This is the Top 10 we were waiting for.
Doesn't disappoint. And it's nice to see a list that Darth Malgus isn't number 1.
I get why people would put him there. I knew he would be high on my list. But if I’m being honest with myself, he was never number 1.
Was Malgus originally 35 ? Because i never rendered him being 80+ on amazon like he is now.
He was $33.99 at retail. $80+ is scalper pricing.

I always look forward to your list! I like that you had those sections of highlights at the beginning too. It was a fantastic year. I bought the most figures this year than I ever have in previous years. And most were in your list! Your #1 and #5 spots I have good memories towards since I found them at a convention I attended. It was a fun time.
I actually had more highlights, but I didn’t want the video to be too long, and I wasn’t sure how people would like it. Glad you enjoyed the year too!

Great video and great list, Mike! And happy new year. I haven’t mentioned it in a while at this point, but I found your videos very early on during the pandemic, right after I picked up some of the anniversary ESB figures. Hadn’t bought a figure in years at that point and after watching your videos during that time, I went in hard and picked up toy photography, which is something I had wanted to do for years. So, I always look forward to your videos, cheers buddy

I like the Endor Rebel Soldier, and while the price didn’t keep him out of the top for me, the fact that his races weren’t compatible with the Hoth rebel soldier and a few other reasons did. Still a great figure though.

Great Top 10 list. R2D2 is my top figure of the year as well.

100 releases is blowing my mind a little. Is that typical? SHF Dragon Ball had 21, and I thought that was a lot!
It has been the norm since about 2021. 2020 have around 60 or so figures. And it’s gone down before that. But 2021 just absolutely blew up.
Solid picks & pics sir! There were so many great figures this year. Some of the best sculpts by far. I was really impressed with the Andor figures. The nice surprises outnumber the let downs...like Starkiller.
The Andor figures are all sleeper hits, tbh. Great sculpts and likenesses all around.
Great top 10,i agree 2023 was the best year in the line so far, yep there has been some snakes & ladders or ups & downs but mainly ups, my wallet is screaming at me right now for how many figs I bought in 2023 lol must be hard to make a top 10 with so many figs(20+) that could be number 1.2 or 3 in previous years, a crazy good year 2023 was for the black series line, just got my first fig of 2024 yesterday the glavis ring world mando,& that is a crazy good fig to start my 2024,the line is getting better & better each year,great vid, keep up the good work we appreciate you

Good stuff Mike! Nice year-end summary. We certainly did have some great releases this past year from Hasbro. Here’s hoping to an equally successful 2024. My personal wish this year? A return to actual paint details on figures.
Great list, Mike, I agree with a lot of your choices. Glad to see some much deserved love shown for Luke, Vader, and Cad Bane. If the black series is supposed to be a “definitive” representation of a character, many of this year’s releases definitely felt like that.

Just started collecting. Wrecker mercenary was my first purchase.
I guess I'm in the minority, but I prefer the new leg articulation. Thigh cuts can break up the seamlines of the costumes and moving the rotation to the hips, knees and sometimes boots feels more natural and still results in all the articulation I need from the figures.
I don’t hate the new leg articulation. Like I said in the video, there’s never been a pose I wanted to do that I couldn’t hit because it was gone. But I still wanted to acknowledge the loss
Great list Mike! Many figures on here that I wanted but had to be picky with Black Series due to certain circumstances. Duels End Vader is definitely my BS figure of the year out of the ones I got
That’s absolutely fair. The Duel’s End Vader is absolutely one worth picking up!
I almost got Hera in the wild today but her face print was so wonky she had to stay on the peg. Thank the Force Goddess for plastic packaging. 😂

I only got one of the new figures for 2023, padawan Ahsoka, and I love her so much!! 🥰 There’s others I’m really looking forward to if they get a bit of a sale, as the prices I find here are a bit high :( I really want season 2 Omega, and R2-D2, as well as Chopper and Fives (idk if he’s a great figure… but the character). I hope I can find them this year! and I hope Hasbro keeps releasing and re-releasing great figures in 2024 that make people happy

I like the way you showed a bit more figures than 10. We did have a lot of great figures come out this past year and I appreciate your efforts to show more than just the top figures you picked out.
The new R2-D2 figure was a top 3 for myself but not #1. I'm still waiting for my ROTJ R2-D2 to come in. I've got an order that is about ready to ship from BBTS and I will probably just cancel ROTJ R2 and get the Mando version since he is in stock.

Had to put Mara Jade in my top 10. Still in awe that we got her in Black Series. Pre Vizsla is a huge surprise like you said, I had tons of fun with him.

I admit 2023 is a very good year for Black Series! A lot of good figures that come out.. my wallet hurting badly.. haha... Oh well i will get the new Mando and R5 hopefully soon. But I do admit I am burning out a bit with Black Series and now l focus into Joytoy Warhammer series...

