Crichton really seemed to like describing guts falling out in this book, a lot of people got their intestines pulled out and played with in JP the novel
The dinosaurs aren't big enough to munch everything in one go and even the rex could theoretically gag and die with a poorly swallowed human sized food so almost every dino does the instinctual bit of making their prey easier to digest by eating it bit by bit.
It was a big moment(for me at least) to find out the raptors were so smart that they distracted the people doing a distraction for them..that's just such a turn table moment.
“3 raptors here, two on the roof. That meant one was still missing, somewhere.” Meanwhile, Grant is in the shed wondering how a six foot killer turkey got beaten to death.
Watching this animation made me realize how unprepared they all were. Muldoon was drunk, Eliie was too confident & stubborn, and though brilliant, Henry Wu panicked and made a mistake.

In the movies, they’re modified animals that are effectively as close to dinosaurs as the scientists could manage at the time, frog DNA implanted where necessary. In the books, they’re effectively science experiments that just HAPPEN to resemble dinosaurs, they act far too intelligent for what they should be, and often have some kind of horrific hidden ability that the animal never would have.
I LOVE the fact several Jurassic RUclipsrs are involved in this! This is truly a work of art! While a full-length series of this might be too much to ask for, it'd certainly be a sight to behold!

In the movie he was just outsmarted and underestimated them. Plus he wasn’t one of the main characters so he was majorly screwed. I feel like the book was probably aiming more realistic on those who were careful were more likely to live and those naive,and careless around the creatures would meet an end.
Wu having a Victor Frankenstein epiphany when everything is going to hell... sounds about right ! XD Though to give him credit, Henry did try to warn Ellie on his own here.
I literally just read this scene in the novel and I visualized it VERY differently, sometimes I struggle to understand how the scenes work and, consequently, it messes with the whole visualization. Thank you for making these animations, since they help me get a better idea of how the scenes work.
In the Jurassic World films he gets away with a lot of *bleep*. Then again, the original JP also switches a lot of characters around with Muldoon dying and Hammond surviving for example.

Me too! I knew there was a door, but I thought it was the 2nd floor balcony. The only sentences describing Dr. Wu's position was, "Wu stared out the lodge window at the raptors beyond the fence." and, "Harding came out into the hallway from Malcolm's room." Then Malcolm's room was on the first floor. Was there ever a second floor, I wonder?
I prefer the balcony. It's more shocking. Wu's in a protected spot, where nothing could possibly get to him, yet he's ripped over the railing by a falling raptor.

He is pushing the snout! The shot of his face, you can see his fingers grasped around the front of the snout, but the blood splatter and lighting makes it a little hard to see.

This is absolutely top notch, really makes me wish we had a alternate version of the movie that was closer to the book. Amazing work again & I can't wait to see your next piece, also I really hope you get the chance to do "Nedry's death" scene.
The velociraptors are more intelligent than the people, it seems. A drunk Muldoon who can’t stop calling Ellie “girl,” a stubborn Ellie who refuses to listen to anyone but herself at such a critical time. And Doctor Henry Wu, a brilliant scientist who knows what is about to happen and tries to stop it, but miscalculates the target. I should say, if he hadn’t done that, both Ellie and Muldoon might have been killed by the raptor instead. So, in a way, he redeems himself to some degree by putting himself in harm’s way for the others. If only he had been a hero when the dinosaurs were being recreated and refused to be a part of Hammond’s mad scheme.

I agree with everyone, it would be awesome to get a remake closer to the book. However, if you really think about, a live action remake wouldn't work. The movie is too iconic, and so are the actors. But an animated adaptation of the novel, with violence like the Invincible animated show, would absolutely do it justice. This video proves it.

