit you are using. Thanks for watching and the comment.
Gigabyte b550 gaming v2 motherboard, it won't let me change anything manually. am i missing something?
It may be the BIOS version you are running. Thanks for watching and the comment.
@@DavesTechway It is the latest revision of the motherboard (rev 1.4) though, do i really need to update it?
Same issue for me
Hello sir please help me I'm in trouble my brother will kill me if it is not fix , actually I have 2 rams of Corsair vangence each 16gb total of 32gb , but it's running on 2133 mhz and I have motherboard of gigabyte b550 arous pro v2 , but when I turn XMP profile and reboot the pc it won't turn on please tell me how to do XMP profile 😭 I have to keep remove the CMOS battery to reset the BIOS for the display please help me. And I'm using latest bios
But when I put a single ram stick and selects the XMP profile then it works fine and display comes and got 3200 mhz but not in both ram please help
i have a qs can i overclock my 3000 mghz ram to 3200 and pair it with a 3200
Nope they will run at the slower speed. Thanks for watching and the comment.
Can you please help me out i have 64gb ram of corsair but i can;t run the Xmp at all,as my current frequency is 3200 !Can i use you're values if i have 3200 frequency !Thanks a lot !
!
Can i use the same values and just change with 32 ?
You can try the same and see what happens but not sure it will work or not. Thank you for watching and the comment.
I have dual channel 2666mhz. Can I overclock it for 3200mhz? Is there a risk doing this?
No risk as long as you stay below a RAM voltage under 1.45V... 1.35V is the stock setting usually.
Thanks for helping Willian with his question.
No harm in trying to OC to 3200mhz. it may not work but there is no risk in trying. Thanks for watching and the comment.
i can't believe i have to do this but thank you so much
You are welcome. Thanks for watching and the comment.
hi,
can you please tell me the settings if i want to oc to 3000 or max 3200?
Will you need to play with it and see what is the best settings for your system. Thanks for watching and the comment.
How much oc can i do with xpg d60 3600mhz on b550 aorus pro
Not sure depends on how good your ram kit is at overclocking. Thanks for watching and the comment.
