You do not have to use the chainstitch. You can sew three thread only or five thread.

fyi- the lower looper is the first one he threaded (3rd in the 4 tension disks) the upper looper is the last looper he threaded.

It can only do a 3 thread and 5 thread. The MO-6714DA is a 4 thread and the MO-6743DA is a 6 thread that can do 3, 4, 5 and 6 thread stitches. They are both available on our website. www.sewinggold.com

What is the size of the dread? Can I use nylon in this model?
