I started watching Turkish dizis in 2016 and have been to Turkey several times. The programs show a lot of history, culture, action and family values. The story lines are kind of predictable but fun to watch for the drama and the actors/actresses are good-looking. It's a great way to learn the language because you have English subtitles and can hear how words are pronounced.
In Italy too. It took the Ottomans a few more centuries than they originally planned but they finally conquered Western Rome. I'm Italian and I can't go nowhere without hearing a Turkish name I would need at least 3 years to learn how to pronounce correctly. My grandma is watching a Turkish drama and she call the actors "that one" and the "son of that couple" "the sister of the one that went to jail" "the wife of that one" cause she can't pronounce those names either, but she is stubborn and she keeps watching all those turkish dramas anyway.

They are also quite popular in Azerbaijan. Here people watch Turkish TV without translation because our languages are close. Little children started speaking Turkish because they watch cartoons in Turkish. My childhood was in the 90s, I watched Latin American soap operas in Russian (our TV channels did not translate back then), that's how I learned Russian. But Latin American soap operas disappeared in the early 2000s and were replaced by Turkish ones.
Not a blend. It has Turkish characteristic literally but using an adaptation to the World. Similar to the case of Japanese and Korean cultures using an adaptation to the World.
in the series you also see how diverse Turkish looks are and it is indeed representative for the entire Turkish population. We have Eastern Asian looking Turks, we have Turks looking llike Middle Easterns, we have Turks being pale and fair haired with bright colored eyes. Turkey has them all and Im especially proud of this.
Since i have been watching Turkish Dramas i am totally addicted, i can't hardly watch English or American movies now, I find the acting doesn't get any better than the Turkish artists, they are amazing. The stories are compelling to watch. The Turkish directors understand what the people enjoy and they really know how to cast their movie actors with beautiful and talented people at the forfront.
Turkey is inheritor of some great empires(a couple of them actually). You can see all sorts of colors and types in Turkey. They may look like as Mongolians(they are related), Chinese(where they are geographically from) and as Tom Cruise or a Swedish blond.. Go and see it..
Yes, for example, my mother's side are Turks who came from Crimea centuries ago, and my father's side are Turks who came from Uzbekistan, Bukhara and Samarkand. Among my relatives, there are also those who look like Tom Cruise.
This is true. Turkish dramas portray meaningful stories, culture, family values and true love. Its relatable to most people and cultures around the world. Unfortunately Hollywood has been giving us some disappointing dark content. The fun part about turkish series is that we can watch it as family audience. Some of their shows are extremely thrilling and intriguing..... Korean dramas are amazing but Turkish dramas are life changing. Worth watching !! You will fall in love with Turkey.❤❤❤❤❤
Erdal Beşikcioglu (Behzat Ç.) quit acting in real life and became the head of one of the districts in the capital of Turkey. He is now a politician. (it is just some info.)
In the world of AL and CGI , in contrast Turkish TV serials or movies have a lot to offer; culture, sensibility, moral ground, autentic settings, story lines . Being presented by very exciting story line and excellent quality of acting is a huge bonus.
They’re all like jlos romantic movies😂 and to be honest, they’re actually hallmark movies like. Just with more likable actors and a bit of depth of the story, that’s all. All of the enthusiasm about them is sexual attraction. I’m as a Turkish man, numerous times had to deal with questions about the guys on those shows. Gosh I know only a few so I was quite surprised that especially Hispanic people love them. Not to mention Asian guys find our girls very attractive. So all the attention is for fantasies 😂
Ezel is amazing. I am Turkish but grew up internationally outside the nation so never got into the dramas too much - but this is the one I watched even repeatedly. The plot is mysterious and dramatic, the soundtrack is chilling, and some of the characters became a cultural classic. There is one akin to Uncle Iroh from Avatar Last Airbender, a philosophical old mafia boss with an emotional backstory. I recommend it to everyone.

