When Gail bent over and spilled all the zip-ties! Oh, that's exactly the thing I would do! 😄
That's just what I thought!
🤭me too.
Moi aussi!
ME TOO😂
Same here.
Under Shwoopervision...
😄
I suddenly realized I watched 2 people mowing or cutting grass last week, and I wasn't mad at that... Love you two.
What a lovely area you 2 live in. Im 74 now but remember my uncles had farms with horses etc i loved visiting them I love the countryside so much . Cannot beat it. I love how you and your mum get on. Thank you for this channel
I love how your little birds follow you around Alex. They love you in their bird-like way.
She's like a Disney princess the way they love and follow her on her journeys ❤️
I love their singing.
Two fearless talented women warriors!!! We need to see more of this!!!
I’m in NZ, wisteria here can be a pain & a problem weed. If you want it to grow well, use blood & bone fertiliser, the scent from the flowers will be glorious. Be careful with putting things into the mortar, if the rain gets in it can erode the mortar over time. Not good! You can get hooks that clip into brick walls which don’t damage the walls, they are excellent for just what you are doing. It’s nice to see other folk run out of things just like we do, zip ties especially! 😊😊
I don't know if it's the same wisteria that I had here in Kentucky but it took over and ripped the gutter off the garage then caved the roof in. It gets woody and extremely heavy.
My house was covered in wisteria on the front face-couldn't even see the cedar siding of the house at all. One day after a little windstorm I came home from work and the whole plant lay across the front lawn, in a solid leafy sheet; couldn't see a blade of grass it was so covered. I'd never seen my house before actually and it was a shock. At any rate, you have a stone house so you may fare better, but I can tell you a few puny staples will never hold it as it gets big and heavy. I'd advise pruning heavily each fall. It will all grow back come spring. Also note that is nearly un-killable. When we decided to do away with the plant, we dug down three feet and as wide, to get out the whole root. But any little piece of root or stem left in the ground will come back. It's been a decade and I still pull out little wisteria plants that pop up where the root had been! If you plant Wisteria, make very sure you really want it!
Don't worry Alex Wisteria is very resilient, it will be back !!!
Ladies this is the most relaxing channel ever! Well done you!
Put coffee grounds and tea bags on the roses. This will feed the roses and make them come back.
The lilacs get really big you’re probably gonna have to eventually put them in the ground. Just a heads up if you don’t know, I apologize if you do! And certain types of wisteria can be evasive and again I do like the direction of this channel. I enjoy, watching your beautiful piece of property develop! 😊
Hello lovelies. Thank you for sharing your successes as well as failures with the peacock and peahens new enclosure. Loved watching you work together.
Love watching you Ladies work together. I’m fascinated with your skills and your beautiful property. ❤
Precious runty you are looking good
That was very funny when Gail bent over and dropped all the zip ties
Thanks for the laughs
Wish I could live near you. So much to do around your farm and I'm one of those that loves that kind of thing. I'm a bit jelly of your hair Alex, it is so pretty.
Alex, when placing a ladder put the bottom 1 foot out for every 4 feet up. You won't have to lean in so far to work and there is less chance of the bottom slipping . The second rule is to keep your belt buckle between the side rails.
We were both yelling at the tv "move the ladder closer to the wall!"
Contract Scaffolding have been on the phone. They said, can they have their ladders back please?? 🤣🤣🤣
Love it. I miss my mother so much. We had a little 5 acre farm. My mother was a widow with 5 children 10 months to eight years. We raised chickens and had truck patches to sell vegtables at the market. It was back in the 50s and 60s but still very hard. She also made all our clothes. I never remember her sleeping.
It might have been easier to cut the wisteria down and train it from scratch.
You’re probably right but I was determined! 😄
The wisteria is going to be beautiful when it matures and trail over the doorway. Its always nice to have a beautiful entryway that way you admire it on the way in and out. Love the video.😊
* You have a beautiful trio of directors & inspectors making sure that you pass inspections.. The Plants are taking over your yard. So much work for the Rose Garden.. Can't wait until next year...
The doorway will be so lovely when the wisteria fills in and it will smell wonderful. We have one that starts near the house and goes through all the trees to the front fence. It's the only flowers my goats can't reach! I'm loving your new channel!
Thank you for your candid information. Our hearts are with the family. 'No more will there be sorrow or pain.' (Rev. 21 vs 4) ❤ UK.
Oh, to have been able to smell the perfume of the lilacs, wonderful choice for cottage gardens.
Watching your videos are just made for relaxing on a Sunday. A lot of hard work again, but it will be worth it.