Dammit Michael! I said to myself I was not going to buy the R2-D2 because I know me and if I buy the one R2-D2 in the correct size I will have to buy every remake of every Astromech in the correct size. But now, after this video, that’s what I’m gonna have to do. i’ll let you explain to my wife why.
I started in this year i have 18 so far. ORIGINAL TRILOGY THEMED but have Ashoka and Inquisitor they dont look out of place. The new Luke ROTJ i bought didnt have the chest place alternative option, is it possible that i got unlucky with packaging defect?
The alternate chest piece was packaged behind the figure itself. If it wasn’t in there it could have been a packing error. I have a friend who got a new Mandalorian with no darksaber in it.
@@MikeKaess the product picture on whatever you buy from mine being amason had the chest piece in the top left visable so when it came it was not there maybe ive forgot that he had even a removable chest piece untill watching reveiws after now i must of lost it i would rather belive then hasbro fkn up but i ain't that slow to loose pieces.
Yeah the final figure was changed from the render mock up they released when they announced it. They moved the chest piece behind the figure for the final release
Great video. Unless they release another Baylan with the size corrected and soft goods I'm passing on him.

I know the most important thing is a well-written, well-acted character but you’d think they’d mix it up a bit and not make an entire show focused on people in Grandma’s drapes or pants and a jacket (Andor). If they must, I really think Lucasfilm should be required to give Hasbro enough photo reference to draw from for characters’ accessories. 😢. I mean goot lort. Morgan would have been in my collection by now if she came with the plinth and ball map.
At least Ahsoka is visually such an amazingly EssDubbya series. Most of the other figures are so cool.

I think I may be basic, but I absolutely *love* the Darth Malgus figure. I may have some bias though because I happened to get some absolutely awesome pics with him in some great intimidating poses. I just really like the figure a lot. You mention still having R2 on your desk -- well Malgus has been on mine for a while because I just think he looks awesome (and his balance is terrific). I will give a shout out to Mara Jade though because I wanted that figure for ages and I absolutely love her. And also the Vader 40th anniversary. I'm a sucker for the scars and burn details on him even though mine does have a little too much paint app beneath his eyes so he looks super sleepy. I'm still ok with it because it's just a neat figure. Overall I think you had a great list, but if they do not bring us Momaw Nadon in 2024 then I'm going to rage. I've been patient, but it's time. Please please please.
Mamow got pipelined for 2024 by the Star Wars team last year, so he’s definitely coming!

me hate the thigh swivel with passion Black Series is using a new hip joint that does have the thigh swivel, I like it in tvc
limb swivel isn't articulation any way you look at it. and it gets in the way of ball-jointed hips articulation. and it look ugly.
The new updated R2 might just be one of the coolest fig,s ever across all lines marvel d.c. turtles w.w.e and a.e.w oh yah and g.i. joe the R2 though is one of the onley figures this year or now for a few years that u damnd near skipped from the isle to the check out counter it was like a little kid figure rush R2 provided that junkie fix we seldom mention but is at the root if at least me being 40 something and honestly more nice into toys than when I was the societal excepted age for this stuff wich is one blessing the hole collecting thing has given me is one more deep rooted reason not too give 2 fu$#@ about what the common herd or and grouping of humans other than the ones I consider to be my peers even than i gave mu self the gift of not giving a fuc@ for the inner opinions and thoughts of others espeshilly if there negative and negativity pointed at me or there precieved ideas of me any way dug the episode were about eye to eye on big chunks of it happy 2024 may it check all are collected boxes esoeshilly if these greedy corporations types keep price gouging us every time the wind blows ohh its a jedi and the put the light Saber in the pack with it no cloth goods robe no extra things like a non bladed Saber to hang on the belt so,s you can do the lite not lite thing any way it was also interesting to hear there was as you says 100 fig,s released thats a wow holly shit no way statement any how thank you fir the work and time you put in on all thus keep kicking ass like you do and catch ya up the road some wear PEACE BROTHER

I refuse to buy Malgus. I didn’t play the game. Sure it’s a big figure and it looks good and moves well… sorry Zach but Figuarts Dragon Ball figures look and move really good too and I like watching the shows… I’m not gonna buy those figures. There are tons of great figures from many lines but I’m not gonna buy those either. I’m not poo pooing other top ten lists. I love Wicket and that lil figured I’d buy ten times over. More Ewoks please Hasbro. Top Ten … Wicket is in mine. Mara is too. Dok Ondar is in there. Lukes are too. Now new Mando would probably be but he’s not in my grubby mitts. Same with the other BoBF figs. Appo moves like a dream! The blue bugs me. I actually don’t know if I have 2023 regular phase 2 clone… I’m sure I bought a few. Not coming to me. Love the Padawan Ahsoka figure. Awesome. Controversial take… the new R2 is very good but the fiddly attachments and lack of little wheels makes it just a great update I have already owned that’s to Bandai model kit. The pop up gimmick is oddly bizarre to me. I know I’m a weirdie. It’s a good figure and I’ll rebuy astromech droids too. I did. It’s delivering today according to Hasbro Pulse. I’m not sure how I didn’t get new Mando or the others I ordered from that wave yet…eventually I’m sure. I 100% agree this was a big year for Black Series made just a little smaller without my big beautiful beast…………
