  • How To Use Float Magnetic Sensor
    How Magnetic Reed Liquid Level Sensors Work. The purpose of a float switch is to open or close a circuit as the level of a liquid rises or falls. The float encases a sealed magnet, which moves up and down the length of the stem as a fluid level rises and falls.

    A magnetic float sensor is an electromagnetic ON/OFF switch. It helps to sense the level of water present in the overhead tank or sump. Reed switch was invented in 1922 and later used adequately in 1936 by Walter B. Ellwood in the reed relay. A reed magnetic sensor is a sensor that uses a reed switch to detect a magnetic field. A reed switch is a switch that is activated by a magnetic field. The switch consists of a pair of ferromagnetic metal reeds that are hermetically sealed in a glass envelope. The reeds are arranged so that they are normally open (non-conducting). When a magnetic field is applied, the reeds align and the switch closes (conducting). Reed magnetic sensors are used in various applications, including security systems, door and window sensors, and automotive sensors.

    Can we use this for 3 phase motor in the continuity mode?

    • @The.Innovative.Indian
      @The.Innovative.Indian  5 месяцев назад +1

      No, its current tolerating capacity is not to handle three phase motor. You have to look for other options. Or one thing you can do, you can use a relay. You will drive the relay with the help of this float sensor, and then relay will drive the three phase motor.

    Sir, shall we connect magnetic float switch directly with 24 volt RO pump?

    • @The.Innovative.Indian
      @The.Innovative.Indian  7 месяцев назад

      No, directly connecting a magnetic float switch to a 24V RO pump is not safe due to potential overload, inrush current issues, and lack of protection. Use a relay or contactor for safe and efficient control.

    Need help with my float. Apparently got stuck under continuity causing a motor controller to think the tank is full and not turning the water pump when needed. Replaced with new and still causing issues. How can I make it reset the system?

      Your questions is not clear.
      As far as I can understand you are asking the continuity problem actually in these sensors you will get normally open and normally closed sensor. You can use according to your requirements

      Yes you can use this for 100 meter depth.... Just use 7805 based signal booster using resistors to get signals for long distances....

      sir could you please explain further the relay is used how? what relay should be used and how to connect this float when used with a car battery or 9v battery and a small motor to open or close a water inlet valve? I am thinking of building a cascading water feature. can you please explain how and what is needed. thank you.

    • @The.Innovative.Indian
      @The.Innovative.Indian  9 месяцев назад

      @@clamman7505 The Relay you can will use is 12V or 5V Electromechanical Relay. But you have to use driver in between the relay and the sensor because sensor current is too low. you can use bc547 transistor as a amplifier to amplify the signal from sensor to the relay. further in the relay there is three important pin common, normally open, normally close. learn how to use them by watching tutorials then you will be able to connect anything to this arrangement.

    What is the current capacity of this reed switch?

    • @The.Innovative.Indian
      @The.Innovative.Indian  7 месяцев назад +1

      The current capacity of a magnetic reed switch can vary depending on its specific design, size, and intended application. Reed switches are often rated for a certain maximum current and voltage.
      Miniature reed switches: 100mA to 250mA
      Subminiature reed switches: 50mA to 100mA
      Standard reed switches: 0.5A to 3A
      High-power reed switches: 5A to 10A

    As soon as the magnet comes in contact the motor switches on...water drops to few level, then the magnet looses contact..😂😂..motor stops there itself...we need something where when the tank is full, the motor starts then stops only when it has pumped out some considerable amount of water..like a float switch...why do you need a reed switch and a magnet to complete the circuit😀😀?! Just keep one end of a wire at top and attach other end to a simple floating material, so when the tank gets full both ends of the wire make a contact and the buzzer rings..😂😂