Having your own place is always a lot of work but it's yours . We just bought a new shed because our old one is about to cave in.We are also in the process of building a handicap ramp off our front porch because we're not getting any younger!
I love you both..Entertaining and relaxed show.Beautiful.
I have very fond childhood memories of huge lilac bushes in our yard. You will love them in a few years.❤
I am loving these videos. You prune wisteria in the 2nd month, February, to 5 buds and then again in July, 7th month to three buds this will make it flower. Just remember 2 and 7. Am so pleased to see you working away on the garden with the support of the shroos. Stay safe.
Wonderful….I would love to be there helping you even if it was just to keep the tea flowing !! I love the way you are prepared to have a go at anything , reminds me of my dear Mum who through necessity tackled anything and everything…..she would adore you home and it’s environs !
I got a giggle from when mom bent over and all the zip ties fell out of her pocket. I can relate to that all too well. Love your videos!
I love wisteria. Lilacs are my favorite smell. I approve.😊
I love your Peacocks and your hens...And I hate to be the bearer of bad news!
NOTHING, in the Schroo / Hen run will discourage predators!
A Fox 🦊 will walk through it.
A badger 🦡 will go under it.
And a Pine Martin won't even see it.
Keep your birds safe over winter and in the springtime I'll come and build you a proper run! x
Thank you, Joseph, but we have lived in the countryside our entire lives and know all about predators. The pen is for daytime use only and quite sufficient for what we require. We're also very capable of building anything we want ourselves.
DIY is so my jam, but at 73 with a health issue, those days are few and far between. So watching you tests my "chill" as I find myself trying to help via the screen. Good job, ladies.
🧡💜 lilacs are my all-time favorite flowers🧡💜
HI GAIL AND ALEX!! MOVING FORWARD WITH YOUR FLOWERS AND TREES. A LILAC TREE IS MY FAVORITE FLOWER. MY AUNT USED TO FILL MY ARMS WITH THEM BEFORE GOING HOME. SHE HAD A TREE OUTSIDE HER KITCHEN AND WHEN SHE COOKED BREAKFAST, THOSE SCENTS OF FLOWERS, BACON, EGGS AND FRESH BREAD WAFTED UP THE STAIRS TO WAKE YOU DELIGHTFULLY. I LOVE HOW YOUR BIRDS FOLLOW YOU AROUND AND ARE CURIOUS ABOUT EVERYTHING. NICE TEAM WORK IN DOING ALL THESE CHORES. I'M EAGER TO SEE THINGS PROGRESS. TAKE YOUR TIME THOUGH WE DON'T WANT YOU BOTH SICK. WELL, LOVELY VIDEO, LOVE THE MUSIC, SOUNDS LIKE ALEX SINGING IN SOME OF THEM. BEAUTIFUL VOICE. WELL THANKS FOR SHARING THIS AND PLEASE STAY SAFE AND HEALTHY ❤️ 🙏 💜

Hi from southern California USA. I love you videos and my daughter bought me some bottles from your website. I was so thrilled! I love your idea of a rose garden. Double Delight is a favorite rose of mine. Much love and appreciation, Marilyn
Love watching you with all your projects ❤
British Columbia
I am having so much fun watching your videos!
Man schwoo was trying so hard! “Put it away” 😆
You both work so hard,I love watching you.Where you live looks so peaceful & beautiful❤
Love watching & learning right along with you on both your channels!💕
Thank you for sharing your lives with us. Not that my opinion counts but I'd love to hear how you decided to move to Scotland, how you chose the house you chose, history of the area and your home. Maybe some drone views of the area. ❤
I second that!
I would love to see some of the insides of the farmhouse. I have never seen inside or outside of a Scottish farmhouse. It looks so charming!
I so enjoy watching you both work on your property. Be careful on that ladder Alex, put it closer to the house, the farther away the bottom step is from the wall, the easier it is for your weight to make it slide out from under you, especially on a gravel surface.
Boy schwoo is trying to impress the girls eh? When his tail feathers grow in he’ll really be a handsome dude.
Enjoying your new channel. You both are amazing.
