- Elizabeth Bennet and Mr Darcy's love was a slow burn full of tension and boy oh boy do we have the stolen glances and awkward silences to prove it!
What is Pride & Prejudice (2005) about?
A cinematic adaptation of Jane Austen's classic novel; sparks fly when spirited Elizabeth Bennet (Keira Knightley) meets single, rich, and proud Mr. Darcy (Matthew Macfadyen). But Mr. Darcy reluctantly finds himself falling in love with a woman beneath his class. Can each overcome their own pride and prejudice?

I've watched this movie over a 100 times, read the book several times an I'm still in love with any word and picture.
I'm binge watching this, the 1940 film, the 1980 TV series, and the 1995 TV series. Each has its own virtues, but I really love Matthew Macfadyen's portrayal. Haunted lovers get me every time!!!
Я тоже могу тысячу раз смотреть один фильм и всю жизнь читать одну книгу
You would Luv Thomas Hardy’s ‘Far From the Madding Crowd’…With Matthias Schoenaerts as Gabriel Oak and Carey Mulligan as Bathsheba Everdene.
Incredible cast!
It’s a Beautiful film just like P&P…
Me too 🙂🙂
Finally someone who got me
I love to see a man so vulnerable yet still able to exert his masculinity. Who wouldnt love a Mr Darcy 😊
I love the second scene 😂 Darcy is so stunned to see her that he forgets to get up like a gentleman is supposed to when a lady enters.. And then he realises he's just sitting down like an idiot and JUMPS UP
OMG that's true 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Reine ×---' 15 aisée loi !
I do love this scene, for precisely the same reason
Mr. Darcy is so painfully awkward and it’s adorable.
I just love the scene at 3:17 where Darcy barges into the Collins house just to see Lizzie. He's totally smitten and just wanted to be near her.
The chemistry between them is off the charts - a vital ingredient in all love stories and they do it perfectly.
Por favor qué sea en español pues no sé ingles ni otro idioma gracias
Mr. Darcy’s double take on lizzy is one of the best parts of the movie.🤣
You have bewitched me body & soul…
My favorite line in a movie, ever.
This single movie has forever set my standards for a good respectful cute af romance that I doubt I will ever get. But srsly, there wasnt a single kissing scene yet it was the most touching romance ever. Hollywood should learn.
There is actually an extra scene at the end of the movie! I don’t know if it got cut off or what but they do actually kiss!!
@@melobski4 ah yess i have watched it. I think it's in the American release or smthing....i actually watched that version initially and didn't know there's a whole bunch of ppl who never got to watch that scene XD. But it was kinda in the aftermath of their marriage so i didnt think of it writing this comment lol
Yes there is a kissing scene in US version
7:54 the smile ya'll have been waiting for
Right? His smile...THAT is incandescence. ✨
😍
Yesss 🥹
HOW HAVE I NEVER NOTICED THAT DOUBLE TAKE IN THE FIRST CLIP????? i love how i can watch this movie dozens of times and still find something new with every single rewatch
Agreed! There is a moment in the second dance they all attend...Mr. Collins has cornered Elizabeth in a dance and as they pass back and forth, Mr. Collins and Charlotte come face to face and pause momentarily, imperceptibly. Such excellence in directing, editing and production. 🔥
The collection if all these scenes condensed has me in a puddle of melted fluff 🤣
Why does Mr. Darcy have to be so perfect?
I'm a huge fan of enemies to lovers stories... nothing compares to pride and prejudice ❤️
Please read the book. Darcy is a flawed character and so is Elizabeth. That is the point which seems to have zoomed right over your head. The title alone should have been a clue for you. Perhaps you were speaking of the actor's looks. To each their own. This one looks like a bedraggled puppy that someone kicked and then left out in the rain. Pitiful perhaps, but not much of a man.
@@valkyriesardo278well this is one aggressive attack that came out of nowhere at all. I'll do my best to read the book for the 10th time soon to satisfy you, dear. For someone who seems to be so aware of Mr. Darcy's flaws, you might want to take a deeper look inside to discover those very same flaws in you. Like undue arrogance and conceit and an excessively judgemental attidue towards strangers 🤦🏻♀️
I hope that similar to Darcy, you have redeeming qualities to makeup for those.... lovely personality traits. otherwise, dear rude youtube commenter, you're in for a rough time in life...
