Jake, I can't tell you how much I appreciate you doing these TBirds lessons. The Jimmie-era Thunderbirds were such a great band and, as far as I'm concerned, have never got the recognition deserved, especially those early records which IMO were their best. This is one way to keep that music going. (BTW, your strat is drop dead gorgeous.)
Thank you so much Steven! I love turning people on to the earl T'Birds and Jimmie's playing style from that era. Some of my favorite music and a huge influence on my playing. I appreciate the support!
Jimmie is aweome , off course like anyone else i first discovered Stevie but then i heard Jimmie , wow .. he quickly became my favorite.. great video .. more T birds 🤟
Im been a long time Jimmie Vaughan fan so dont know why its taken me so long to find your channel but so glad I did. Thanks for all the JV and other Texas blues stuff youve posted, its so helpful.
I really dig your videos. My all time favorite Jimmy piece is Dengue Woman. Love to see you tackle some of those Rifs. If you've already done it & I missed it, I apologize. -Billyclub 👍♣️
@@JakeAndrewsMusic I think it was in 2012 or 13 I got to see Jimmy Vaughn in concert in Santa Cruz at a small club with Luann Barton. After the show Jimmy did a meet and greet and signed autographs. I gave him a diecast Thunderbird. A 1957 I believe. He said to me, I'll cherish this, it was really nice to meet him and he signed one of my albums covers. I never got to meet Stevie but I wish I had. The Apple did not fall far from the tree. They seem to be really kind human beings. At this point in my life I play mostly just in the rhythm style of Jimmy Vaughn. If you ever get a chance maybe you can stream an artist that I was good friends with and he knew Jimmy Vaughn. His name was Ron Thompson. Well thanks for another great video and I've been looking for someone to actually show guitar players how to play so Jimmy Vaughan's rhythms and solos well thanks again and be safe. The fabulous Thunderbirds with the original lineup was the toughest band I had ever heard there was nothing like them. Along with Stevie Ray Vaughan they started a great blues revival at the time. Thanks for listening.
@@JakeAndrewsMusic Wish I was at Sam's on 12th right now.We would go there after Antones shows.Sit out on my tailgate with Stevie, Cotton and others until almost daylight. Those days are gone forever.
Thanks ! Your no Joke . Gonna work on this . Love Early Jimmy V .
Rock on James!

I am in awe of your tone. Great job with breakin down Jimmie's solo.
Thanks so much! Playing basically through what he used-a late 50's vintage Fender tweed amp with a 1960 Strat. Can't beat that tone!!!
Your channel is a gold mine. Loving it! Thanks for all of your posts. Blessings my friend.

Leaving a comment for the algorithm! Such a good channel
Very cool-thanks Charlie!!!
Super cool, Jake ! Once again! And you nailed Jimmie's tone too. Could you share some informations about it?
Man, classic Strat tone, back pickup with tone rolled off on amp a bit, picking the strings way back closer to the bridge!
Fran Christina on drums
Yep! Fran is great.
Checkout Jimmie and Lou Ann on Delbert's "Dont Do It"
AINT IT FUN BEING FROM TEXAS!
Only place to be from in my opinion!
