    I test drove one Sunday and I only wish I’d come home with it so cute and picks up speed 😊

    Great review! One small detail, the cargo cover will store behind the rear passenger seats in the track built into the seat backs. I like this car and am thinking about buying one.

    OK, for those that don't know any better, this vehicle is for the everyday driver that wants reliability
    and economy in one package, If you are looking for Asian/EURO styling, tack another 10k on it and look at a Nissan, Toyota or Honda or VW that start out @ 30k. However if you are conscious of $$$$ and commute to work, or through the city. This is a great vehicle !! you can't say it lacks power but NEVER even drove the thing??! but you drove "similar" cars like a Cruz and a Buick?? that's like me reviewing a F430 Ferrari and saying "It drives like a Go kart" because I once drove a Go kart. C"MON !!!
    The American auto market is getting it's ass KICKED!!! by the foreign automobile market, that's why (WE) have to (as you say) cut corners on styling and power to compete.. It's quite obvious Japan owns this market (hands down). They build a superior product honestly but ask ALOT for it.. Chevy is just trying to keep it's foot in the door in a market that is heavily saturated by overseas companies,, Give them a BREAK !! Support Merica !!

    Can anyone tell me what that little dome-shaped camera looking thing in the middle of the dashboard all the way up by the windshield on the inside of the car is?

    Well, you covered a lot when reviewing this vehicle except for the most important, being a mobile vehicle: how does it drive? How about the 4WD? How's the traction? How does it fair in bad weather? And lastly, towing capacity? I read that the Trax has none while the FOrd Ecosport can pull something like 1300 lbs, although I doubt it. Thanks.

      Didn’t get to drive it. Different dealerships have different insurance policies preventing me from driving the cars.

    Can you open the rear hatch without getting out of the car for someone else or if it is raining? No open button on the key fob. Is there a button somewhere inside or in in the glove box?

    • @tydrives4846
      @tydrives4846  6 лет назад

      I do not think there is. It’s not a powered hatch. You actually have to lift it up a little bit.

    Hey, nice channel man. One question about the Trax: how comfy are the seats in the rear? I've heard only the driver's seat is comfy, while copilot and back seats are kinda stiff.

    • @tydrives4846
      @tydrives4846  6 лет назад +1

      From what I remember they were alright. But just keep in mind, it’s an inexpensive suv that you usually won’t have rear passengers in every day. Thanks!

    • @danielmelendez3546
      @danielmelendez3546 6 лет назад

      @@tydrives4846 if you'd have to pick between inexpensive SUVs, would the Trax be your first choice?

    • @tydrives4846
      @tydrives4846  6 лет назад

      I can’t say since I haven’t experienced all of them thoroughly, but you really can’t go wrong in this segment, they’re all pretty nice cars for the money.

  • @taebby78

    I have a 2015 Trax and I do love it. It performs great and I've been lucky with Chevy's lasting a long time without any major problems. They always look nice and I'm a fan of all the little cubby spaces inside. I love the WiFi feature too, it's saved my butt when I needed a map on my phone in a place without cell service. BUT I must disagree with your one point - I'm not happy with the trunk space, I think it's way too small for an SUV even if this is technically a "mini SUV". The back seats do not fold down flat which is a big problem for an SUV. "Utility" is part of that label and the seats should fold nice and flat. I had a Chevy Cobalt before and even those folded flat haha And there are no winter tires made for the size tire on this vehicle. I know there's a big debate with winter vs. all season tires and I've heard many times that all season is the better way to go. But if you live a snowy climate like I do you never know what a bad winter season can bring. Cosmetics aren't important. It performs great, gets terrific gas mileage, and is safe with its many airbags. But I think they could have done better with the use of space because it is still supposed to be a utility vehicle. I'm interested in the new Blazer coming out next year, I'm definitely going to check it out at the dealer and take it for a test drive.

    Great review but this car is not worth more than 22k for the top trim...GM is getting crazy with their prices

    • @AroundIndiana
      @AroundIndiana 6 лет назад +6

      lmn222002 I agree. I was looking at them today at 2 dealerships and they have them at around $23000 for this package.

      @true life to be young and naive...GM is a shit company that no longer puts out a solid product...maybe if this was the mid 90s yes you're right...but turn of the century they are now cut corner city for their vehicles...I have owned several here is what I've owned since the turn of the century:
      new 2k pontiac grand am..2dr v6..total lemon cracked manifold, door catch broke...other issues i don't remember, just remember it was in the shop every other week...should have filed a lemon complaint
      used 98 GMC Sonoma ( 4 banger) great truck but just no horsepower
      used 2k chevy silverado 4.8 v8 where to start...transmission issues...rear tailgate door busted off used
      new 04 GMC Envoy 4.3 straight 6 ( loved that engine) electrical issues and radio breaking..also car would turn off on its own ...because the weight of the keys( remember that cost cutting issue with deaths for GM)....didn't have many keys to begin with
      new 07 Chevy malibu SS 3.9 V6 ( i think) total lemon...transmission replaced...O2 senors replaced..struts replaced..AC replace..power steering failed completely
      new 11 chevy equinox 3.0 (v6) I am glad i opted for the v6 as the 4 bangers were throwing rods and had engines replaced( search youtube for this)...this is my current car with 89k miles and had the transmission rebuilt, all for corners control arms replaced..Gas tank fuel sensor replaced
      None of the cars I had lasted 10 years or 100k without a major issue...I am gentle on my vehicles with dealer service only...GM stop making quality cars a long time ago and they cut too many corners...
      I will also have a special place in my heart for GM but not for what they are charging..they make good looking cars but the reliability is not there anymore...don't believe me search RUclips for the "Chevy Shake" I was looking to get another Silverado but not from GM...they are having issues and there is no fix for it
      As for the Trax I had one recently 2018 LS while they were rebuilding my transmission in the equinox and its not worth nearly what they list it for...there is nothing too it..and with that turbo it will fail and be expensive to fix...
      On top of that GM lowered their powertrain warranty from 100k to 60k...and they did that real quiet like.

    Why is there no temperature gauge to tell you if it's overheating or not

    • @bodombeastmode
      @bodombeastmode Год назад

      Many modern vehicles don't have them. The vehicle itself still monitors the temp obviously, but there is no actual gauge.

    I test drove a 2018 today. History: I currently drive a camaro. Now I understand two different types of cars. The take off in the trax is horrible. I love the upgraded features in premium version. However is not worth the selling price of 28k.

      Thanks! I did not drive this one, however I do drive a Chevy Cruze, and I have driven a Buick Encore. Both are pretty closely related to the Trax and they both aren’t bad cars for the money. If anything they could use a little bit more power.

    Down in Mexico theyre only half that price.. there are some things missing conparing trim to trim but for 15k I think its way over priced for USA. With that cas you can grab 2 of them.
