The sign of a good teacher is being able to still learn. Well done Steve 👍
Kids will humble you in a heartbeat. And you can learn alot from them aswell. Their why's will make you think sometimes
I had this same experience when I played video games in front of my nephew. I never felt cooler 😎
This is gold!! If you teach drums or any instrument I believe your students definitely want you to see you shred once in a while!! Love it Steve!
If the journey is not enjoyable, the destination is often (not always) going to be less than satisfying when you get there.
I came across your channel last week and immediately subscribed. Glad I did - this video hits it out of the park. So much of what one sees and hears is about how to play a paradiddle or 16ths on double kicks at 240 bpm for 3 minutes. Blah, blah, blah. Afterwards, who cares? BUT: your approach to this video is refreshing as you question what Music & drumming is all about: 'Communication'. The message you communicated to me today speaks volumes. I'm literally going back to being an instructor myself and this video provides a lot of very valuable insight. Many thanks.
Excellent!
I'm glad you're digging it
Thank you Steve
But it is a good insight- sometimes you need to demonstrate credibility not just talk from authority! I am a proponent of kids being allowed to question things.
