I think this is a good idea! Web3 social internet is always going to be an uphill battle, though. A couple of ideas I had while watching: 1) I heard about this feature on a different alt-reddit style site, but now I can't find it, either way it's not an original idea, but it is a good one. Using a two axis voting model on content instead of just up and down. One can either agree or disagree with a post, and one can find a post good or high quality. Disagreeing with a well-made earnest good-faith post shouldn't lead to a downvote that affects that post's ability to exist. So just having two ways to ways to vote i.e. an agreement axis and a quality axis, where both can get rewarded, but only the quality score can lead to disciplinary action is a very cool idea. 2) Maybe the reward for being a mod should attenuate instead of just having a time limit. If someone is willing to mod for progressively less coin, they should be allowed. I think this will be a very important mechanism for small
Hi @Josh Pond, Solid point and thanks for this comment. Great to get suggestions, build on top on! 1) Oh really, sounds awesome (alt-reddit) let me know if you find the name. Yeah, I agree... it's a bit of a balance as if the community is self policing the general consensus should remove post from the UI. Contreversial posts should be shown (as in one that there is an equal proportion of upvotes to downvotes)... Also reducing the likeniess of 'space echo chambers' (play on words intended). 2) Wow, good feedback. Incenitivising while slashing rewards for being a mod for a while would leave the passionate mods to remain at least. This is healthier, and removes the potential "Mod Grinding for Tokens". Great points. Much appreciated!
I just dreamt about web3 social app like a month ago and I am glad someone is working on the same dream I had. though mine is kinda half centralized, half decentralized.
Really interesting idea. A couple things that I think could be issues 1. Because your social score is tired to you upvote score, this can create echo chambers were people with different opinions would essentially be viewed the same as a bad actor or bot. (This is already the case on Reddit though) 2. How big of a concern would there be fire people creating accounts, achieving the minimum UCR score and selling their account?
This is actually pretty dope. I thought it was going to be another one of those Lens Protocol clones (basically twitter clone). This project is like Steemit + Reddit. This is hella cool man.
Thanks @Marlon Johnson, JoinSpace was designed early ‘22. Built from the ground up. It’s main design is to explore how we can leverage the smart contracts/ Layer 1 to scale a social media on the blockchain. Providing advantages e.g native ETH payments etc. Lens Protocol is very nice, and addresses a lot of the scalability (Layer 2) issues too. And may be something worth exploring/integrating somewhere the future!
I really appreciate your efforts! I need some advice: My OKX wallet holds some USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). Could you explain how to move them to Binance?
Not sure if a registration/login through the wallet is a good idea considering the fact that just around 1% of the worlds population have a wallet at all. Maybe that project might be interesting for tech-people, but not scalable to mainstream societies.
Web3 Dapps are defo niche atm (in the early adopter) stages. And is most likely to be used by other early adopters. User Expereince is defo a growth pain atm. Good point. DApps are primarily designed so you can interact via a Wallet. Rather than an oAuth2.0 sign in via Google / username or password. This provides the benefit of using your wallet for payments and decentralisation. (+ not holding your personal data is a plus).
1- there are few issues with control, you can't relay on people vote. unless offer reward for those who are filtering content for community . one stone for two purposes enjoy & clean 2- using AI to check content text.
Good suggestion. Joinspace is primarily designed to be fully decentralised, with deterministic logic i.e voting system logged on chain. Think of this as the base layer. AI and other algorithms can sit on top (off chain) - as not to have any training data bias. A simple vote system determined by the community would be the core logic. Great points, thanks for sharing.

@@EbenKouao hmm, I love the concept, but does the drawback of having to pay gas for posts outweigh the pros of the decentralization of the platform? Is there any other crypto currency that does not cost gas? If not, is there any other free way to create a decentralized platform?
So to incentivize good behavior and discourage bad behavior. You gotta remember. Web3 is sensor resistant but the platform itself may not be. It means you can do what ever with the data you choose. That being said firstly depending on the content the bad actor is posting it could be appropriate to "deplatform" an account, lets say terrorism for example. However if it does not arise to that level I think you have several options. Option 1) Decentivise bad actors. There are a few ways I see bad actors working. Posting bad posts, posting bad comments, creating bad communities. You can handle the communities by shutting them down easy enough. Strike against the account repeat offenses deplatform. You can restrict posting either by waiting a time, or approval required. These are a bit harsh, but quite effective if used appropriately. You can restrict commenting as well. You can allow the poster to turn comments on/off or disable for users they want. Option 2) Incentivise good actors. Rewarding people for good is a good idea. I think in other websites you may see weighted stuff so if a person with a good rep boosts you, its more important then a new account created 30 seconds ago to prevent people from creating fake accounts to boost themselves and harm others. Rewarding the users with tokens is an interesting idea. It might be able to even encourage keeping the site more active which might be a beneft.
I also worked on this project. I am feeling very happy about eben that he has launched his web3 project successfully. congratulation for 50k subs.
nice work sir! i also follow your tutorials
He’s a cool dude too 😎
I just found you from your robot arm video. Super cool creator!!!
Love how you explain blockchain technology; it's such an important topic.

I never realized how much potential there is in altcoins.
If you utilize web 3 in a social media app, do i need to still utilize paid backend hosting services like firestore or amazon's hosting services.

Try posting your question on JoinSpace ;)