Don't hesitate to prune wisteria. I used to live in a tall old Victorian house that had a wisteria vine that started at the base of the north wall, and it climbed all the way across the roof and halfway down the south side of the house. In spring when it bloomed it was beautiful, the lush green leaves kept the house cool in summer, but they need frequent cutting back to be stopped from taking over. The rose probably needs a repotting or being planted in the yard. How exciting with all the new plants you are getting 🌹
I,m so enjoying these videos , you have a wonderful relationship , absolute joy to watch , keep them coming ❤
Where I am at the wisteria can be very invasive although the flowers are beautiful and smell terrific, they can grow spreading their roots all over your lawn the stems and trunks can get as big and bigger than your thigh and as tall as a 4 story building., and it can choke out your trees, hopefully it doesn't grow like that where you are. They were planted back in the day to create baskets and furniture with, they would be tied up following the design of the furniture they were intended for. Lovely flowering trees! Your rose bush was rootbound I would guess. Better to plant it in the soil, and work old coffee grounds into the soil about 1 1/2 inches down into the soil to help it grow, and depending on soil old banana peels too, it gives them a extra boost. at least here it did for me. I grew quite a few for the farm state fair when I was a young teen and won a few blue ribbons for them. and the cultivation of some black roses. Your shwoos are so beautiful, my the male loves to show off doesn't he? :) Oh if you ever wanted to see what or rather how thoe wisteria can be in the south USA I also follow THE OLD BYRD FARM which as it turns out a distant relative of mine. He has battled the wisteria for a long time. If you watch the beginnings of his channel you will see them before he was able to get into the farm house. I love the flowers myself, very beautiful
Alex that was quite the project on that vine. My birthday was the 24th of May, interesting to see what you were doing at that time!
A pressure washer would be a really good investment to clean up the brick on your house.
Lilacs are my favorite flowers. You two are working so hard.
My friend use to raise peacocks and it was so funny when the male did his show off dance.
I enjoy watching you two work together. You have such a great relationship. Your birds are so curious. I bet they do get in the way of progress sometimes. The lilacs are a gorgeous bush to have for spring. And I think the vibe over the door looks great. It'll pay off in the long term. ❤❤❤❤❤
Alex and Gail, lilac is one of my favorite scented flowers, along with wisteria & roses...lavender as well. It's inspiring to see you two ladies showing the world that we can tackle all sorts of challenges and rise to the occasion. Love seeing the shwoos following you around and being curious about your activities. Take care and thank you for inviting me and us into your garden and home. Greetings from eastern North Carolina, USA. ❤❤
Well done your doing such amazing work. Stay safe.😊
You twist wisteria and each plant has a particular direction that it grows either right or left. You could put a high trellis on the wall of the building. Look at the pole or branch from the base (from the direction from which the vine is growing). Native wisteria, Wisteria frutescens, and Chinese wisteria, Wisteria sinensis, twine from left to right - clockwise, and Japanese wisteria, Wisteria floribunda, twines from right to left - counterclockwise.
I would think twice about covering that gutter above the door. Run the vine under the gutter so the plant doesn’t disrupt or clog that water running. It’s going to look amazing with those beautiful flowers growing around the entrance
There is no gutter above the door
Looking forward to the next video!
Nice work and Thank you for sharing your video.
Down one side of our yard we have lilac bushes. There are 100s of bushes and in May and June they smell wonderful. They grow and spread very fast. Every spring we have to go down the front of them and cut down all the new growth. If we don’t our entire yard would be lilacs. They would take over.
That made me laugh, thats the kind of thing I would do.
I have a giant wisteria on the side of my house as well. I call it (and the stray mint plants in my garden) “apocalypse weed” because we’ll all be gone after the zombies get us but the wisteria and mint will be just fine lol. That stuff is amazing 😂😂
This was a brilliant relaxing video thank you ladies
Alex, you have the patience of Jobe
Yet another amazing video ladies. The Shwoo Cage is coming along. The garden is going to be gorgeous. And oh yes, love the new hat Alex.
I love the smell of Lilacs. In the U.S. I'm from Mackinac Island Michigan. Every June they have a Lilac festival. If your ever over this way you should go. You would love it. Oh on Mackinac Island there are only vehicles for emergencies only
There are horse drawn carriages for everything else. That and bicycles.
Japanese lilac is extremely fragrant . The plant going over the door grows very very fast and can become a pain in the .
It's always nice to see someone else working! I can always give you my address😂 Well done both. ❤ UK
I have a giant Lilac bush at the foot of our front steps. It grown so fast that it'
needs trimming all the time
Hi.
The pink flowers in the rose pot are Aquilegia (I'm sure you know by now! ) They do self seed .
🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 please, please move the bottom of your ladder closer to the wall! Not straight up & down. Yes, you will be a little higher up... That ladder can slip right out from under you. The way you had it by the door 🚪 🥰
and put on proper shoes
Keep the geraniums! You’ll find them a new spot in your lovely farm.
Alex you work as hard as a. man do be careful my friend 👍♥️🗝️❤️
You all are hard workers, your ladder should be 1 foot out for every 4 feet of height. .Be safe
Honeysuckle or jasmine would take off like a wild fire.
