Good trick of the trade on plate is to spray anti spatter on help with piercing and cutting circles when you come back through your start no weird kerf lines. Mostly on thicker plate with a down draft table but it might work on a water table
The Powermax65 and Powermax85 have hard stops on the retaining cap, so no need to be concerned about over-tightening. The retaining cap does not need to be loosened when received from the factory. The tightness from the factory is just about right. As your mis-fire showed, loosening the retaining cap too much can lead to a consumables error code. No problem though, just check consumable installation and restart.
Sorry if this is a stupid question but what stops the plasma on these machines cutting the ridges that hold the work above the water? The base "fins" as it were.
I was wondering if you have had any issues with interference with the Torchmate being close to the Tormach. I teach at a small school and I just ordered a Torchmate 2x2 but the only logical and convenient place is right next to the Tormach... I just wondered if I would have issues having both so close together.
How difficult is it to remove the swarf on the back of the cuts? How do you remove it? Have you reached a point where you are producing almost no swarf? Thanks, I'm considering getting a Torchmate right now.
With an air plasma system, the reality is that you could tweak your settings until you're blue in the face and you're realistically still going to end up with some dross. Only when you get up into the higher end systems that use oxygen/oxygen blends will you see what you could call dross free cuts on mild steel.
I think that's what makes your videos so valuable - no assumptions are made about the viewer's skill level. I viewed your videos several times when setting up my Tormach and making the first few runs until I got an idea of what I was doing. While I'm typing... will the nyccyc.com site be viewable again? It redirects to your channel here, as I'm sure you're aware.
Nice job! I'm still learning with our system getting the auto torch height to work smoothly. I've found that the numbers in the book for cutting speed are too fast by 10-20%. We have a different system though. I've found that if you can it is helpful to make long test cuts rather than short ones, there are so many things happening its hard to catch everything when its occurring so quickly. I'm going to try to put more videos up of our system. Check out KEF791, Keith has a first rate setup.
Nice video. You cover enough beginner-type stuff in this video that I learned a lot about CNC plasma cutting in general. Thanks for sharing!

i dig your setup. you're videos are top rate as well. keep it up!!!
That is pretty exciting. I can't wait until I get a cnc table for my everlast welder. Just saving up at the moment.

How do you like the air dryer
Does it have to perform the height check/adjustment every time? I would hope you could just perform that once or whenever desired instead.

Good question it does cut them you have to replace them every so often.

may you please do a video cutting holes from high diameter descending to small D
Hi, I was wondering.. what are the line cuts for?? is it just for testing?? Thanks!!
I can think of worse problems to have. Hopefully Strikemark keeps your machines busy for a long time.
How much did all this cost? Great video btw.
Are you using straight water? If so you should use a rust inihibitor, otherwise you'l have a big rusty mess.... Nice set up :)

Awesome! Keep up the good work. :-)

there is never enough space
Use baking soda, a couple of cups.
