G'day mate thank you for this video. Not many guys give up fishing spot I d like to thank you for putting the bigs smile on my son s face we went out to fishing we had hours of catching and realising nice big fish I have a little mad keen fisherman and he's only 6, Both of us are only like 2 years into fishing these spots all produced fish 👍🏻👍🏻thanks from my son to he says
Thanks mate, real useful info. Some areas (like the goldcoast) have all the fishing spots marked out on google maps. Most regions have very little online info about them & you just have to ask around for local knowledge
Ta Wayne , I’m enjoying exploring the land based experience at bribie, have caught a nice jack off the jetty a month ago , I was taught as a child by my Aunty to catch whiting in this area She was an Australian fisherwoman champion Joy Rogers and Uncle Arthur . Best tip was chasing the whiting patch along the beach . Fond memories Ernie
Best place lots of sandies around and Whiting ❤ our boats at bribie and we love going for trips over to Tangalooma. Bribie calm and surf side is amazing and the people are so friendly. Highly recommend x Jacinta
G day mate just want to thank you for all the great tips and info much appreciated enjoying your vids keep them coming. getting my kids into fishing and the tips help alot thanks.!!!
Great crabbing spot outside spinnaker marina along the beach where the flatties are. But watch the tides too shallow and youll be high and dry quick. during the off season we got a few legal bucks. Anyways great tips, we always like to share our spots too because why wouldn't you. Did you mention the snapper spot too 🥰🥰
It does. The exposed banks at low tide you will see hold a mountain of food that species like flatty, whiting and bream feed on. So the better time for Banksia is when this area is covered. The top half of the tide.
Hey Wayne im taking the missus fishing up at bribe in a few weeks. is there a decent section of beach to set up beach chairs ect on white patchif she gets bored haha. or would banksier be better
Land and Bay Fishing was thinking more calm water. i fished white patch the other day and got a solid hit and saw alot of bait fish. i will be throwing soft plastics. mainly targeting flatty and bream. the missus likes estuary type fishing but gets bored easily lol
Land and Bay Fishing thanks wayne love your videos btw very Informative will try and suss i nice streach of beach along white patch on google earth. no fwd unfortunately
G/Day Sufc, You live in an awesome part of the world. While there is many species available to catch from the banks of Bribie I would suggest you start by just targeting Whiting on locally caught Yabbies. Though the cooler months change your target to Flathead on Zman grubs with a 1/4 oz jig head or a Hard body lure called Diawa Double Clutch in the 75mm. Hope this helps.
Hi Wayne. Thanks for the great videos. New to Brisbane so they are a great help. Quick q: where does one access topographical maps of the bays and estuaries? The maps in your vidoes are helpful to get a macro lay of the land. Is there a public repository one can access? Thanks a mill.
Hi Wayne, great videos! This is the second time I’ve been to Banksia and got snagged multiple times with literally no bites! I looked for the deep zone you mentioned (literally parked so I was perfectly in line) with the map.. After wading out for about 30 metres over the sandbar and then casting probably another 30-40 metres nothing of depth it seemed! Literally walked all along the sand bar.. Am I missing something!?
Hi Wayne. Been itching to get to Bribie for a tailor session on the hard bodies. Watched your vid to see the location you recommended and thanks so much for that. Just wondering if it’s the same conditions needed as round Sandgate where’s I’ve always been. Westerlies, low tide and aim for the gutters ?
Hi Wayne. Wanted to thank you a million for all the videos and this one in particular. I was looking for a spot to take out some Year 12 graduates to teach them some fishing basics and found that Banksia Beach on Bribie would be worthwhile as you describe it. The target was whiting but I brought a long some heavier gear for that ledge and deeper water you spoke about. I done exactly as you advised and "hoicked" a live garfish over the ledge and into the deeper water. Within 20 minutes it was taken by a beautiful 73cm queenfish. A first for me (Ive lived in Sydney for most of my life) and the boys were really excited to have witnessed the catch. So thanks a million! I don’t give away locations. Everywhere I fish is a popular spot. An every spot that works has a variety of elements that need to come together for it to work. There is so much more to any spot.

Hi Wayne, Firstly, Great videos. They truly people like me learn so much more.
Does tide matter much at Banksia Beach?
It does. The exposed banks at low tide you will see hold a mountain of food that species like flatty, whiting and bream feed on. So the better time for Banksia is when this area is covered. The top half of the tide.
@@Wayne.Groomes.Fishing Thankyou. Have you ever had luck there with lures or only live bait?
Was hoping to try out some new surface lures I have.
@@brendanrouse2209 ĺures will work fine there
Very informative .. will be using these tips for sure!! Banksia beach will be a good spot to take the missus.
Ryan O Banksia is a great place for families
Thanks Wayne much appreciated ive just bought a house at Banksia beach will let you know if i find some in the passage.
Give the mouths of all the creeks a go. Ningi up to Coochin. They will be there, its just that I don't go that far for prawns.
Will do mate thanks
Out in front of the museum is a good spot aswell. Low tide i see lots of flathead marks
madmullet1990 thanks. Will check it out.
Awesome mate, Youré abit like old mate from Sand Flat Fishing Australia, you guys give away too much but it helps numptys like me lol, Cheers Wayne
Geoff Jones yep he has a great little channel.
That he does mate, between the 2 of you, I have been going pretty well on the hard bodies for lizards, not monsters but got a couple of feeds of late
Good to hear
Hey Wayne love your vids information is fantastic. Do you know anywhere to throw a cast net for prawns in the passage?
Daniel Dawes can’t help in the passage but Caboolture river is great.
Good catch....have you done any catch and cook lately....be good to get some new cooking ideas. Thanks mate
Thanks Di, the catch and cook is in the pipeline.
Legend I’m going down to bribie tomorrow
Glad you liked it

If you want semi surf I would suggest Woorim Beach around to Skirmish.

I live on bribie but I hardly catch anything, any tips on bait/tackle etc (land based)

Land and Bay Fishing thankyou mate, will try both of these
Thanks soo much what bait would you recommend for Solander ESP for bait at the 4-7 meter area ?
G/Day JCPR, Really fresh mullet or pilchard if you are fishing for Snapper.
Thank you

Tom Gardner an app call navionics is what I use.
@@Wayne.Groomes.Fishing Thanks a mill. Have sent you an email with a guiding query.
Tom Gardner hi Tom. I no longer have the insurance required to help with guiding. Sorry
Does land based guiding require insurance?
@@tomjgardner it sure does and its huge....

What are the best land based places to fish on an outgoing / low tide? Thanks.
Assuming your in the Redcliffe Peninsula area. Hays inlet, Scott’s Point, Queens beach. All good on an out going tide.
@@Wayne.Groomes.Fishing hi thanks for the reply. I'm thinking specifically anywhere on Bribie Island for a low tide land based. Thank you 😊
@@thedon9670 I really like Banksia Beach for whiting and Flatty. Also Skirmish point for whiting.

+Chris G Sandgate-- just north of the Shorncliffe jetty on the pathway is a good little tailor spot in the cooler months
Cool

threadfin in the passage? never seen it before

Hey mate, what quality are the yabbies at Banksia Beach? Thanks