I just finished the book and I loved it so much. Such an amazing love-story, and I despise romance usually lol.
I don’t know how many times I’ve watched these, and you always find something new. WOW
Such a beautifully written story, possibly the best romance novel ever written and so well portrait by all of those involved. Britain certainly has a deep pool of exceptional talent in so many, many areas. Thank you Jane Austin.and all concerned. 🇺🇸
You do realize that all of the Jane Austin books are about the games around marriage between the very rich and the even richer, yes?
Brilliant story and movie though.
This story is the reason why im halfway through a degree in English Literature x
The way he says I love you cannot be better expressed.
I can watch these scenes forever and every time my heartbeat flies
This movie is in my top 5 best all time movies I have ever watched in my lifetime. I must of seen it dozens of times. They couldn't of picked a better cast.
I have to protest because Kneightly is the worst Elizabeth on film, her grins and her hair are absurd, and all the rest of the characters are wrong too--American Sutherland as the father? Judy Dench misinterpreting the aunt? Yes, MacFadyen is a dreamy Darcy, but he is not Austen's Darcy either. BTW it's 'must have seen' and 'couldn't have picked', not 'of''.
@@rogerpropes7129BTW it’s Knightley - not Kneightly.
They could and they did. I have not seen every version but thus far, this one is the worst. Hopefully, your lifetime has been very short thus far and you will have opportunity to see many more films of better quality. I've seen a few clips from this one and could not subject myself to watching it from start to finish. You say you've seen it dozens of times. I urge you to leave it there and move up.
I agree entirely, the best adaptation I have ever seen, the cast are superb, and Mathew McFadyen is the best Mr Darcy thus far!
How can you not include the scene in the rain when he first confesses????
Because God is merciful.
THIS IS A CHARMING HOUSE breaking the awkward silence always gets me xD
When he got so excited that he held her hand to help her on the carriage…❤
I'm so glad they brought this movie back to Netflix, I had been wanting to watch it for awhile but just missed it when it got taken off. There's just something so beautiful and moving about quiet and wholesome love like this.
And man, when Mr. Darcy finally smiled for the first time when he and Elizabeth teased each other fondly 🥹 My heart constricted love this story so much
It’s free on RUclips w ads now!
I want that love more than anything, love without many words, love without needs and expectations, a love that is simple and right, hornable, and true, longlasting, and runs deep. Love that is quiet, without distractions, love that with one look can communicate a thousand words. True love, real love.
It's a pleasant surprise to know someone still like you exists! Hard to see people like you in my life at the very least :(
@@cse024anujyadav5 😏thank u. Its hard to find people that want love and not just pleasure. Love even when its hard.
Hornable?
@@dabear2438 hahah man, i need help on spelling. Honorable.
@@maryastutzman5654 LOL! At least we got a smile from it. 😉
These two make me want to fall in love again. That type of romance.. The tension... The deep stares.. omgosh, I want this!!❤❤❤❤
This is the version of P&P I shall ever watch, & I find it brings me a certain peace. It's not just the 2 leads, it's the scenery, the way the camera flows, & oh the music 🎶
These two are best I've seen. No replacement yet to par their performance.
A slow burner indeed but such a good movie!!! When I first saw this as a young girl I had allllll the feels about their relationship and I still do!!
That sunrise, the glorious lens flare, omg, absolutely perfect cinematography at it's finest. Even Mother Nature approved their match.
Love this version and these actors.
Mr Darcy lives in my heart 😊
Such chemistry and still one of my all time favs ❤
Much prefer this version than the 1995 version as Darcy is softer and loveable 😍😍😍
Colin Firth was more believable for me
I prefer Colin Firth
1995 is much closer to the book.
@@destinychild4659 very true
"2006 Darcy" looks more shy than proud. i mean... the story "pride and prejudice" is supposed to be about a proud man. so I prefer "1995 Darcy" rather. moreover, the old version is almost identical to the original story in the book. in the 2006 film adaptation, it almost looks like lissie is the proud one 🌚
His eyes 👀 uffffffffff I can feel only just love love and love
I watched this movie for 2 weeks straight everyday. Such a masterpiece ❤
Relatable
I agree❤
Keira is the cutest thing❤
Its imposible to get enough of this movie
I am heading that way too.
