I have the E340 Floodlight. My only complaint is. When it detect a group of person(s). It only follows one person out the group. The camera forgets everybody else. I think if it's a group of person(s). It should just go into a wide screen view...
Where I live in a rogue area of Sydney if you say over the cameras speaker 'i'm going to call the cops' i'm pretty sure the thieves will just laugh and keep doing whatever they are up to. It's the same with floodlights, they come on and all it does is let the thieves see exactly what to steal. I learned that the hard way. Darkness is sometimes your best friend against thieves
@@LifeHackster First the sound of you racking a shotgun. Then you saying guess what you're going to hear next if you don't get the F off my property. I think that might get their attention :) Even in rogue Sydney.....
I have 3 E340s and just picked up an E30 that I still need to install this weekend. There's two things I don't like about eufy so far: First the audio quality sucks it sounds like talking through a coke can. Second the framerate at 15fps makes movement look like trash compared to my Arlo cameras which are not much better at 24fps. I just wish these wifi camera companies would release more cameras at 30+ fps so the movement is clear. I have a 4k Solar camera in a tree right next to the road and you'll be lucky if you can read a license plate on a passing car going 30mph 1 out of 10 times. The frame rates are simply too low to pick up clear fast movement.
@@mr.c6674 Good question. Ill tell you this. I have a cheap $16.00 light bulb camera from amazon, the brand is la view, and it detects more motion and sends more still image screenshots to my phone homescreen than the $200 Eufy e340. I mean, the app for it is messy and the image quality looks like 720p although its advertised as 2k, but it still detects movement and takes snapshots better than Eufy. With that said, Eufy still has premium live viewing, tracking (when it detects), and image quality. It just doesn't pick up everything it should and the sound quality is poor.
@@mr.c6674 I'll also tell you, if I was on vacation or knew I was going to be away for a week, I would charge up my arlos and put them out as a front line defense just because I don't trust Eufy to pick up everything all the time. With that said, I keep my Eufy's running 24/7 and don't ever worry with taking them down to recharge. Eufy is my favorite but if I'm serious about keeping a watch on something I put out the Arlos because they detect everything and go to the cloud so I'm not worried about the homebase getting stolen or losing the footage.
@@mr.c6674 i forgot to add, that cheap lightbulb camera for under $20 also detects sound and sends notifications when sound is detected. Very useful and overlooked feature with the bigger brands.
Eufy is notorious for 15 FPS. All their cameras are 15 FPS including their wired professional one. I wish they would bump it up and have lesser compression.
Thanks for the great comparison. I bought the E30 after seeing the difference. Did you notice a fair amount of play in the ball turret when stationary? I have other Eufy cameras that have pan and tilt control with a similar ball, and they have little or no movement. The E30 can be wiggled quite a bit.
I have the E340 fludlight cam & 2 of the indoor Cam 2K Pan & Tilt cams & they all make a sound on the recordings when the lights or infer reds come I see in this video it happens here to do you know why? & do other cam with in eufy line up do this? & what other companies cams.
Eufy is notorious for terrible sound quality. I love the tracking features, solar forever power, aesthetic design, floodlights, and image quality of non moving objects but realistically I prefer my arlo when it comes to motion detection (never misses anything) and sound quality (picks up conversations 100 yards away at neighbors'). I just hate that Arlo is subscription, low battery life, and no cool features like ptz or thumbnail previews for non subscription. With that said, I guess that's why lifehackster reviews so many brands because they each have their pros and cons. Besides Eufy and Arlo, the next brand I want to try is Reolink, they seem to have latest tech in their cameras.
If Eufy upgraded the bitrate of their sound quality and frames per second of their video they would be the clear number 1 in my opinion. Also, Eufy is inconsistent with motion detection but I think they're fixing that with their sonar detection system like in the s340 pro cameras. Sometimes you'll walk right in front of a Eufy camera and it wont even pick up the motion. I've never had that issue with Arlo.
@@LifeHackster Thank you very much for the info now I don't think it's my camera that has a problem. Although I don't think it'd be such a bad thing if camera manufactures mention this small fact.
It depends on the people. If one person is a preacher and the other person is a criminal it will track the preacher. If a burglar is breaking in and your dog is barking at him it will focus on the dog. It never focuses on whats important.
I sent this suggestion to eufy and they said they will consider this for future product improvement. You can do that as well, so more people ask for it, the likely they might do it. The feedback can accessed via " Share Your Thought" in the Camera setting.
How low do the camera sit from the mounting spot if hanging vertical? I have a downspout conmection from the gutter about 1 foot away from where I am considering mounting one of these and am curious if it will sit low enough to not be inpacted. Is there any junction spot extensions your aware of that could lower the camera a few more inches to resolve this? Eufys website and AI chatbot arent helpful to answer this question.
Hi Lifehackster. What Reolink cam do you recommend in a small storage with about 4*4 meters space? To be able to see as mutch as possible of the area in there. TP connected, no WiFi cam.
Hey buddy - love you videos! Since you have tested most of the cameras. Im looking in to buying some cameras i want "iphone video quality" like. I know i might not find that good quality but what would you recommend if video quality is the most important feature?
Hi there LH,not sure if you tested the vertical tilt on the E30 vs the E340, I bought the E340 cause the vertical tilt on the E340 goes all the way down, that you can see right under the camera, and I found that the vertical tilt on the E30 is just 70 degrees, can you confirm if this is correct, I own many Eufy cameras like the indoor cam S350 that only tilt vertical to 70 degrees, and doesn’t compare to the Eufy cam E220 that vertical tilt to 96 degrees, please let me know if the vertical tilt on both of these floodlight cameras is the same or they’re different? Thanks!
Yes, they are the same.. 70 degrees as per comparison in eufy's listing. The lens will be able to see underneath the camera because of its FOV but the camera doesn't move physically pointing straight down.
Great stuff as always. Would love to see a review of eufy Security 4G LTE Cam S330, 4K Cellular Solar Security Camera including how the cellular plan works and how much it costs. Thanks.
Another quality review. I've been waiting specifically for this review. Now I look forward to the cameras coming back on sale.
Yup. It is back on regular pricing. Try to watch the pricing on weekends leading to Christmas. I'm pretty sure it will be back on sale.
They’re on sale today. I came here to get a comparison so I’m definitely buying one
@@FabiCC7 Where are they on sale and for what price?
@ In the Eufy app which I would hope reflects on the website. The E30 is $150 and the E340 is $220

Costco store has Eufy solo s3. What’s different to solo s340?. Thanks
Hey hackster, will eufy be selling the junction box by itself?
You mean the mounting bracket? Mostly likely not. It comes with the floodlight cams.
is the E30 camera compatible with HomeBase 2?
Soo what if one of those lights go bad can you replace that light only or the whole thing?
Yes, they are not replaceable. They should last longer than the camera themselves though.
It’s a LED that comes on momentarily. It will last forever.
Is there option tu turn off tracking on E30?
Yes, on both cameras.
Yep