@ ingen2d Indeed that was very unfortunate, especially considering there were several stories he had planned or was in the middle of writing but never got to finish. I am curious if anyone here has read any of Crichton’s stories outside of the JP series(though the JP novels may still be my favorite).
@ingen2d I have yet to read Prey, but I plan to. I have also read Sphere as well as Congo and Micro(although that one had to be finished by Richard Preston). I found that I really enjoy Crichton’s style of writing.
It's believed that while considered far more intelligent compared to other dinosaurs, the velociraptor's IQ would be more comparable to that of a modern predatory bird like a raven or an eagle. Smart enough to hold memory and do incredibly basic problem solving but nothing too extravagant; still terrifying in a 6-foot reptile 🦖

Dr. Wu didn’t get a lot of screen time in any of the movies, but he did get enough to survive to the end of the last one: Jurassic World: Dominion, which had far fewer casualties than you would expect anyway.
That was absolutely pure, awesomeness!! I vividly remember this part in the book. When I was reading it, I was like, "Wu, you're not armed! And Damn it Ellie, stop being g stubborn and get in! Wu's not a panic monger-" then Dr. Wu was gone. Killed by one of his very own creations. Even before his death he had that realization that his "software" could breed on their own, enamored by his own hubris. There were many ups and downs in the Novels of danger and excitement and thought provoking moments, but when Dr. Wu was killed, I was stunned. I felt, dang.. no one is "safe" so I started to think, "who's next? Who will survive?" I was fearful for Grant and kids, even. Thinking Grant may end up sacrificing himself against the Tyrannosaur. Anyway, reallly great animation! I tend to dabble in stop-motion animation, myself, so it's always cool to see someone else enjoy animation. If I had to critique anything, it's that Ellie's boobs should have had a little more bounce to them when she bolted. Maybe not as much as "the Gainax bounce," but something similar. 😅 Keep up the great work, brother! 👊😎🍻
Always wanted a more novel accurate adaptation and i can't wait to see more progress on evolvedino's project that aims to make that wish more of a reality, the guy is making a soundtrack, scripts, art, and 3D digital dioramas. And honestly it looks awesome so far.

Goodness, there are so many things in the book that would have made JP more of a horror than it has turned into. I sometimes wonder what the franchise would have grown into and been like if they had taken the more Horror approach to the Title? Dino Horror is surprisingly a very fun nich! I often have found myself playing Dinosaur-inspired or JP-inspired games that delve more into the horror side of the massive things lol Just some food for thought, I guess. Also, I love your work, I have Aphantasia and sometimes seeing the action can be hard! I love watching your videos for that reason!!
I still think that it should have been a Utahraptor instead of a Velociraptor. My only reason, to my opinion, is because the height and length of the Velociraptor in both the book and film the exact same as the Utahraptor.

The dialogue was hilarious. It's mostly not anything like the actual dialogue and characters but it's humerus none the less.

There were many ups and downs in the Novels of danger and excitement and thought provoking moments, but when Dr. Wu was killed, I was stunned. I felt, dang.. no one is "safe" so I started to think, "who's next? Who will survive?" I was fearful for Grant and kids, even. Thinking Grant may end up sacrificing himself against the Tyrannosaur.
Anyway, reallly great animation! I tend to dabble in stop-motion animation, myself, so it's always cool to see someone else enjoy animation. If I had to critique anything, it's that Ellie's boobs should have had a little more bounce to them when she bolted. Maybe not as much as "the Gainax bounce," but something similar. 😅

Always wanted a more novel accurate adaptation and i can't wait to see more progress on evolvedino's project that aims to make that wish more of a reality, the guy is making a soundtrack, scripts, art, and 3D digital dioramas. And honestly it looks awesome so far.

Goodness, there are so many things in the book that would have made JP more of a horror than it has turned into. I sometimes wonder what the franchise would have grown into and been like if they had taken the more Horror approach to the Title? Dino Horror is surprisingly a very fun nich! I often have found myself playing Dinosaur-inspired or JP-inspired games that delve more into the horror side of the massive things lol Just some food for thought, I guess.
Also, I love your work, I have Aphantasia and sometimes seeing the action can be hard! I love watching your videos for that reason!!

I still think that it should have been a Utahraptor instead of a Velociraptor. My only reason, to my opinion, is because the height and length of the Velociraptor in both the book and film the exact same as the Utahraptor.
