A demonstration of a Reese Towpower Canoe Loader. This is an easy to use accessory to load a canoe on any vehicle by yourself. Links to purchase are listed in the description. As always, I look forward to reading your comments.......Take care,Bluefin.
Good ole newfie right there! Could hear it in your voice before I spotted the plate. Thanks for the video, just picked one up yesterday but watched this before I bought it.
It is a great system to load a canoe or kayak. Thanks for watching and taking the time to watch and comment, I appreciate it........Take care, Bluefin.
It will make a world of difference. It will be so much easier to load and unload a canoe. I have since sold my canoe and I now have several kayaks. I bought a Malone MicroSport kayak trailer. This is a pretty sweet setup also. Here is a link to that trailer video if you are interested: ruclips.net/video/RfVSz0r110Y/видео.html I hope you enjoy your new Reese Towpower Canoe Loader.........Take care, Bluefin.
A great system for me. I wish I had one years ago. Well I've been lax in responding to my video comments, sorry but I totally missed some of them on this video. I will try to respond to comments much quicker this year as I do love reading them.......Take care, Bluefin.
With this system it is just so easy. I have since sold this canoe loader and replaced the car also. I now use a Malone MicroSport kayak trailer. Here is a video about the trailer: ruclips.net/video/RfVSz0r110Y/видео.html Thanks for stopping by........Take care, Bluefin.
Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. I appreciate it. I’m sure you will find using this product very easy to use and you will get more time in your boat with this back saver....... Take care, Bluefin.
That's a pretty cool way to load. I kinda thought you would push the canoe through and onto the roof rack. I wasn't expecting you to walk around to the front, but I've never seen one used. Very nice. That should help a lot of people. We have kayaks i used to push on top of a van but finally bought a trailer instead. Thanks for sharing.
It is a totally different way to load but it is so easy. I did have a trailer for the canoe for many years but the trailer finally rusted out after 23 years of use. This was a good option......Take care, Bluefin.
I’m glad this video may have helped you. This system is so easy to connect to a vehicle and load a canoe or heavy kayak. I loved using it on that car......Take care, Bluefin.
Works well and easy to setup and use. Well I've been lax in responding to my video comments, sorry but I totally missed some of them on this video. I will try to respond to comments much quicker this year as I do love reading them.......Take care, Bluefin.
I have been working on some way to load my canoe on my car by my self for ages wood rack PVC pipe gave up today then saw this I like it alot I need to go a bit higher I hope it will work in my honda element
This will work with your Honda Element. The load rack is very adjustable for any height vehicle. The Honda Element is near the size of my older Soul in this video......Take care, Bluefin.
@@mustang774 yup it works just got one from princess auto in toronto canada $ 89 half the price on amazon it does leave my14 foot sports pal canoe more at the back of my element my hitch is long and i got one to give me a little more height i needed it for the element so it is not centered on car roof but the reese rack makes a third connecting point i will use a better strap on it. also some straps to take the play out of the reese loader. i also have some yakama canoe clamps it is kinda nice not having the canoe in the windshield. i used some high heat spray glue and clamped the protective strips till dry i think most don"t clean the metal first before attaching them thanks
@@danielbyrne5862 Good price. That is about what I paid for mine on Amazon a few years ago. The bungee cord strap is just used to hold the end of the canoe from slipping off the rack when you are loading it. I'm glad it is working out for you. It will make going canoeing more enjoyable now that it easier to load it on the car. I recently got a new car and it has a glass roof with a panoramic sunroof. My old roof rack would not fit and my wife wanted me to get a kayak / canoe trailer instead of loading on the roof. I will have a video about the trailer next month. I was very pleased with my canoe loader and it is a great option.......Take care, Bluefin.
This is a great setup for my canoe and car. It is much easier to load the canoe with this. Well I've been lax in responding to my video comments, sorry but I totally missed some of them on this video. I will try to respond to comments much quicker this year as I do love reading them.......Take care, Bluefin.
