    Its crazy how many things are put in our path to lead us to magic. I remember watching this video and looking up josephine mccarthy. Which then led me to find a real magic course(that was free of cost). Foolish Fish you have my undying gratitude for helping me find my own path. You will forever hold a special place in my journey.

    Josephine McCarthy, I have an intellectual crush with this woman. She has given me everything I lack; humility, intuition, she does not see magick as an operation, she has managed to make magick palpable in to her everyday life. That is extreamly hard.

      @@FoolishFishBooks Hi FF, I'm 6 months into magic and your channel and reviews have been very helpful to me. I've mostly been working G.o.M stuff (after your recommendation) and can't say I've had anything happen yet that I can directly attribute to any of that work, yet have had 'clearer' 'results' working with some Chaos techniques and other practices I have developed myself. I have also been watching all interviews with Dr Stephen Skinner and starting with his recommendation of Techniques of High Magic. In immersing myself more into the world of Dr Skinner, and Frater Ashen Chassan I have the impression that neither would place any value on G.o.M material whatsoever - As you have promoted all three that I have mentioned, I am somewhat confused and interested in how you feel G.o.M can exist in the same world as the techniques used by the other two. Any thoughts and/or experiences would be appreciated. Thanks for all your work.

    • @FoolishFishBooks
      @FoolishFishBooks  3 года назад +6

      @@forever3797 Dr Skinner and Fr. Ashen Chassan both approach magic from a perspective that you must follow the recipe or fail. I strongly disagree with that. I think it's Rufus Opus who suggested that if you take your wife on a date one day and it ends up in bed, doing the exact same thing the next day won't necessarily have the same outcome - counting how many roses you brought and ensuring you both have the exact same food and drink, and ensuring you have the exact same conversation just isn't going to be the key to a night of passionate love. I actually have a lot of respect for both these practitioners, but it's their scholarship and their contributions to the availability of historical texts that I respect. Not their technique.

    Don’t know if I like it yet. Still giving it a chance but it is totally different from everything thing else I have studied. I prefer hermetic/Kabbala system over this one; but I am giving it a chance to grow on me and my practice. Golden Dawn by Regardie is still my preferred occult book and I have and read many of them. Also as a suggestion check out Traditional Witchcraft A Cornish Book of Ways by Gemma Gary I picked up the black autographed edition by her years ago and have enjoyed that book even though it’s not my preferred system either. Interesting use of planetary squares is in this book as well. Has a companion book, The Black Toad. They are published by Troy Books. I live in America and had to order them from England, pay the exchange and wait quite a while for shipment but it was worth it I love my black edition the cover is nice, It’s also cool to get her autograph. Troy books usually does special additions like that in a limited run.

The kindle should have been out already but everything has been slowed right down with the pandemic... it is taking the distributers ages to do anything as they are so short staffed. I've just been getting into magic in the last 6 months starting with some Gallery of Magick books such as archangels and the 72 angels of power. The more I listen to Dr Stephen Skinner and Frater Ashen Chassan the more I wonder how Foolish Fish can promote both as being in the same world (would love further understanding from FF re this). From my impression of Dr Skinner I don't think he would consider the G.o.M to be effective in any way. I've been working for 6 months with G.o.M stuff and can't say I've had anything happen yet that I can directly attribute to any of that work, yet have had 'clearer' 'results' working with some Chaos techniques and other practices I have developed myself. Yes parasitic entities are a big thing to be wary of in magick. If your psychic then you can see them. Entities are everywhere around us constantly (that is a whole different story on whether they are completely latched on and draining you or not though).

    • @JB-og8gn
      @JB-og8gn 2 года назад

      This is a huge problem that is not discussed nearly enough, perhaps because some people are not aware they have them. A big part of getting into magick was actually an attempt to deal with this after a spontaneous Kundalini awakening. Josephine is an exorcist so has a lot of experience with this. I am glad she talks about it. So many social media practitioners poo poo parasites, entities, and curses, which I think really does many a disservice. I wish there was more effort to distinguish between the often casual, insta, manifest nice things practitioners v. what you deal with when you are either psychically open or have done types of magic that open major portals. (Zero shade re: the former…I would love if that was my path!)

      This is important, and I actually mentioned it last week in the news video.
      Some of the hardbacks have the wrong paperback attributed.
      If you see 'book 1' or whatever number, then that is one of the early paperbacks when the whole series was divided into 15 parts. JMcC has taken the old paperbacks out of circulation, but Amazon doesn't just take your stuff off circulation (I know, having tried to get my own imperfect material off there). • @pearlsachiko2667

      I have maladaptive daydreaming and it is more about soothing or feeding the ego. Most maladaptive daydreams are just fantasy as a way to deal with trauma and the lack of love and neglect that we feel in our life. It can actually hinder magickal practice IMO because the brain is used to following a tangent and prone to overthinking. Certain magickal practices include a lot of meditative, focusing exercises and also dissolution of the ego. You need to sit with your reality rather than escaping it, IMO.