Lilac is really easy to root from cuttings 😊 I love the smell I have one out my in my back garden 😊
Great job with the wisteria. I love lilacs. I have so many on my property and most I grew from cuttings. So pretty in the spring and the smell is amazing.
Hello,
Enjoy watching your progress. Your Mom just brought home the pink lilac. When you mentioned putting it by the door, it came to mind...lilac and jasmin smell so good together.
I had a bed with lilac, jasmin, and honeysuckle in it.
I live in Missoula, Montana, USA.
Lawrence
i can't wait to see Man Shwu 's full feathers.....
Hello Gail and Alex! The pen is coming along great!! Never fails...we always some how run out of something to stop a project you're really wanting to finish!🙄Lol Alex, you put in the time and effort on separating all the vines and it's going to look beautiful when it's all plush, green and blooming with flowers, can't wait to see it! The Lilac Gail brought back was so pretty and I bet it does smell lovely. Funny how we only go to the store for a couple of items and come back with twenty...naught naughty!🤣😂 Hope the zip ties have come in, are y'all going to have one end of the pen covered, not covered at all or completely covered in case the Shwoo's want to get out of the weather? A roll of that clear, heavy duty plastic sheeting would work. As windy as it gets, anchors for the pen will be pertinent. So excited to see it all come together!! I had to laugh at "man Shwoo"...he was strutting his stuff!😂 LOL Have a wonderful day...Big ((Hugs)) and Love from Texas!!🤗🦚💙😊
you made my day, lovely Ladies! I so enjoy watching you working together and seeing how you learn how to do things ... Gail was so clever to put the zip ties in her top pocket,
I thought🤣 Alex your patience is commendable with the wisteria, you did a great job! Gail buying more trees, I certainly would too. the scenery, music, & all your animals make it seem so magical there! If this is a video from May, I'm guessing you have many other video's waiting to upload? Cannot wait, thank you for posting 🥰🐔🦚🦜🌺🌳🌱🍀
Those plants that you want to remove for your Rosegarden look like Lysimachia vulgaris or Lysimachia punctata to me. They will pop up elsewhere. :)
They grow all over our garden!
Hang a chain high above the door over to the wall bracket that is already in place for the vine to grow around. Then you can train it as it grows and not have to cut it. I have enjoyed all your videos! All the best to you from Memphis, Tennessee, USA
Alex the vine looks good and basic bend to where you want it to travel...real nice work.
We had lilacs in England. They were huge, but one got destroyed in the hurricain. The smell of them was heady. We also had grapes, but we were in the south, and mum being Italian wanted grapes. We had cypress and laburnum, a weeping willow, lots of other plants for a small area. I wish I could send you a picture of my jungle here in Spain.
🎵The sisters are doing it for themselves”🎵 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏💗💗
Fantastic video again 👍😀 Just be really careful Alex that scaffolding ladder was out way too far 🙈 you needed to take it in a foot or so! Maybe wait for your mum to foot it next time, 💚
Another lovely video! Trying to train my wisteria and grape vines is a full time occupation! They never seem to want to behave! 😅
Hi Gail and Alex, so this is what you do when you are not mudlarking! My goodness you both work so very hard. You deserve a shiny medal. I adore the Schwoos, they're new babies and l can see blue peacock is still a baby, his tail has yet to grow long and full. I love them both. ❤ to you all and a pat and a cuddle for the kitties. You know l love them. Love Janice xxx
It's just little details but for a plant and animal lover like me it would have given e some satisfaction to have seen you let the cat in and watered those new trees.
Maybe clean off the walls with a pressure washer and then put up two trellises, one on each side and the plant could be attached to it.
.
Cable ties falling out 😅😅😅😅
Makes me nervous to see you on that ladder Alex. I had a ladder accident 2017. Busted my shoulder had to have surgery and 10 months of therapy just to be able to pick my arm back over my head. Please be careful. I dealt with ladders for many many years and only takes one accident. I don't think I could stop crying if something happened like that to you. It was the most painful experience I've ever been through. Please look at Podium Ladders when you shop for one.
You may want to google how much space a lilac bush needs to grow. I know the roots are shallow but they will spread and I think they may need a lot more room than that pot . You may want to put them in the ground.
You both have a great sense of color, and scents too. How long have you been farming there Alex? I am being nosy so do not feel the need to answer if you'd rather not. I think you both are rocking it!
Your landscaping is going to be lovely.
Very talented yous two
I love your place ever since I first saw it. How peaceful it must be. How well you guys work together, so nice to watch. It quite the opposite with me and my mother It's hellishly funny to put it nicely.