It certainly does make it much easier. I had a trailer for the canoe for years but it finally rusted out after 23 years. This rack is very easy to mount on my hitch and get the canoe up on the roof......Take care, Bluefin.
How much heigher can it be extended? What I am thinking is to use it as a pole point to hang my hammock while camping if there an't suitable TWO trees or only ONE tree is available. Eh?
I think that is close to about high as it can go. Sorry I can't be of more help and be able to measure it for you. About six months after I posted this video, I purchased a new Kia Soul with a full glass roof and I sold the canoe loader and purchased a Malone Micro Sport canoe and kayak trailer.......Take care, Bluefin.
Very interesting but I have question if it rattles or vibrates when you drive on the freeway? If yes, how do you mitigate it? I think I will get one for may Coleman Scanoe.. 😊
Yes it will rattle a little when driving over bumps. It is not really bad at all. In my opinion it is much easier to load a canoe on the car with this and a rattle is a small price to pay for the benefit you get with this. If you have this rack a little higher than your roof rack the canoe will rest on the front rack of your vehicle and this t- rack . It will not rest on your rear roof rack. There is a rubber strip on the top bar of this. The rattle is not as bad. Hope this helps you.........Take care, Bluefin.
@@mustang774 Really appreciate the reply from you, With that being said, I just click add to cart 😁 Your sharing of your knowledge and experiences would really benefit us alot and make our excursion more enjoyable without poking a hole in our pocket. Thanks and Take Care! 👍🏼
It will work well for your kayak with the added benefit of more space to lay the kayak on as most roof rack bars are very close together.......Take care, Bluefin.
With this model canoe loader you would need the tongue part of the hitch that slides into the receiver partoff the hitch. You don't actually need the ball part. There are truck bed extender t-bars similar to this that can be mounted a similar way into a 2" square receiver with no need for a tongue and ball.......Take care, Bluefin.
It comes with the kit. Well it did when I bought it. It is only necessary if you want to use the hitch ball to tow a trailer and still use the loader bar. I'm sure a metal shop could make one for you if needed. It has two holes to mount a ball hitch through. Use the second hole for the load bar if that makes sense........Take care, Bluefin.
I wish they would. I know quite a few people have purchased them after watching this video. Enjoy your canoe loader and thanks for watching and taking the time to comment..... Take care, Bluefin .
I have a strap from the front of the canoe to the front corners of the car. One middle strap around the canoe and around the roof rack (strap is red and a little difficult to see) The rear strap goes from rear of the canoe down to the hitch. Thanks for watching......Take care, Bluefin.
😄 I would too if I left the hitch on. As soon as I finish towing or using the T-bar I always remove the hitch extension and ball. Years ago on the first car I had a hitch on, It was not removable....I hit my shin on it and said the next one would be removable for certain.........Take care, Bluefin.

Thanks Calvin. Makes it much easier to load the canoe on my car.......Take care, Bluefin.
That is cool and easy. I don’t have a trailer hitch though. LOL
Makes it easy. I had a trailer but it rusted out. This was a good option instead of buying another trailer......Take care, Bluefin.
Where can I get that small metal piece you mentioned? I don’t think it comes with the purchase.

Hey I'm new here, really cool and informative channel
Welcome to the channel, I hope you enjoy my videos.......Take care, Bluefin.
Interesting he doesn't strap to the roof racks. He uses a loop that appears to come out of the rear door.

If I would have invented that, I might be on vacation on some tropical island. Oh well. =)
I guess you would be 😀 It does work well, much easier to load my canoe now......Take care, Bluefin.
Well isn't that cool. I picked up an old canoe I am restoring and the biggest issue I have is the loading as it is so heavy. Great vid
If your vehicle has a hitch this may be a good option for you. I certainly love how easy it is to load my heavy canoe......Take care, Bluefin.
I know what I'd do. Rip my leg on that tow ball extension :)
