- *If anyone gets a message advising you to not use Substratum on 7.1.1, you can ignore it. As long as you're using a theme that says it's compatible with 7.1.1, you will be fine.

thanks for the detailed tutorial. Can you make a video on to how uninstall theme and substratum properly (just in case whenever needed)? And also what happens when you build and enable overlays (for ex every overlay has folder in /data/app etc .. I think it would be very helpful 😀

Is substratum work on Android nine device without root my device? Because I have heard some apps which allows other apps to grant them root access is it true? Also what are those apps name which allow the substratum to root access to my Android 9 phone. Became I don't want to go to root. And but I want the dark and more colourful themes :-(
Hey so I'm new to Substratum but find it very interesting :) I have a Nexus 6p, rooted and using the Pixel Mod. Is it as simple as you showed in the video to install Substratum and the various themes or do I need to do something else to my phone?
+Eduardo Medina It should be as simple as what I showed in the video. Just make sure that the theme you want says that it works with your version of Android.

+Eduardo Medina It depends on what themes you want to install. If you download a substratum theme from the play store, you should look in the description to make sure that it says it will work with Android 7.1.2. Some only work with 6.0, 7.0, or 7.1.1.

how to disable the theme? how to disable the system ui theme after applying the theme?

I've a rooted phone running on android 7.0...but whenever i install theme and install using substratum it says error log...and after reboot the bar and setting UI work but other thing are not change...plss give me solution...using lenovo k6 power
+Shivam Pandey Ideally substratum should be used on devices running stock Android 6.0. However you can still use substratum if the theme you are using says that it will work with other versions. My guess is that your device is too far away from stock Android and it's causing some conflicts.

Great video! However, I've tried this on my Pixel XL but I continue to get a "Superuser permissions denied, unable to continue without root" error message. How do I get around this problem?

I'm running a fresh copy of Oreo. I do not have a custom ROM.

+Jordan Hubbard The Google Pixel can be a little tricky when it comes to figuring that out. Just make sure that your theme says that it's compatible with the Google Pixel as not all will work with it.

You can use Substratum on OnePlus devices just like in the video.
*Just make sure you install a theme that supports OnePlus devices and your version of Oxygen OS.

You would have to find a theme specifically for oxygen OS marshmallow. Those might be hard to find though.
If you can flash LineageOS 15.1 Oreo, there are many substratum themes that support it.

+illuminati - the legend I'd recommend checking with the ROM developer and asking if the ROM has OMS.

+Syaidi Didi No, Substratum is only guaranteed to work on stock Nexus or Pixel devices. Using it on a Samsung device could cause problems.
