Even if you don't review it, just for your own entertainment... watch the concert film "Stop Making Sense" by the Talking Heads. Beautifully filmed with great audio, the band is in peak form and no true music fan could be anything but impressed.
Nice! This dropped when I was 16. When you're ready for more from Talking Heads, check out some of these classics -- "Pulled Up", "Psycho Killer", "Take Me To The River", "Life During Wartime", "Once In A Lifetime", "Born Under Punches", "Girlfriend Is Better", "Stay Up Late", "Road To Nowhere", "And She Was", "Nothing But Flowers", ...
The lead singer went to a rap concert and kept on hearing "burning down the house" so he thought he would make a great song that everyone likes or loves.
"Take Me To The River", "This Must Be The Place", and "Once In A Lifetime" are my top 3, AFTER "Burning Down The House", of course! Keep exploring Talking Heads, they have a great catalog! Thanks for another great reaction, JM! ✌💙✌
Talking Heads, one of the greatest bands of the 80's. Used to use "Burning Down The House" as a demo song in the A/V store where I worked. When the drums kicked in, people's faces would light up, especially when played on some good loudspeakers. Got to see TH on their "Speaking In Tongues" tour, about a month before they filmed "Stop Making Sense". An amazing evening of music.
Those people born in the late forty's early fifty's grew up with Rock N Roll/Electrified Music played on radio stations. We have heard it all and understand that each generation has their own style/type of music they grew up with creating a generational difference in the music we like more or less. It is a natural process that continues as long as there are new generations of people.... a long time. Not that the music is any better or worse, just different, for what that's worth.
Definitely see Stop Making Sense, had no idea his backup band was Tom Tom Club, was into them separately. In the movie he introduces them and leaves the stage, imagine my reaction lol. I don’t know how often Tom Tom Club backed him up but they are another interesting band
Love it!! The technology seems a little hokey in 2024, but this was pretty cool in its time, the rise of the synthesizer. And it is very forsightful as will soon be evident to the world 😊
So you got the Talking Heads most popular song but I wouldn't put it in their top ten greatest songs, their best music came before Burning Down the House
Don't you just hate it when you want to see the end of the video but there's all these popups obscuring David Byrne's projected head? You need an adblocker if you want the full experience. (Even then you have to actually manually block the rectangles!)

I second this recommendation!! Excellent show!
Yes! Filmed by Jonathan Demme.
I concur
Agreed... A MUST see! 👀
Another major rabbit hole. One of the most innovative bands in rock history.

"Take Me To The River" is another great recording by the Talking Heads....
Amazing next one: "Life During Wartime"....LIVE in concert!
One of the great things about the Talking Heads is that they put on a show as well as play good music. Their concerts are very visual.
“Stop making sense” is the greatest concert film ever made. Please give a listen. You’ll love it.

When I hear this song, it makes me think of the Revenge of the Nerds movie.
Me too 😂

What a super great band. This album is all around fantastic. Very , very good band. One of my all time favorites.
So fun to watch the Live versions (geniuses)😎❤🤙🎵
David Byrne scared the shit out of me when I was a kid. Then you had a Duran Duran video and things felt alright again. Haha.
Jmboy is getting into some 80s alternative
Great song, cool band! They have a very distinct sound, fun music! Next, check out And She Was, Wild Wild Life, and Road To Nowhere. ✌️
Dude your little laugh when they first started singing and the camera panned back is Hilarious ! It's like I could tell what you were thinking ! 😁

You need to react to Talking Heads “Life During Wartime” live version just to see how talented they truly are ❤
Best "Post-Punk" Band.

one of my fave 80s songs! ♥ Yer on a bit of an 80s kick of late 🤔
How could I not subscribe to such a beautiful smile? This song is also the bomb!
Great dance song back when I was in my 20s. Those were the days!

This song is literally 🔥 ( pun intended)
Another great reaction JM, should do a few from “Stop Making Sense” great live concert movie!
check out their official music video ONCE IN A LIFETIME, and AND SHE WAS.
MTV-RADIO SMASH.... nuf said
If I had a list of bands whose songs should be watched live, Talking Heads would be high on the list. Any other candidates?
Peter Gabriel
checkin in...
Try take me to the river live!!!
SMS - the movie!
NERDS! (Revenge of The Nerds)
You couldn't have a party in the mid 80s without this song playing 3-4 times. Same with school dances.
Funny that I didn't really like it then. Dumb.
💃

Curious... Who suggested this one?
Me.
@@michaelserrurier9392No, it was me! 🤣
