a suggestion for knitting needles, large sheet of sturdy sewable plastic, make narrow slots to slide each set in individually, finding the particular set will be easy, make it hangable, attach fabric for decor that could be framed by the ends of those wonderful knitting needles
I try to make lap throws for nursing homes in my area to give away during Christmas. With yarn being so expensive I can’t afford to do as many as I would like to. What a blessing for you to have such much yarn, you never know how much stuff we accumulate until you pull it out. Looks great.
My grandma use to make Granny Squares Afghan with the left over yarns, no color patterns just all her left overs. White for the outside and putting it together, and one had black for the outside and putting together. Us grandkids use to snuggle up in them when we came down to watch cartoons lol.
Both of my Grandmothers were seamstresses and they both began teaching me at a very young age ( I think I was 3). Needless to say, I inherited most of the vintage sewing supplies and tools since I am the sewer in the family. I ended up making Shadow boxes for the items I adored and couldn't part with. I did 4 narrow but tall shadow boxes (4 ft tall x 10 in wide x 4" deep), lined them with a vintage fabric and added glass fronts. They look great, keep stuff off my "work spaces", and they are a fantastic compliment to my sewing / craft room.
That's a great idea! I have inherited quite a bit from both sides of my family (I have a deep genetic connection to fiber crafts too!). I'll definitely look into this.
Inspirational! Thanks! Since early November (it's now late July) my sewing, etc. room has been non-existent, and everything is piled up all over the house - living room, kitchen, porch, laundry and beyond. In our 70s now and with my husband's mobility declining with CMT, we moved our bedroom down from the garrett to my former sewing room (formerly a daughter's room 😂). But my husband didn't want us to touch anything else after our daughter's family moved the bed and tv down. It's been a long stretch of him sorting, saving, donating, discarding stuff. (I have much to live up to.) But light is around the corner. Within 2 weeks I hope to have painters in (our daughter's gang again) then have a new floor laid (where up to now we've had carpet over subfloor) so I can sweep up dropped pins. Then I begin my share of 9 month's sorting, etc., etc. 🤸♀️
This video and the yarn organization video were great inspiration. I’m in mid-organization of my space now and this has encouraged me to keep going on it! Looking forward to more videos!
I loved seeing your reorganizing of your creative space!!!😍❤️👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻You made such lovely choices to display and edit what stays. What a beautiful shawl you found😍 and I adore your sweet kitties.😸😸
Amazing! I got lucky & picked up an old garage cubby. It was in rough shape but Hubby & I filled it with wood putty, in the rough spots. He painted it with a paint sprayer. So greatful for that, all those little knocs & crannies! Then the genius he is, it was so heavy he put it on top of an old heavy dresser I had also redid. And used floor jacks on top of the dresser to get it up high enough & steady while he attached it safely to the wall. It was genius. I didn't know how we would ever hold it up to fasten it. But he always comes up with a way to make my ideas perfected. It's at least 7 ft. Long & 4 ft. tall. It holds an amazing amount of yarn. I am a crocheter. Know nothing about knitting. Started crocheting around 10 & am now 65. Trying to expand my knowledge on that. Utube is an amazing outlet for that. Wish it was around 55 yrs. Ago. It would have been a wonderful way to learn new things. Better late than never as they say! You did an amazing job, on organizing your craft room.. wish I could show you mine, it turned out amazing as well. Mostly reclaimed items for storage.
Thank you for releasing these kind of videos!! This video (as well as your organizing yarn stash and recording them unto Ravelry) is very helpful as I am organizing my yarn and craft supplies since I am moving into a university dorm very soon!
It turned out beautiful! I feel hopeful that I may get to a peaceful place in my crafting world…. Thank you for sharing your journey to a place to enjoy! ♥️
Wow! I’m very impressed. I didn’t think it was possible to make sense of all the stuff and organize it. You have a cozy and more efficient room now. Looking forward to more of your fiber and sewing ideas. Those felt baskets are adorable! I love the cats too! Mine like to hang out with me also.
I loved seeing this! My craft storage is 1/4 of my shared fitted bedroom wardrobe. I have an IKEA cube unit that holds my yarn, embroidery tools and fabric. My sewing machine and overlocker sit on the top. I love having my own little crafty space!
Lovely I just choose similar colour for my walls and hesitates betwin grey or white ....I thi k I will go same way as you ....wood grey and soft blueish hue are very relaxing relaxing for eyes.
I loved the sewing area with all of the vintage items. Where did you find the sewing machine cover, it's so cool. Did it come with the machine? I am a crafter but I came across your video and thought I'd take a look. I love how you had a vision for ithe room and how it turned out. The curtains are beautiful and are perfect for it.
Thank you for video. Awesome. You have given me some really great ideas. I am in the middle of organizing my sewing/ crochet/ quilting/ cross stitching areas. Can you come and help me. 👏

very nice video 🙂

what is that strawberry bowl with 3 holes and a cutout used for just curious thanks for filming
It's a yarn bowl! The ball of yarn can roll around a bit inside the bowl while you use it and not fall off the table.

You have to decide what you can do in your lifetime and. Then keep only what you really love.
Nice size studio with plenty of sunlight. I'd just do a tidy, give the cats away and call it done. TFS!
Hope you donated and tossed some things!!!!
Thank you for video. Awesome. You have given me some really great ideas. I am in the middle of organizing my sewing/ crochet/ quilting/ cross stitching areas. Can you come and help me. 👏
You got this!
I cannot hear you over the music in the background.
Funny thing is I loved your craft room before you started your clean out
It was fine, but it wasn't very practical. I really never used it 🤷🏼♀️
Forgive me…what’s a UFO?
I like your video but the cat should not be on your work desk, no meanesss intended. I do like cats too.
