As a lifelong Carlisle supporter, the great escape will always be one of my favourites moments, but I do feel a little sad for the Scarborough supporters and what they had to go through over the next 6/7 years and eventually losing their club. It could have been Carlisle if it wasn't for the legendary boot of Mr. Jimmy Glass.
One of my favorite football moments. Couldn't make it to the game, but remember listening to it at home and going crazy after the goal. Just to point out, Jimmy Glass Jazz Bar is in Valencia. I guess there could be one in Ibiza as well, but can't find any mention of it. It's also unfortunately not named after the great man, as it was founded long before his CUFC heroics. I've heard it's named after a jazz musician of the same name, but can't find any reference.
Nigel Pearson, the Carlisle manager also engineered Leicester's great escape with 8 wins in their last 11 games, his position became untenable after his son went on a racist rantpage in the Far East, Ranieri came in and the rest is folklore
I was there that day. The greatest escape 😎

Fantastic and balanced review of the ‘Great Escape’.. Your video brought it all back to me. Thank you
Ah shame you haven't done more, this is great - would like to have seen your take on Everton 1994 and 1998.
Agreed, this guy could do well with mini docs if he came back to youtube

Elated for Carlisle, gutted for Scarborough 😢
