This was THE spider-man game for me as a kid. I used to beat it like once a day after school. There are a few hidden rooms where you can earn a lot of extra lives to make it easier. I see you have some "invulnerability" going on in this run though. :p
Holy moly! I remember renting this game at my local video store and my older brother couldn’t beat the game.....so instead he beat me for choosing a difficult game. Good times 😎
This game was kinda Difficult. I just remember gradually getting farther and farther every couple of playthroughs. It became an every-other day routine of me trying to clear this game.
The human bosses are a pain to fight but if you can get the 1 hit KO on them it is easy. For example the first one with the 2 girls they come out on both sides of you so if you start the fight clinging to the back wall and wait till they appear and are lined up you then drop down and press A for the double web attack, you make them bump heads and they die in 1 hit. Most of the human bosses have this same exploit.
I had way too much time on my hands as a lad and beat this at least a dozen times. The double webbing collisions were super op, just felt hard to reliably trigger.
I loved this game when I was young. Even though it was ball-crushingly hard. I was even stoked to see a generic bad guy named Bret. No one is named Bret, especially with only one “t”. Ah nostalgia
I've only ever played the sequel, "Seperation Anxiety." It was stripped down by comparison. There were no comic panels or text bubbles. Instead, there were black screens with exposition in between levels. There was a bit more variety in the bosses, though. You fight the five symbiotes pulled from Venom, three guys in power armor & a giant robot. You don't fight Carnage until the final level