I've only been watching the dizi's for about a year and a half (I'm a 70+ year old Alaskan resident). I really enjoy them and are much better if it's being translated correctly AND you gotta like DRAMA, LOTS AND LOTS OF DRAMA AND CONFRONTATIONS. They can get you worked up emotionally too . Many are serials and rarely have the ugly language and nude scenes that tend to be a part of American movies now.
Your state is spectacular! I was fortunate enough to visit Alaska three times in winter. Watching some intense Northern Lights in the Fairbanks was a surreal experience. By the way, my favorite dizi is "Magnificent Century", particularly its first 83 episodes. They are all available with English subtitles on the RUclips channel "Magnificent Century". The soundtrack is particularly superb.
This is not surprising. Turkish dramas are popular (and have been so) in the Arab World for over a decade. The two main sources of entertainment in terms of drama series in the Arab World come from either Egypt or Turkey.
I was obsessed with Dirilis Ertugrul. It’s such a good show. A little long, but good. I even went to Turkey and tried to buy Ertugrul merchandise. Unfortunately at the time, they didn’t have an Ertugrul Store. Not sure if they even have one now. I’m so used to everything in the US being so commercialized. Good for Turkey!
ahahaha that is so odd for me that for you to have an expectation of an Ertugrul Store :D But ill tell them to open one its a great idea. And watch Ezel if you want to see something with good script
There are stores like this these days and you can also order online. My uncle has some Ertugrul clothes and a sword and he would watch the series wearing them with the sword in his hand. I used to laugh and make fun of him but then he bought a horse and now he watches it in his garden riding his horse.🤣🤣
Watch this turkish drama : Erkenci Kuş ( Daydreamer). It is a very beautiful romantic and romantic comedy drama. you will instantly fall in love with the characters in this tv series.
I think you hit the nail on the head. Most Hollywood movies are too mechanical, you can't see/feel the human element that much. Their conversations are like happening between robots. In contrast, Turkish dramas embrace you, you can feel the human element, they grab you with their emotional content, you feel part of the scene.
I switched to Turkish shows because the content from western media was filled with nudity explicit content that made me uncomfortable. They don't make movies like Jumanji, home alone anymore. It's just filth. Once I did the switch before I knew it I was done with 5 seasons of Ertugrul. There's no going back 😂 So grateful to Pakistani media also for dubbing it in Urdu. My current obsession is Salahuddin Ayubi It's so good 😭😭
I would absolutely recommend "Ezel" and "Içerde" who wants to find out why Turkish series are popular. But of course watch it in Turkish dub and English sub. Enjoy

My childhood was in the 90s, I watched Latin American soap operas in Russian (our TV channels did not translate back then), that's how I learned Russian. But Latin American soap operas disappeared in the early 2000s and were replaced by Turkish ones.

Turkey culture is blend of west and east fusion that's why its watching audience is automatically high
Sorry it’s not a blend, Turkish culture is Asian, from Central Asia precisely;)
Not a blend. It has Turkish characteristic literally but using an adaptation to the World. Similar to the case of Japanese and Korean cultures using an adaptation to the World.
I watched feriha with my mother when i was a kid..it was so nice and i was so happy to understand some words from Turkish language...

I love Turkey so much! Turkiye has always been the East of the West and the West of the East. it's so exotic💙
I have a columbian friend Javier , he says people are watching them with holding swords 🙃, he stops gaving me spanish lessons when the serials stars
These shows have substance! Whereas the shows from the west are all too focused on pushing out "hidden messages" 🙄🙄

Substance? Is repeating the same love story "substance" to you?

in the series you also see how diverse Turkish looks are and it is indeed representative for the entire Turkish population. We have Eastern Asian looking Turks, we have Turks looking llike Middle Easterns, we have Turks being pale and fair haired with bright colored eyes. Turkey has them all and Im especially proud of this.
Very true....which makes Turkey the ultimate "melting pot".
turkish population become diverse over centuries one can see European looking turks , middle eastern looking etc
and Afro-Turks
Men are men and women are women, good stories and families. 😊
Disney Plus, Amazon Prime and Netflix broadcast even the oldest Turkish TV series all over the world.
Since i have been watching Turkish Dramas i am totally addicted, i can't hardly watch English or American movies now, I find the acting doesn't get any better than the Turkish artists, they are amazing. The stories are compelling to watch. The Turkish directors understand what the people enjoy and they really know how to cast their movie actors with beautiful and talented people at the forfront.

greek opinion before turkish dramas "turks look like asians from mongolia"
after turkish dramas "they are whiter than us"
Turkey is inheritor of some great empires(a couple of them actually).
This sounds like a Turk’s opinion of what they imagine the Greek opinion to be.
We are the same, brother. Only we are Trojans and you are Spartans.
@@SerkanC-c8l We are not Trojans, we are Turks, simple is that.
Trojans are also Greeks, so be mindful about that.

