  • I tested the new Alpackaraft Valkyrie V3 on a fast lap through the Lammeröfen. The water level was 17m3/sec or 63cm, which is about mid-water and makes the section a class 4 whitewater.
If you would like more information about the new Valkyrie, take a look at our shop. packrafteurope...
If you want to try it out, come along to the European Packrafting Meetup from June 10th to 16th on the Soca in Slovenia. packrafteurope...

Is the knee position lower on this model? Is the skirt rigid enough to roll?

Hello Joe, lower to what? It depends on your seat length and whether you take the Valkyrie in size M or L. If you also order the HD spray skirt, then a roll is easy possible and it will stay in place. The HD skirt has never popped up so far.

Im 193.5 cm and 82kg, do you think the large valkyrie will be big enough for me?

Hey, you're just above Alpackaraft's recommendation, but I think the Valykrie in L should still be suitable for you. Just try it out somewhere and test ride it.

@@packrafteurope-officialalp8538 Thanks, is there anywhere in Europe that I can test ride it? Would love to do that

@edcunningham5562 Hey, yes as mentioned in the outro the best place to test the Valkyrie is the Iselriverstore.com right on the Isel near Ainet in Austria. iselriverstore.com/ or you visit our webpage and go to "partners/rentals" in the footer. Best regards.

Curious if you’ve played around with weight in the boat for whitewater, specifically when you don’t have overnight/backpacking gear. I found it runs best with ~7kg total spread out in the tubes/lap bag. I was wondering (if you do add weight) what you use? I’ve been using wet towels in my dry bags haha.

Hey Andrew, no I've paddled it completely empty. No extra weight. But yes, if you add some kilos it's more stable. Cheers Seon
