The section addressing " What is under our control," is in itself thought provoking.
From Surah Al Kahf, The Cave, we learn that when we are asleep, it is Allah who turns us to left and right! So even this is not under our control!
    Mind blowing.

Also it says Allah asked other creations of his for this challenge but they all declined. This means we will still have existed even if we didn't accept this challenge. Allah didn't blackmail us.*

  • @vugar892
    @vugar892 2 месяца назад +1

Thank you. I would also like to add my opinion which is similar :)
I believe when Allah created us , he then gave us 2 options: Option 1: back to non-existence , Option: 2 heaven/hell after earth.
So God created us but the choice to come to earth was our will. So we can only blame ourserselves, not God.
Another point I asked myself in the past, what if I chose nonexistence instead of heaven on Judgement day? I strongly believe that it would be impossible. Because as Rene descartes say: "I think therefore I am ". Since we are thinking right now, it implies that we did not choose non existence. If we chose non existence, we would not be able to think or exist right now. Because source is lost. Our soul is not bind to Earth time. Think of it as computer and it was unplugged. This was just my opinion. Thanks.

    • @tanerserdar

S.a. Thats not the answer to the question.
When Allah (swt) asked the souls “am I your Lord?”, they were already created. Moreover, they were only asked if Allah was their Lord or not. And they confirmed He was. This was the covenant.
However, the question in the video comes from the disbelievers so the Quran is not an evidence for them. This is the reason that the doctor provides a philosophical evidence. He says, you cannot have an ability to make a choice before you are created.
Another important thing is, did the souls who said “you are our Lord” have a choice to exist or not exist?
So, you are missing the point here…

  • @beautylover123

It is an interesting take on the topic. However, it is not accurate and there are multiple counter arguments.
1- To make a choice between non-existence and existence sounds like an easy choice.
2- The choice , however, appears to have been a choice of existence for a short and testing life , followed either by eternal heaven or by eternal hell, versus the choice of non-existence.
3- Such choice is not straight forward as the choice in 1 above. One can argue that the benefit of existence can be outweighed by the potential risk of suffering in an eternal hell, and that a “risk averse” soul might choose non-existence over the risk of eternal suffering. Other souls, which are more optimistic or maybe confident about its destiny , would opt for existence.
4- The real question is how you make a choice? You make a choice based on judgement, experience and logical evaluation of options and consequences. What are the capabilities of a newly created soul to make a reasonably informed choice ? And why different souls can make different choices or should they all be making the same choice if it is the only attractive choice ?
5- In my humble opinion, the dynamics of making an “informed” choice remain a mystery , unless :
    - non-existence is worse than the potential of eternal suffering.
    - There is no eternal suffering, and it is only temporary.
    - The ones making the choice don’t understand the risks and are tempted by the rewards of existence followed by eternal bliss.
My conclusion is that the “choice” dynamics and the state of awareness and the basis on which the souls made their choices remain a mystery.
Also , some conventional religious interpretations of certain verses about the topic , suggest that mankind forgot about his covenant with God and was also ignorant and unfair , either in his choices or in the fulfillment of his covenants . ظلوماً جهولاً

@@tanerserdar the way the point was explained in the video is that the soul was first created then given a choice to exist in human form with a body and flesh or to cease to exist . Hence , my comment and arguments. So, obviously in that context, the creation of the soul was not a choice .

your misunderstanding of my post has led you to few erroneous assumptions.
the verses cited, are to show that, from an islamic perspective, some events had occured in another realm prior to our descent to this physical world.the first verse is validating what the gentleman is saying, about the choice to go to earth at the onset of our conception. Here in the verse the choice for humans to carry the soul versus inanimate objects, therefore bearing all conscious decisions that follows.
the second verse is merely to validate prior communication, antecedent to this earthly life.
so, your first fallacy is a straw man argument!
your second misconception is that, this question is addressed by non believers why use religious text to answer it?
If we were watching the same videos I think the gentelman is purely using metaphysical arguments( soul, God, angel of death etc..) along with rational ones to address the questions!! Again, to relieve your confusion this question is theophilosophical of nature, meaning the questioner is already assuming the existence of a divine entity (the one who did not give him the choice).Your false asumption of "disbeliever" led you misunderstand the essence of the debate at hand.
to clarify the mater further, the aim of people who ask this question are assuming the veracity of first proposition i.e existence of God, creation, determinism and so on. So they are expecting from you a theophilosphical answer. therefore the validity to use, your scriptures and any philosphical argument you may have . Capiche?
      Amongst the different answers given.
Accepting that your are created by a divine force and you had no choice, is an argument from ignorance, not knowing the answer does not mean there is no answer.
waking up, and finding your self in a train without prior knowledge of it, would not trigger the question: " I had no choice to be here"
but rather a rational inquiry of : "how I end up in here"? "who put me in here"? "where am I going"? .Existential questions!
from a theophilosophical perspective, the answer is related to the divine will, and divine wisdom."he is not questioned about what he does, but they will be questioned" quran 21:23. in our world if your boss sets the rule your are not to question them you just follow why? because he has the will ,the power and he knows the wisdom behind his decisions. I hope this clear enough

My friend, you are never going to understand my point are you? Maybe you just do not want to understand.
The logic is simple, it is not like waking up on a train. If you wake up on a train, you have a biological body, free will and intellect. You will obviously question how you got there.
But the argument is very clear, at sometime back in history, you did not exist. Not spiritually, not physically. So, you are a contingent being whose existence depends on an external will and power.
A contingent being does not have the choice to exist or not exist. Something other than you makes that decision.
This means you never had the choice to exist or not exist.
The question is not as complex as you try to put it.
Therefore it is you who is misunderstanding the argument!!!
I have included the exclamation marks because it seems like you think when you include those your argument is correct.
