Sir. Please help me understand how an Advance Starter signal works. Does the station master wait for a train to reach the next station before giving a clearance to the next train? If so, then what is the use of Automatic Block section?

SM has to wait for train clearance in Absolute Block System, not in Automatic Block area.
In Automatic area after train passes next Automatic signal(at around 1 KM)+120 m, LSS can be taken off 😊

BOL- NLT(not less than) 180 m
SOL-120 m
आपने जो BOL/SOL बताया है वो TAS में होता है,
लेकिन TAS अब use में नहीं है, Exam में भी नहीं आता, इसलिये उसे नहीं याद करना चाहिए

Then both,
SOL+BOL(120 m+180 m)
= 300 m i.e. upto Opp Home Signal is to be kept free before taking off the Home Signal

Normally on S/L Station Section lies between both side Advance Starters (LSS), it is not a fixed distance between both side LSS of S/L or D/L, but approximately it should not be less than 900 metres.
