    Being an instructional fishing technique video also can be a buyers guide video to pinpoint directly what to buy, specifically in rod section. Will help a lot of anglers, beginners specially, to buy the right set up.

    So what are the pros of texas rig, as there's already jigheads with weedles hooks which is kind of same thing, but great tips anyway!

    • @SavageGear
      @SavageGear  2 года назад +1

      The weedless jigheads still snack up easier than a prober tied Texas rig. You can pull that through anything :)

    Really great video! But it is unclear for us whether there is any substantial advantage of Texas rig over traditional jig head or cheburashka methods.

    • @SavageGear
      @SavageGear  2 года назад

      Yes, it seems we could have been better there. But roughly said, when there´s lot of snacks Texas rules, then Cheb heads and last Jigheads. Also the articulation of Texas or Cheb gives fantastic action on the lures. Jigheads cast further and sink faster.

    If you’re locking the weight in place on the Texas rig, what makes it any different then to say a weedless cheb rig? And do just slowly straight retrieve or do you twitch the bait back?

    • @SavageGear
      @SavageGear  2 года назад +1

      The Texas rig is far more “flush” and goes much easier thru weed and branches.
      The speed depends on the type of lure and action pattern. Start medium speed and adjust to reaction of the perch !👍🎣

    • @deeelo
      @deeelo Год назад +1

      It doesn't really make much difference as you say.... A true texas rig shouldn't be locked into place it's defeating the other main object of the rig which is the disconnection of the lure from the weight.

  • @mattdunnell2298
    @mattdunnell2298 2 года назад

    I’m struggling to see the difference between Texas fishing compared to Cheb and Jighead? The weight is locked right on the bait, same as Cheb and Jig. What’s the difference and benefit?

    • @SavageGear
      @SavageGear  2 года назад

      There´s that Texas is absolutely snack free... you can get most of the same with a Cheb Head, from there it´s about YOU and how you want your rig to look, fish and what you like to cast the best. The Texas rig is great, but there´s alternatives, be sure to watch the next episode ;)

    Don't hold a perch one-handed horizontal by it's lower jaw. In an effort to look cool you're wrecking it's jaw joint.

    • @GillmanStudio
      @GillmanStudio 11 месяцев назад +1

      It's a crazy practice which sadly even very experienced fishermen are doing in videos like this and young and new anglers are copying it. In fact I was quite surprised our teacher here is even doing it. One only needs to look at it to see it distorts the fishes posture not in a good way and there are videos here on youtube of Perch up to 45cm being lifted that way, imagine the pressure on the jaw and spine. If you must lip grip at least support the body at all times! I think it s seen a cool because it makes the fish angry and the erects the dorsal fin, yeh looks good but the fish is telling you 'this hurts'! Maybe its cultural, in the UK we insist on landing nets and supporting fish especially larger fish by the body. The Perch fishers Society strongly advise against it as some research has been done that suggests damage occurs though it won't be obvious to the angler at the time. The sad thing is this practice is completely unnecessary, there is no advantage, nothing a small pan landing net wouldn't do better and with more care to the fish. As a result I won't be buying any Savage Gear products, the brands should do the right thing and support better fish handling. People will disagree of course saying the fish was hooked and played of course BUT in water the weight is supported and when swung in if smaller the fish is hanging straight. Once you grip the lower lip and twist your wrist for the photo, thats when the posture is twisted and all the weight is on the one point.

    • @SavageGear
      @SavageGear  2 года назад +2

      The bullet isn´t fixed on this setup, but there´s a silicone stopper to keep the bullet in place. So articulated as the Texas Rig, but with the bullet kept in place. We are in the minor details here :)
