- I sat down with the owner and staff of an independent bookstore to ask them what it's like to run a bookstore in a small town.

“People are always being ambitious about reading classics” lmao never felt so attacked
So weird seeing the behind the scenes of a bookstore I've been visiting for years. Thanks for this gem Ariel. 🥰
I feel like books aren’t a luxury, but they are a privilege.
She's correct. Books are not a luxury, they're a necessity.
I WANT A BOOKSTORE
this was beautifully edited and a joy to watch! support local independent book stores 💕
theres no bookstores where i live, only libraries. if i want to go to a bookstore, the closest is Barnes and Noble and its almost an hour away. ive only been there once. Not worth the trip for me, i just buy my books online or go to the library. i would love to go to an indie bookstore though.
I’m on the precipice of buying a bookstore in my small northern Washington town. There are days when I question what the hell I’m making this major, life changing decision for. I have a good paying job and a lot of flexibility, but there’s something that just keeps calling me to this place. This affirmed (for today) that I’m making the right decision moving forward. Maybe someday you can come shoot one of these for me. Thank you for this 🙏🏻
"This is my store, my vision" love that, love the calm vibes of this documentary, Ariel. Thanks for introducing us to this wonderful place!
Oh my god that looks like my dream place! Books, crystals, lovely staff 😍 I would love to visit someday!
this is my favourite bookstore in vernon and the staff are so friendly ❤
Wow this documentary was a surprise! I buy a lot of my books at Expressions of Time, it's actually the used bookstore I probably utilize the most since it's nearby and the staff are wonderful! Thanks for this Ariel!
books, rings and vintage stuff..this is a dream store for me but I live in another continent! 😂 really enjoyed this video 💕
This is amazing! ❤️ I love independent bookstores! To be honest, I don't shop in them enough since I work in a chain bookshop (even thou our shops are pretty small compared to others and some of them feel kind of homey and all that connects them is the name) and this is a great reminder for me to try harder and support them (and not to just pay money to my employer 😂)
"I read lot's and lot's of stuff. And I always will" beautiful words.
First 😂 About your documentary: it’s extremely relaxing to watch
As someone who wishes to own a bookstore one day, this was extremely interesting and insightful! And, as always, I'm just so happy that you are doing these kinds of videos (and doing them well) so THANK YOU ARIEL <3
This was so nice and well made I didn’t want it to end... also now I want to work in a bookstore even more
It's very inspiring to see that you are achieving your goal of making 2019 "freaking amazing" after the sucky year with the master! it's very scary to dive into something different, and you're not only doing that but also rocking at it.
This is a brilliant documentary, seeing inside an indie bookstore like this is such a unique and wonderful thing. Congrats on making a great doc!
