Yes, it was shot on 35mm film, which was the standard up until digital filming took over. Good choice by Taylor because it looks classic and great. It is pretty hard to do 35mm now because I think Kodak is the only one who makes and supports it, and of course unlike digital you have to get it developed. As far as the dishes go, that is how a couple does it. It is normal. One person will be clearing the table and carrying things out to the kitchen and the other is cleaning them. Not sure why people find it odd or troubling.
Thanks for the info about how it was shot! About the dishes, I know that's how it's done lol. We do the same at home. It's not so much the act itself but how it was executed and how the sound was mixed. The sound built so much tension. You could hear every single sound the dishes were making when being dropped or handled. And the way the actor (Dylan) was moving and leaving the dishes, as in his body language, was very tense and like he was challenging her to pick a fight or something. So it wasn't the act itself that caught my eye, but rather the vibe in that scene and how they emphasised certain things.
yes, he didn't show for her b-day, BUT not just ANY b-day her 21st B-DAY. (there is a whole song about it in the same album "the moment I knew") also, people believe (me included😁) that BECAUSE her 21st b-day was so miserable (thanks to... you guessed it) that is why the following song AFTER "all too well" (regular version not 10 min) is actually 22 MAKING IT a point that after THAT fiasco she was gonna make a bigger deal about turning 22 rather than 21... and from what I've heard and seen by people reacting to the "22" song it worked. since all I hear is "I was so excited to turn 22 and blast this song", or "when I turned 22 THIS was my song" etc. wouldn't really know much about the 21st b-days, in my country the big deal is 18th and I am also older than her so when "22" was out I was 26 so I didn't get to enjoy it as my b-day anthem🥲 but the vibe STILL stands so.
Ohhhhhhhhh I love that connection made between the songs. And it actually makes so much sense. In my country I think we make a bigger deal out of 18 as well. I could have used 22 as my birthday anthem when I turned 22 but I wasn't a swiftie back then so that didn't happen. Now I'm too old to use it but I love that people were using it as a sound to make new year's videos on tiktok and instagram reels. I loved seeing it become popular again.
