RESPECTED SIR WHEN THERE IS A COLUMN IN T/B 912 AUTHORITY TO PASS SIGNALS IN ON POSITION THEN WHY WE GIVE AN EXTRA AUTHORITY T/A912
Now as per the latest rule issued by Railway Board (Unified SR) only T/B 912 will be given during TIC on D/L automatic section. T/A 912 not required
S.R. 9.12.2 (B) :- Failure of all signals likely to last for some time and cause serious delay when no means of communications are available in D/L (TIC on Automatic D/L) :- Amendment Slip 17/S.R. 9.12.2 (B) •In case of failure of automatic signals between two or more stations & when line clear cannot be taken by any of the following means, viz. •a. Track circuit & Axle counter where indication of the section between two stations is available on VDU panel. •b. Station to Station fixed telephone wherever available. •c. Fixed telephone such as Railway auto phone & BSNL/MTNL phone. •d. Control Telephone. •e. VHF sets under special instructions, but not as the sole means of communication on sections where passenger trains run. •f. Fixed Telephone with CUG sim which have been provided to the station only for official use to the on-duty SM. Amendment Slip 17/S.R. 9.12.2 (B) •The following procedure shall be adopted for train working :- •(i) It shall be ensured that, Dispatch/Reception Signal of all stations in the affected section shall be put in manual mode through-out the failure and in ON position initially. •(ii) All points concerned shall be correctly set & locked before movement of any train is authorized over them. •(iii) Before any train is allowed to leave the station, it shall be brought to a stand & LP/Motorman & TMR of the train shall be advised of the circumstances by SM. Amendment Slip 17/S.R. 9.12.2 (B) •(iv) SM shall give LP/Motorman & TMR of each train Authority T/B 912 (& shall retain record copy) which shall consist of :- •(a) Authority to Proceed (ATP) without line clear. •(b) Instruction to LP/Motorman to follow rule 9.02 to pass Automatic signal at ON and rule 9.15 to pass automatic signal interlocked to LC Gates in midsection when at ON. •For Starter/Gate signal, LP/Motorman shall pass it only when he receives PHS from a railway servant in uniform & Gates are closed & locked for traffic. Amendment Slip 17/S.R. 9.12.2 (B) •(c) C.O. restricting speed to 15 Kmph over the straight line when view is clear & 10 kmph where the view ahead is not clear due to curve, obstruction, rain, fog or any other cause subject to observance of other speed restrictions imposed. •LP/Motorman must also ascertain that points of the outlying siding/turnouts, if any, are correctly set and locked before passing over them. Speed over facing points being restricted to 15 KMPH. •(v) No train shall be allowed to enter an affected section unless there is a clear interval of 25 minutes between the train about to leave & preceding train. Amendment Slip 17/S.R. 9.12.2 (B) •(vi) (a) When LP/Motorman approaching where view ahead is not clear, ALP/TMR must be sent in advance to guide further movement of the train. •(b) A tunnel shall be entered only after it has been ascertained that it is clear. If there is any doubt on this point, the train shall be piloted by a railway employee equipped with hand signals and detonators. •(vii) TMR shall keep a sharp look out in rear & be prepared to exhibit a danger signal to prevent approach of a train from rear & to protect. Before entering a section where there are tunnels, he shall also switch on the side & tail lights on EMUs etc. Loading… Amendment Slip 17/S.R. 9.12.2 (B) •(viii) If train is unable to move further due to any reason, TMR should protect in rear by placing one detonator at 250 m on the way out and 2 detonators, 10 m apart, at 500 m from train.

During night working if Tail lamp switch off due to any reason what an action shoud be taken by a train manager.
No written rule for this in G&SR, but practically TMR should inform SM & Controller. If possible some alternative arrangement can be made by SM.😊
