    Can you do a video of your cart setup, specialty tools, bits etc. I’d luv to see your door dolly and all door hanging tools. Luv seeing different tools and techniques others use.

    12 minutes to install an LCN, you need to pick up the pace! Kidding aside; I never tried installing the arm mount over a seal. I have to give that a try because cutting the seal looks like dog poop. Didn't these closers come with self drilling screws? (I never had an LCN that didn't)

      😆 the more I edit the faster the install gets! Most of the LCNs do come with the SRT screw pack (I think stands for Self Reaming and Tapping) but at this site they came with the WMS screw pack (which I think stands for Wood and Machine Screws). Sometimes the specifications for the site require drilled and tap and sometimes maybe they just give you what they give you. It’s important to install with supplied screws so just drilled and tapped them.

    you changed the drill into low speed for the tapping.👍🏾

      Yes!! I also like to switch it from the drill mode to the Clutch mode when tapping to help prevent breaking taps. The old school guys would spit in their hand and lube the tap up with spit also 😆

    Hello, Drew
    Great Video, Excelente... question, just wondering. why did you not use the template for the install?

    • @drewinstallshardware
      @drewinstallshardware  8 месяцев назад +1

      Thanks for watching! This was the last closer on the job and whatever paperwork or templates that had been in the box had already been stolen 😆 I do use the paper templates sometimes but mostly like to pull the numbers to make sure it’s right where it’s supposed to be. And like with this one, with the screw on seal installed I think just pulling the numbers is easier.

      @@drewinstallshardwarefaster too when install arm to closer before putting closer up to door, I do the same thing! I also did same thing (pull numbers instead of template to door) when installing my Tell 600

    Drew the door stop you use is it a retail item or something you custom made?

    • @drewinstallshardware
      @drewinstallshardware  8 месяцев назад

      The stop built into the closer is a commercial retail item. It’s an arm option for the LCN 4040XP, they call this one CUSH.

      I’m sorry I meant to floor door stop. I’m always using a wood wedge or rock or whatever is heavy enough to hold the door

      @@paulgimenez1846 oh ya sorry. I didn’t make it. It’s actually an extra PA shoe or I call it parallel arm bracket that comes with other LCN models. Works great to prop door open when you are working on them.

    Just dealt with four of these that weren't allowing the doors to fully shut at an Old Navy. I think it was because of the air machine climate control that kicks on when the door was opened which absolutely blew my wig back. Even increased spring power to 6! Who knows..

      Wow! That’s a lot of air. Ya they can only do what they can do. Just don’t let out the magic juice when adjusting 😆

      @@drewinstallshardwareolder ones, too easy to let it out, newer ones, you will strip the threads or mutilate the valve screw itself on the way out, only the backcheck position is not “staked” into the body.
      Your install method (arm on body then install to door) I do this same thing,
      Drew, did yours come standard with cover screw or ordered it that way? Seems the clip on type lose their covers pretty quickly, mine came with clip, got mine during XP launch in 2011

      May need to get maintenance at old navy lower the blower motor speed on the air system above the door, it is called an air curtain, if closer set to spring size 6 cannot handle it, then may be time for an operator or high energy automatic door as they are power open/power close
