Great video. This is really going to help me make the right choice in looking for a wireless mic for my camera. Thanks man. I'm going in for lark m1. But, your Go pro footages were dhope.
Thanks bro, I appreciate that! Yeah my next video will be this weekend. I’m putting the lark m2 up against the newly released DJI mic mini. Should be interesting to see how they compare.
Great video! thanks! Is it possible to connect the reciever to iPhone using the classic white Apple (original) aux to lightning test? instead of buying the specific hollyland cable? Thanks!!!!
I’m in the market for a wireless mic system and this looks to almost fit the bill. Like you, I wish it had a 3.5 mm for a lapel mic. Thanks for sharing.
Yeah since the video I don’t use it that much, and it’s now a back-up for the back-up.. Lol! But you’re right if it had a 3.5 Jack I know for sure I would put it back in the rotation.
@@lessonslearnedwithcameras1782 You need to add the Media Mod to the Gopro. This will give you the required 3.5 mm socket with connection to the receiver. The mod has a couple of cold shoes built in, so it's easy to attach the receiver unit.
Nice video! I thought the sound was good even with noise reduction! I have mine on order and hoping to reduce background noise for instruction videos in my factory. Did I miss you saying how you attached it to your shirt? Are you using a magnet or double sided tape? It doesn’t look like it’s clipped on.
Hey Jason, it’s funny I was wondering if anyone was going to ask how did I attach it to my shirt. Lol… I used the magnet necklace from my Insta 360 go 2. It wasn’t as strong as I would’ve liked it to be but it gets the job done in a controlled environment for sure. I probably wouldn’t use it for real street vlogging like that..
@@lessonslearnedwithcameras1782 I wondered that too. Perhaps another kind of magnet could be used, or you could stick up in the collar of your t shirt.
Thanks for this review. A silly question that I can't find an answer to. Please could you advise. We do walking videos and have just bought this set up. With both of us wearing microphones do we need to be set to mono or stereo? If set to mono will the receiver pick up both mics? Thankyou
I always keep it on stereo when I’m using both mics. Stereo is one mic per channel, plus it sounds better honestly. I don’t use my Hollyland a lot now, so I’m a little rusty on it.. lol.
Excellent review. You were using it on the gopro 8 with no problems. I've got the gopro hero7, but they must be quite similar. I take it the Hollyland used a type C connector. Can you please let me know if this is the case.
Thank you so much. Now when you ask if it takes tyoe-c connector, I want to make sure I’m Clear on this. So please give me more details on this question please.
@@lionelmarytravels6003 it charges off a usb-c connection. It also connects to a GoPro by usb-c connection, or at least on the gopro8,9, and 10 it does. I’ve tried it on all of them. If I answered this correct let me know, if not please provide me more information and I’ll try my best to answer correctly. 👍
@@lessonslearnedwithcameras1782 Yes. My gopro uses a C connector. Same as android phones for charging. I've studied the description on the website, but they only show one with the iPhone connector. A canal boater has just done a test on the Hollyland Lark m2 and says it won't work because the gopro doesn't have a jackplug socket. Unfortunately, I don't know how the iPhone differs to android (apart from the fitting). At present my gopro hero7 doesn't give me any options on audio input, the option being grayed out. Many thanks Lionel
Thanks Mate, really good, also interesting for me not being American that you wouldn't be able to leave your camera at a distance while you tested the Mic. Different worlds
Hey Julian.. well it’s all about location, location my friend.. lol! Now don’t get me wrong I would have to pick something that’s a “safe” location to pull it off, but you’re absolutely right different worlds, sad but so true.
I just received mines today. Using them with a gopro9. I noticed the quality is so-so when inside in my basement. Which setting are using on your gopro with the mod on powered, powered-plus, etc...?
Great informative video. Just got the hollyland lark m1. Just curious if you'd know the best volume setting for zv1. Do you set camera to lowest recording level 1 and lark m1 to level 3? Kevin
Thanks Kevin! Well I usually make sure I can see my recording levels on the ZV-1. Then I keep it around -12db. I don’t personally run my camera level at the lowest settings. At least I don’t think I do.. lol. If I were you, I would play around with it a bit to see what sounds good. My memory is a little cloudy with the hollyland lark m1 now since I have it as a back up for my back up.. lol. I still think it’s a great wireless mic set-up.
@lessonslearnedwithcameras1782 thanks for your speedy reply. Have taken what you've said onboard and will try and keep below 12db. Have only used rode shotgun until now. Have a great day Kevin
Yes it will connect to the Sony ZV-E10 since the ZV-E10 has a 3.5mm audio jack and yes it will connect by using a cable. That’s the only way. If you’re talking about through the hot-shoe the answer is no…
good review, I have exactly tha same devices where I want to use them for, but I havent been able to use them, I dont know what is going on. I'm not if I need to set something on the receptor or what, I just plugged them and never happened. Any thoughts? Good review! keep it up!
Hmmmm… are they fully charged? What type of device are you trying to pair it with? Btw.. sorry about the delay in response. This comment for some crazy reason was stuck in review, which I don’t know why.
Hey Gabe, sorry for the late response. When you say you’re having trouble linking your wireless mic to the iPhone, is it a hardware issue? Meaning the cords you are using? Or software related?

how can i purchase an transmitter for my lark m1. one of mine fell in the ocean
Hi feedback if you would have shown setup also would be good thanks
Do you mean set-up in regards to each device the wireless mic was tested on?
Does this connect to a SONY ZV E10 or does it need a cable to connect it or will it not be compatible
Yes it will connect to the Sony ZV-E10 since the ZV-E10 has a 3.5mm audio jack and yes it will connect by using a cable. That’s the only way.
If you’re talking about through the hot-shoe the answer is no…
When you use one does all your sound go to either the left or right?
If I’m just using one mic, all the sound goes to both left and right.
Did you need an attachment for zv1 to attach receiver?
No attachment is needed.
