Also the level of control is totally different in both of them. So ultimately it comes to the person and his own desires. In my opinion, ies is better
Yes, what I meant was, that you'll always be working in academia, and your exposure will be limited, you'll be able to control less number of people, but it is a very relaxed, and great for someone who loves academics. Whereas in ies, there is more diversity, more control, and it will be more hectic. Both jobs are good, one should compare based upon his/her interests.
