Good to see you back Tristen. The circle portions in the windshield are to keep the rain off. The flag hoisted during fueling is solid red. Hope that I got those right. 🤗 🍷
Im curious about the engines. In my mind, 475hp per an engine seems low for a yacht of this size. Though i would assume plenty of torque to push her while maintaining fuel efficiency.
@pken9814 It's a displacement vessel and does not go on plane. So, it's meant to apply torque for range. Rough guesses with 2 engines at 475 at 31 meters, at 8 to 10 knots cruise range would be 4000 NM. Possibly more depending on the tanks. Nordharven usually performs about the same on their 95 series also with 475. If you want world exploration, displacement is the way to.
Welcome back when was the last refit and what was done to engines as you said its done a few moles so thay will be or are knackered out by now
Its a elctric window when its raining you can start it and you have clean site, its going around fast
The things up on the windows, are basically electrically powered viewing portals with a pane of glass that spins at high speed, so that any rain that lands on them gets flung off, thus allowing you to see out in bad weather, without wipers.
@@KSSilenceAU 💯 🙌
Especially in severe weather or heavy rain, those spin windows work better than wipers.
In the UK, they're often referred to as "Kent" screens after the name of the manufacturer.
Those spinning windows are also used on CNC machining equipment. Many CNC's utilize a milky-looking coolant fluid sprayed onto the cutting parts and the rapid spinning machinery throws the coolant all over the windows of the CNC machine, making it difficult for the operator to see the work --- the spinning window port offers a clear view inside.
Yup, I was going to comment the same, but you beat me to it. 🙂
I'm very happy for you, Captain Mortlock. Bravo. That's the flag you'll want. Those things on the windows are neutonium pulse generators which are used to open jump gates once the vessel reaches relativistic speeds.
Your smile speaks volumes about your new command…congratulations
Yep, I can most definitely go along with that. Totally cool and wicked.😁
Good to see you back at the helm Captain. Looks like you will be having plenty of fun on this vessel. Hopefully we will see Giv and your boy during this new adventure
Fantastic to see you back where you belong. Welcome back Captain Mortlock.
@@grahambrown8123 thank you 🤩
Dear Captain Tristan
Consider being involved with Motor Yacth LOON?
Nice to see you back in command
@@nickmckay4369 many thanks 🙏
Hallo Tristan, congratulation to your new Office. I'm glad to see you again on the bridge of an great vessel. I wish you all the best for your new Command. Greetings from Germany. Jörg
Really nice that the owner(s) allow you to film. Not everyone would have been up for that, and it's good to see Captain Mortlock back in the wheelhouse!
Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyy!!!! Welcome back Tristan. So wonderful to have you back again. I'm thrilled! Look forward to seeing your future vlogs.. 🥳🥳
@@graycee8326 thank you, I’m thrilled to have embarked on this new adventure 🙌🙌
Proper sea boat, Tristan. It's been awhile since I've seen these spinning windows, but it says a lot for the seagoing nature of this vessel. Look forward to watching your adventures, and by the looks of it you too.
@@d.j.vanderschoot3717 💯 this is a proven ocean going vessel, with global capabilities. 😎
Glad you are back in command. Enjoy.
Shes a beaut Clark!
Congratulations!
It's great to have you back where you belong.
@@dangoldman6636 it’s great to be back 😎👍
Looks like most of your viewers have identified the spinners on the windshield. The boat has a very classical finish, I'm looking forward to seeing the rest of the layout & decor.
So glad to see you back at the helm, can’t wait to see what adventures you’ve got planned.
Amazing news Tristan. Congratulations 🎉- oh and they are always clear spaces on the screen. They spin incredibly fast to keep the water off!!
@@edsageseamaster3440 thank you so much 😎🙏
I'm pausing to add a comment after just starting the video; Tristan, when I saw this video pop up I was so excited! Your presence in the YT yachting world has been missed... I followed all your AWOL videos. What a cool craft you have now, with a world-travelling pedigree. Looking forward to this new journey on that beautiful boat!
Thank you so much for your kind message. I really hope you enjoy our new adventure. I know I will enjoy sharing it with you all.
Welcome back Captain. Happy to see you back in the seat.
Look at that smile, heck it made me smile. Congratulations on a new journey. Safe, Fun sails and continue to have the time of your life.
Those round discs spin at great speed thus spinning off spray and rainwater - absolutely essential for a yacht of this size when bad weather hits at sea.
@@cjwl1 💯
@@SuperYachtCaptain As a matter of interest I am an 81 year old ex Royal Marine whose expertise was as an Amphibious Operations Officer and I also commanded the LC Training Centre at Poole in Dorset in the late '60's and hold a bridge watch keeping Cert for a major RN vessel (the old HMS Bulwark) I have been a keen sailor all my life and followed your earlier series with great interest - so glad you are back!
They are called Kent Views. Used fir throwing water off the screen to allow a clear view when raining or inn heavy spray.
Just as a by the way a family friend who is a Master Mariner was a yacht Captain for amongst other owners John Latsis and Paul Getty 2
I see people saying the windows are spinner windows, this is obviously wrong. They are clearly modified searchlights to cast the Bat-signal to summon Batman when in distress.
Great to see you so happy and excited. All the best in your new chapter and hope your employers have a great experience from you, the crew and the ship
Great to have you back, sail safe and looking forwards to your traves, hope your family are all well
Congratulations on your new command Tristan! Great to have you back! Looking forward to lots of new adventures with you!
@@neilhorstcraft1837 me too, looking forward to it aswell 🙂
Congratulations to your new command ! Your smile on the video says everything !
