I'm still waiting for A&E or the history channel to make a reality show featuring R.J. Corman... folks would definitely watch it... i would
“Working Hard to be Lucky”, the story of R J Corman is on the company’s RUclips channel. Maybe not a reality show in the current definition, but the true life story.

Please.
I would too!
There’s a good video on his story on their RUclips channel, actually. But yes I would too lol
The railroads would never allow it. Nor would us carman. Fuck those scabs taking our work away.
Thanks for the update Sir. As a 20 yr employee of Union Pacific its pretty cool when you see videos like yours where ppl actually care about this stuff.
Excellent!! Thank you for sharing with us!!!
Thank you for this quick video on this derailment at Inman Yard in Atlanta, Georgia! Hopefully, no one was hurt. I look forward to any updates that you can give us in the future/
I hope no one was hurt as well, Charlie. Keep us informed 👍
V12 Productions strikes again with a timely, well executed news report
RJ Corman keeps equipment near Inman as they are needed there regularly. lol.
Thanks keep us updated
I've derailed an empty hopper at 2 mph. Scared the crap out of me
Even at that speed shit can derail. Wow
Another great video!
I wonder if NS gets a “frequent user” discount from RJ Corman. 😂. They must at least have a dedicated phone line to them at this point. 🤷🏼♂️
It's not just NS bud.
There are hundreds of derailments every day in the US alone, just not major enough to prompt national coverage.
Thanks for sharing
Nice footage and long range shot!🛤🚂
BTW, it wasn’t just Corman on scene. Hulcher was also there and is stationed less than two blocks from the Inman yard.
Excellent job of reporting and a most difficult job zooming in! I've been to see the Hump in action!!
Thanks for the Video, Charlie. 👍🙏
When I worked at Inman in the Retarder tower as a signal maintainer I don’t remember near the derailments that have been shown recently. Must be the results of perpetual cut-backs throughout the years. BUT, you never know. NS and the FRA will figure it out I’m sure…😂
Nice report and video! Love your vids keep it up!
Thanks, will do!
Good work.
Excellent production
Side Booms are usually CAT D8s or D9s.
Cat 583 is a D8 & 591 is a D9.
Why are there so many derailments in this poor yard
Someone pushed the joystick too far! 😆
Cool.
Maybe the rails were damp or too damp. As like you said it was raining. Kinda wish I had some of the rain in Kansas
Nice close up of 242 in the beginning.
Hmm, wonder if that rack was loaded. Someone might get lucky at the auction this week
The sped up rerailing looked like a model railroad, with rolling to check and everything 😂
i live in atl George and it has been a bit rainy. but nice video!
as of right now it has slacked off, still wet
Everytime there is one of your video in my recomendation, some time later that day, you upload, its so strange
I'd really like to see a report of YARD DERAILMENTS for CY2023 for yards 200 acres and up. The comparison would be interesting and shed light on operations/maintenance for yards with higher derailment figures. Good vid!!
I derailed right next to Tilford’s hump tower one time just 5 minutes before I went on the law. “We’re on the ground. We’re on the law. Send a ride!” Lol
Best guess one of the cars jumped a switch based off the location, seems the most logical conclusion without more information.
I knew NS would fu- up one day and question why it’s so early in the year and of course it would be at Inman Yard we’ve seen more there in the past let alone than CSX!
Hopefully the slug set wasn't harmed
What is happening in this yard that keeps making stuff derail?
Great video V12, do you know if their is a update on that NS cab fire #7027?
This was hulcher and corman
How did this even happen
That looks like that was a lot of damage I hope it wasn't bad
I was under the impression it wasn't a good idea to run auto racks through a hump yard as they are long and can derail if forced forward, like center beams will do. Is my impression correct?
I know we dont hump Auto Racks in Birmingham 🤷♂️
That was my thought exactly.
In the Interface journal is this article "
Managing Slack in Trains with Cars Equipped with Hydraulic End-of-Car-Cushioning Devices (EOCC)
July 24, 2023 | Filed under: Wheel/Rail Interaction. by Jeff Tuzik ". Auto racks have EOCC installed on both ends and more slack between them. The article explains how slack run in can cause auto racks to jack knife.
Hey V12 Productions, What frequency do you use on your radio at inman yard?
I tune in the Atlanta Terminal Frequency. 160.740
@@v12productionsThanks
Did you see the Colorado crash between an Amtrak and a semi I just did.
When we heard "derailment" statistics, we think of trains going at high speed out on the main line. But these low-speed derailments are also apparently included, which gives us a different picture.
The problem is the conflation with "derailment" (any wheelset leaving the rails for any period of time and for any any severity of impact to the train's operation) with "leaving the trails" where at least one piece of rolling stock leaves the rails.
The first number is very high, some 3000/year. The second number is very low, at around 100-200/year. Only a small fraction of those occur at speed or have any impact to anyone outside the shipper/railroad, etc.
Only fra reportable derailments become public. This was definitely not an fra reportable derailment.
NS start year again on the wrong side of track derailment always happen in Inman yard so never new there.
I'm going to buy stock in RJ Corman. It can only appreciate.
Garant vs Norfolk Southern Railroad, Attempted Murder, Aggravated Manslaughter/Assault, and Fired Whistle Blower.