Man, I’m praying that the series Behzat Ç lands in India and kicks those lame Indian series away....

In the world of AL and CGI , in contrast Turkish TV serials or movies have a lot to offer; culture, sensibility, moral ground, autentic settings, story lines . Being presented by very exciting story line and excellent quality of acting is a huge bonus.

America has no orginal idea and turkey gives something new
Funny thing is, Turkish shows are all copy paste and filler episodes. Just as bad as Hollywood.
@@racheljacob8600 Lol. No they don’t.
Something new I am Turkish and our series all of them about there is a poor girl who trying to catch rich man’s attention
From Turkiye, they are not and i cant understand why people like them to much :)
I can't lie Turks are in another level Allahuma Barik ❤❤😊
"Ezel" everyone should definitely watch "ezel" It was one of the best.
@@sarpsayslikening Dayı to Uncle Iroh is a great way to introduce the character to the people in more ways than I first thought. Great job!

I am from Canada, converted to Islam 13 years ago, and I was planning to move to Turkey after watching Ertugrul! Still thinking about it, but after seeing the economy not being good, rent going up in Turkeye and Turkish people struggling to rent, I am now reconsidering.
mashallah sister! Rent is indeed a bit troublesome. Yet general cost of living is at least stabilizing if not getting better. But if you have a dream, follow it. Things will sort themselves out. You can always move back to your home country anytime you want
Hey sister,I congratulate you on your best decision of your life❤I recommend you to consider moving to Bursa. It's the 4th biggest city in Turkiye, called "green Bursa",the firts capital of Ottoman Empire so blended with both history and natural beauty. You can find many many religious meetings to attend and cost of living has a large range here;Bursa hosts people from many different economic back ground.
Thank you for your opinions about Türkiye and I congratulate you!

Dirilis Ertugrul is a must watch. It’s clean and wholesome. A must watch for families ❤
Rich content and genuine storylines ,that's what make them successful.
Dizi is a Life Style for Turkish people.
I started watching Turkish TV shows in 2018 and I was like where have they been all my life! The men are super hot. The shows are super emotional and written many times by women so it’s very female centric. But they’re very high-quality and the acting is brilliant. I definitely think America needs to translate more of them, and make them more mainstream here

The first drama I’ve watched is Black Money Love, I’ve been hooked ever since watched so many. Directors actors producers to me are the best ever, besides the everyday family drama you get to visit this amazing historical place. The people are so beautiful and talented. One day I’ll be visiting. In the meantime I’ll continue to watch. Thank you. One more thing, most storylines are original. From USA I’m also learning the language.
It also doesn't hurt that the popular actors and actresses are usually stunningly beautiful.
Kıvanç Tatlıtuğ | Engin Öztürk | Can Yaman | Burak Çelik | Birce Akalay | Melisa Asli Yazıcı | Miray Daner | Sıla Türkoğlu
I can say we have more beautiful and handsome actresses and actors and you don't know them. We mostly find the people you count ordinary except Kıvanç Tatlıtuğ. We had Sanem Çelik, Ece Uslu, Aydan Şener, Berna Laçin, Hande Ataizi, etc. in the past, they are really beautiful.
Kenan İmirzalıoğlu
Cansu Dere
Tayyip Erdoğan
Turks are mostly beautiful, Greeks look the same 😂
I've been watching turkisk dramas since 2009 before it became popular , I guess what it makes popular is the fact that turkisk actors are good looking in the screen and good acting as well, they have the adian culture but they have the European looks

Yes if you see it, you will love Turkish drama.
It has been like that for the last 5-10 years. Turkish dramas replace the Telenovelas.
