I didn’t know about you.
This brings back so many wonderful memories of our houseboat on the Natalbany River a couple miles from the lake. We lived on the river about 4 months out of the year because we both had full time jobs.
We spent some great times down there.
We had no power but my husband was very industrial and we had all the comforts.
He passed away 6 years ago and I wish we still had that houseboat.
I’d be back on the river.
We frogged, ran lines, trapped fur (it was very lucrative back then) when you could sell the furs.
And hunted deer and squirrels.
A great way of life.
So happy to see that it still exists for some. 😊
I will be watching y’all and living your life vicariously through you.

My Dad took me fishing for my first time on Lake Verret many years ago. I took him on his Last
time fishing on Lake Verret 15 years ago. I miss my Dad, and I miss Lake Verret.
I wish I could get your Old house-boat!
On July 3rd, 1973, I almost drowned in Lake Verret. My buddy and I had been camping, and we saw some
clouds coming up, and heard thunder. We quickly broke camp, and headed back home across the lake.
We didn't make it.
Almost half-way across, a Big wave hit us so hard, it bent the bow of our bateau up and swamped us. We swam
for 3 hours, in the storm, until this crabber saw us and picked us up. I'll never forget that day.
It's a beautiful place out around lake Verret. I've crossed the lake before when the weather got bad and that lake gets rough quick. I'm way more cautious these days around the lake. Can get scary in a hurry. Thanks for sharing! 🎣

As soon as I saw Gaudet’s landing all I could think about was that sweet woman’s mirliton casserole. Her son and I worked together and he’d bring a pan for potluck during thanksgiving. Good people.

Being a freshwater Louisiana native,Caddo Lake,Black Bayou,Toledo Bend are the waters i was rased
M on, i must say that young man caught a nice mess of fish. You have brought b ack memories of frog catching with my grandpa. If you broke the light beam or the paddle stirred the water wrong the frog was gone. Ive seen my uncle jump ten feet past an eight foot gator to catch a frog.

Really appreciate the videos guys, and a little work on the new camp and your set. They make some solar panels that are really good probably for the area that sorounds you. There called optivolt and there 100 watt panels and they have charging capabilities in low sunlight. Just thought I would throw that out there, not rep or trying to promote the product. Congratulations on your new house boat. That’s awesome Man. I love yaws videos. Our frogs have just disappeared in the last 30 years. Too many chemicals have hurt their habitat. I’m 67 now and I sure miss frog hunting. I live in Taylor Arkansas. Can’t wait till next Sunday.
Grew up in Springhill Louisiana and fished Lake Erling and Bayou Bodcau for years and watched ball games in Taylor...great area.
I live near Springfield Missouri. There are no frogs here either. It used to be we would float 5 miles on the river and see 50 frogs. But now you are lucky to see 3 or 4.
Really appreciate that! Our frog population seems to be doing very good. Frogging is one of my favorite things to do. 🐸🐸🐸
