I am a resident of Davao City, welcome to our place! It is one of the cleanest cities in the Philippines and smoking is not allowed in public places. If you want to visit beaches, you can go to Samal Island or Mati, Davao Oriental. There are a lot of white-sand beaches there. Enjoy your stay ❤❤❤

I used to live in Davao city currently in Chicago. It’s one of the laid back cities in the Philippines cuz there’s not much to do there except going to the nearby places like Samal island, Bukidnon, Davao oriental or Davao del Sur.
A huge and modern city yet laid back. I have been to Chicago, and frankly there is nothing much to do. Scenery was quite bare. There were just mere buildings. Not fancy though as compared to Top cities in Asia Pacific.

I love the enthusiasm in trying to walk everywhere but as a local, I wouldn't suggest it unless you have triathlete stamina 🤣. The city is one of the biggest city in the world in terms of land area. Approximately, it is 7.8 times the size of Cebu and three times that of the entire Metro Manila. Also 5x bigger than Cagayan de oro city. The reason you see durian EVERYWHERE in the city currebtly is because of the timing of your visit. It is currently durian , mangosteen, and lanzones season. Other months, youd rarely see cheap priced durian around. Next month til Christmas would be mango season..

Reminds me a lot of when I went to Davao 6 years ago. I only stayed there for 1 week. Most of those days, I went to SM Lanang. I stayed in Red Planet and rode a taxi to get to SM, but after a day, I decided to take a hike. Davao is very safe and clean. I also went to Samal Island, Davao City Hall, and the Night Market.

I was in my Davao last month. My first in Mindanao. The Philippine eagle is so majestic. We saw Viggo the eagle in 1000 peso banknote! The city is pretty clean and organized and the people have a sweet sounding accent of bisaya 😊
Welcome to Davao. I understand you haven't seen the whole city yet but the more walkable places are in the city center where it is more dense and the streets are more narrow. Only a jeepney away from your hotel, go to San pedro st. or claveria st. Thought you might want to see more crowded parts of the town. Enjoy!

For someone who experienced travellung from Magallanes to Cubao for 3 hours, then experiencing Davao was a bliss. I also roamed around downtown on foot, and it was far from the filthy streets of Metro Manila. I also appreciated the fact that Davao has a lot of cultural pasalubong centers.