When you left „ Port de Cannes“ for your last trip with „AWOL“ for the transfer to Amerika we missed the departure only 15 minutes , I was very sad because I didn't know at that point that it would be the last trip with AWOL… Great to have you back !!!
It’s so awesome to see you back Captaining a yacht! I missed your videos from when you were on AWOL. I’m excited to explore the seas and your new boat! Cheers!
Hope you enjoy it! 😎🙌👍
Great to have you back and again at the helm. Ready to start watching all the new adventures.
Your smile says everything! happy for you mate :)
@@CordlezToaster 😀 🙌🙏
O man thats the first thing I noticed when I saw this video !!!. That happy face is again on the video :)
Welcome back. I hope you finally get out of the Med and take us along on different adventures. Hope you and your family are well.
From a long time fan.
Could your smile be any bigger, you are in your happy place.
Congratulations, glad to see you back
In command🥂
Nice one, Tristan is great to see you back in command of such a cool yacht. A raft-up is needed before the end of the summer 🛥🛥🥂
Thanks Captain Paul and Loon team. Certainly looking forward to crossing paths again and a few more video collaborations
I'm watching this video right after watching @motoryachtloons part 3 of Atlantic Crossing. Dylan did great.
OMG the Real Captain is Back I'm so Pleased for You Man and she looks a Nice Ship should be fun we can see you also very Happy to be doing this again by your Massive Grin lol thanks and Congrats
@@anthoneyking6572 thank you, I can’t wait to share all our adventures with all of you.
Awesome, welcome back Captain Tristan. Great to see you back on board.
Great to have you back Skipper, looking forward to the new adventures.
Congrats on your new command! Nice to see you back. The yacht is a beauty. Red flag for bunkering and the window spinner for rain. Like a windshield wiper that spins instead of wipes.
Quite clear you're back doing what you love, you look like a kid with a new toy (a very expensive one), happy for you and happy for me since I will get to see more of your videos which I love as well. Congratulations.
Good to see the big smile. Good luck.
Welcome back! You look so much happier being back in command!
Welcome back! Cool that the owner allows you to film, thanks for that.
It's a clear view screen, bij spinning the circle at hi speed all the water will fly of. Red flag during fuel bunkering i would say.
@@brutus7319 thank you 🙏 and you are right on both questions 💯👍
Interesting to see she is an Australian flag vessel 👍 great to see you back at the helm, cheers from down-under.
@@andrewr886 Yes, sh s Ausie flag, I’m interested to learn more on the Australian flag state. 😎
They Fosters a good standard to ensure their vessels aren’t tinny…
Very happy to see you back in business and looking forward to some new adventures. Congratulations!
Ahoy there Captain Tristan! Great to see you back once again, we have really missed your interesting Vlogs, and have been following the Loon Vlogs, which are really good too! The 2 round units on your windscreen are round wipers, but a little tiny, normal wipers are best. Looking forward to your feedback, the new craft looks wonderful. Adios from sunny Spain.
Congrats on the new command! Now go put that pawn back in the right spot ;)
@@nute923 hahaha, I didn’t think anyone would notice 😜
BEST part of the video: ". . .I think a very interesting itinerary ahead ."
happy to see you in command, I see a brighter light in your eyes
Congratulations on this new command, she is an absolute beauty, stunning lines ! And she already has an awesome travel history ! Many more travels to come.
For a 2002 boat she is in superb condition and after you put your wish list in there she will be even better.
As for the stabilizers, you may want to talk to CMC with their electric fins. When you were onboard our boat we did not have stabilizers, put them on last year and they are awesome. Work basically 24 hours per day, always ready to intervene and use basically no electricity at all (since they adjust themselves to what is needed). We use them underway, on anchor and even in port. The minimal electricity draw makes it possible to run them off our solar panels (which we did not have when you were onboard) and our battery bank. Minimal maintenance, don't take up a lot of space and after 1 year of 24/7 usage we have had no failures whatsoever. Having them as a add on to your existing Naiads would make your journeys so much more pleasant. We did Corfu to Turkey and now Turkey back to Croatia, would not want to be without them anymore.
Safe travels and we will follow you on your journey. 👍
Clear screens, they spin really fast and throw water off, work much better than wipers in really heavy seas?
So glad to have you back! ❤
Brilliant to see you back and looking forward to seeing more.
Congratulations on your new command. Lovely vessel!
The spinners clear themselves in severe weather and conditions.
Glad to see you back, thanks 🎉🎉🎉
Good to see you back at the helm again. Looking forward to watching your adventures in new parts of the world.

Awesome!! Glad to see you back to the helm
Happy to see you again as captain. From the Netherlands we say ‘Ahoy and goede vaart!’ Stay safe.
welcome Back Captain T! Those are centrifugal water shedders to give you visibility in storms so heavy that other methods would work ( ie wipers). Enjoy your new gig! Kind regards, Bob S.
Thank You Bob, all the best.
Congratulations Tristan. Great to see you back at the helm.🎉

I never knew I missed that intro until just then. Welcome back to being a super yacht captain once more and all the best in this new change in your life. I look forward to all the interesting things you will be sharing with us.
Congratulations CAPTAIN(!) Mortlock on finally getting back behind the helm and doing what you like best. May you have many pleasant and safe voyages.
Glad you are back as captain !
Lovely to see you back in the captain chair.
Those two round parts on the windshield is for viewing out during heavy weather when the wipers can’t keep up.
They rotate at high speed creating a centrifugal effect whipping the water off quickly
So great to see you back where you belong.
Great to see you back. Looking forward to more videos ❤❤
