- Standing Yoga for Seniors - Yoga for Seniors - Standing Yoga - Senior Yoga. This senior exercise routine is especially designed for seniors and beginners. This gentle standing yoga practice focuses on stretching, strength, and balance. Many modifications are shown throughout the yoga practice that make this class very accessible for people that are senior citizens or complete beginners. This yoga class is great for beginners and new yogis, as the practice moves slowly through gentle stretching. The practice starts with a standing warm-up that brings awareness to the breath. Then the class progresses into some deeper standing stretching. The yoga practice ends in standing breath work that brings awareness to the breath to increase relaxation in the body.
Two yoga blocks are the suggested props for this yoga practice. You can still do the full yoga class even if you don’t have any yoga props.

Just discovered your channel. Yogi of 20 years able to do mostly intermediate practice. But started losing balance many years ago which has resulted in avoiding standing work. Frustrating not being able to do poses which were quite easy at one time. Found this sequence challenging but effective, with the potential to help regain some of what was lost. (As much as the old joints, diminished flexibility and wobbliness will allow.) Will check out your other standing routines. Pleasant teaching style with good pacing. Thanks.