Thank you Jane Austen. I have read the book several times, and enjoy this interpretation.
Excellent cast, acting and script.. beautiful cinematography and one of my favs..can watch over and over.❤️
I must watch the entire movie now! Sweet Goddess, Matthews proposal as the sun comes up :deep sigh:
I think the attraction the two characters had was their deep love of their sisters. Birds of a feather or should I say family first! They saw the world from the same lens.
Yes, that meant a lot to both of them. I think when she seems him with his sister, she was already a goner, but this makes her love him more.
Love, love, love this movie.
Ich liebe, liebe, liebe diesen Film.
Just the best film ever!!!
*I’m still bewitched 17yrs later by this movie, 🥹*
Thé best adaptation ever, it has bewitched my body and soul, I love… love …I love it!
This Mr Darcy is gorgeous too.
The way Mr. Darcy blinks when his sister says, "My brother has told me so much about you." OMG, GEORGINA, Will you shut up!"
I believe Jane Austen has him like this in her mind when she was writing the book
Prejudice against seeming pride, which was largely shyness, but also being trapped in social mores
I think so too
I think so too
Blimey, can't believe this masterpiece was created 17 years ago
Watch this couple is pure joy in every version😂❤ since 1995 series to Bridget Jones
I love the manners of that society.
Já assisti várias vezes este filme. Quando vou assistir novamente, é como fosse a primeira vez. Adoro cada cena.
Oh... To find a love like this...
Oh dear I cannot tease you about that, such a shame for I really love to laugh !!
I am so going to use this whenever someone will get a little boastful!!!😅
Just love this video!! Thank you :))
Yall missed the one moment with the most tension....the rain scene where he almost kisses Lizzy
ESSE FILME É LINDO😍 PERFEITO👍 MARAVILHOSO❤❤❤
The camera work is superb. You can feel the anxiety when they quickly zoom in.
Whole cast, was so incredible ...not a blade of grass, out of place 🌬🌠🎭🖼🧸

Love ❤️ this version...loved the rain scene
Stolz und Vorurteile ist ne tolle Geschichte
Dammit! Darcy just wanted to walk with Lizzy so badly. She should have said Yes!!
I believe she refused because she thought he was with someone else (georgiana) as she didn't know she was his sister at the time.
@@daliah7089 she said no initially because Darcy had meddled with Bingly courting her sister Jane- thus breaking her sister’s heart. Furthermore, her opinion of him was also tainted by an officer that later ran off with one of her younger sisters. He also called her ugly upon their first meeting when he refused to dance with her. The list goes on. The main point is after he proposes and she refuses- he goes back and tries to fix some of this.
@@thegirlwiththatfaceno, Darcy has explained those affairs in the letter, I think Lizzy felt embarrassed at this time, she didn't know how to face Darcy, so refusing him is somehow an occasion to calm down. Otherwise, what did she say to him when walking together?
That would have been lovely. But she's so embarrassed and so full of desire, she had to be alone to calm herself down. And had she gone walking with him, he would not have showed up at the inn to ask the family to dinner. He's always been one step ahead of her, and that was such a classy move. "You're not getting away from me this time, Lizzie."
please.. recommend me a movie as good as this one😭

Une très belle histoire d'amour, dans une époque où se rencontré du fait de l'éducation et ou des différences entre les riches et les gents peut aisé... Austin had no idea what poor means I guess, 😅
But i love all her books...
Jane Austen was poor all of her life. She was around wealth enough to write about it though.

Quand ils dansent le menuet,' j’adore le mouvement circulaire de la caméra qui suggère subtilement que ces deux là se tournent autour!
Perfection in every way
THAT IS A MOVIEEEEE
Mr Bingleys sister is Beth from Yellowstone
I’m reading this book right now
Que pena que el traductor de Google no traduce bien . Me encanta Orgullo y Prejuicio
La version de 1995 est plus convainquante.
Wow ....
