Gavin Stone. I was actually keeping tabs on this kid when he was working his way through the Dodger farm system a few years back. The one thing that stood out for me the most about him (especially during his time at AA Tulsa) was how surprisingly mature he was for his age. His stuff was clearly there, but his mound presence was that of a big-league vet whose main focus was pitching as quickly and efficiently as possible rather than wasting needless energy trying to strike out every hitter at the plate. Glad he was one of the homegrown studs that management held on to because he's definitely the real deal! If only Buehler had finally figured it out before recklessly blowing his arm out two seasons ago:::sigh:::now he might find himself in the next major trade as a result of what his apparent "successor" Stone has done so far...
Ohtani’s talent is other worldly. Congrats to Gavin Stone on a pitching masterpiece. If he keeps this up he should be a serious contender for the NL Cy Young.
Most of Lux's AB's are empty, dude looks like he's up there without any plan. Better wake up at the plate, carrying that weak bat into the post season is just too much of a drag.
I wouldn't have blamed him for bringing another pitcher in the ninth but I'm glad he let the bullpen rest and Stone got a complete game. Day off today so the starters will get an extra day off.

On the IL with a minor shoulder injury (rotator cuff strain, not sure how he managed to cause that one). Dodgers should keep him there until September at the earliest. They mainly got him for another potential run at a WS title, anyway. Best to keep the bigger picture in mind...
