Nia entered with great energy and set the tone for the dance! It’s just that nia was miles behind in general for the first few seasons. She just wasn’t at their level and I think it’s unfair of Abby to put them in a trio. It’s very noticeable and it made nia look bad. Nia improved so so much and I think if she was given more techbicsl training and ballet training she could have gone much further
Looking back at this and I am so proud of how far Nia has come! This was a mess! But looking back, not only did Nia improve, but so did everyone else! Sadly, Abby couldn't see how much Chloe improved, she did nothing but target Chloe and put her down! I am so glad Christi took Chloe out! Chloe deserves better! I am so happy to see her actually enjoying dancing at Studio 19! Where they treat her with 110% Respect and actually work with her! :)
I feel like Chloe has the best stage presence in these jazz pieces, I couldn’t take my eyes off of her because of her beautiful lines, and the way that she set the tone of the dance in the beginning. I think Maddie is most eye-catching in lyrical pieces. This one in particular felt like she was just dancing. Chloe had the actual facial expressions.

This is still such an iconic, sassy number. I’m rewatching dance moms, and knowing that Nia only got less than half the rehearsal time for this trio as the other two girls, it explains why she was struggling to remember the choreo!! Imagine, if she’d have had the appropriate amount of practice she would’ve been right on par with Chloe and Maddie. Even as she fumbled the timing and forgot some of the steps, her sass and energy was higher than the other two girls for much of the dance! She was bringing that drag queen energy!! 🔥💅😤

I really do love Chloe. But in these more modern dances Maddie hits everything very sharply. So I think she did a little better. Chloe is a very tiny slender little girl while Maddie is more muscular, thus she is at the top of the pyramid more often.

Maddie messed up the spacing at times, Chloe was amazing, but I do think that Paige should have been in this trio. Paige just looks and dances better and lighter and Nia dances a little...heavy. But, I still love the girls. :D

she did set her up. pretty much she was testing Nia to see if she could keep up with Maddie and Chloe. She did the same thing to Kendall and Brooke. But Brooke could keep up with them so that kind of back fired on Abby lol. Every dancer on this show is excellent, and I love them all!

Nia and Mackenzie really are the best pair. Neither has graceful arms or a lot of elevation but are decent at acro. They're a good size difference for lifts. Plus they're both lefties. Really, there's no way Nia COULDN'T stand out next to Chloe and Maddie. They're not only at a different level, she doesn't have any of the same strengths and Nia dances best on her left side.
Rewatching this I actually think nia held her own and there were moments where she seemed to really be on top of it I think sometimes the show dramatizes the ability or disability of some girls
i just watched this episode a couple of hours ago nia messed up alot and she was late on almost everything and she was constantly looking at maddie....this would have been adorable with paige or even brooke
Why is everyone hating in nia? That was her first trio ever! She was a beep behind! Everyone makes mistakes and if you didn't make a mistake in a dance like she did then your not human. So don't hate on her! Shes a great dancer. The only reason shes not as perfect as the other girls is cuz Abby never gives her as much attention to her as to Maddie. This is to all the girls actually.
I don't think this was ready to compete. Really, although Nia's messing up was the most obvious, Chloe and Maddie did screw up at times, like when Chloe slipped on her jump and Maddie 'got stuck' on her illusion, and so on. They should redo this now that Nia has improved so much!

I love Nia, she keeps improving and I'm not hating on her. She just needs to clean up her movements.When dancing alone with just Maddie and Chloe who's skills go so amazing together and have such great technique, she sticks out like a sore thumb. Nia's skills just mesh much better with someone like Mackenzie. And in the group dances Nia just doesn't have the awareness that the other girls (minus Mackenzie) have. She can't feed off the others well and it results in timing and spacing issues.
She messed up a little other than that nia did great so stop!!! It's hard for a child to focus on school dance and the show so like its a lot of pressure
I literally don't get why everyone hates this trio so much. Dynamic choreography from Abby was so hard to come by, and this was as dynamic as it could get from her. Not to mention, all the mistakes the girls made were pretty on par with the level they were at throughout the entirety of season 2. I just don't get why, when you actually watch the full version of say...Where Have All the Children Gone, it was actually so sloppy timing wise (which is fine and not out of the ordinary for how they were dancing in season 1), yet everyone praises it. And then this dance, which is arguably cleaner than that, gets torn apart.
they are all amazing dancers. But your eyes automatically go to maddie. You can see her facial expressions all the way through the camera screen she is truly amazing

Maddie messed up the spacing at times, Chloe was amazing, but I do think that Paige should have been in this trio. Paige just looks and dances better and lighter and Nia dances a little...heavy. But, I still love the girls. :D

no, that's an edited version, chopped up. No episode of dance moms has EVER aired a full version of any of their dances.
@Broski651 You're totally right. She has a fierceness and attitude to her moves that make her better at these jazz dances than chloe and maddie who are more lyrical and graceful. If she was given more time to practice she would have been amazing !

she did set her up. pretty much she was testing Nia to see if she could keep up with Maddie and Chloe. She did the same thing to Kendall and Brooke. But Brooke could keep up with them so that kind of back fired on Abby lol. Every dancer on this show is excellent, and I love them all!
You can so see that Maddie is the Favourite. She is in the centre the hole dance. They still looked a bit off to, anyway they are better than I could ever do! 😀🐨👍
Alesha Murray plus she comes on 2nd so that she doesn’t have to worry about missing the start of the music but also is on stage for as long as possible😂

I wish they showed nia as more of a good Dancer I know she is I seen her dance in real life with other teachers being in the same class just is a wonderful dancer
Nia and Mackenzie really are the best pair. Neither has graceful arms or a lot of elevation but are decent at acro. They're a good size difference for lifts. Plus they're both lefties. Really, there's no way Nia COULDN'T stand out next to Chloe and Maddie. They're not only at a different level, she doesn't have any of the same strengths and Nia dances best on her left side.
Rewatching this I actually think nia held her own and there were moments where she seemed to really be on top of it I think sometimes the show dramatizes the ability or disability of some girls
you dont have to talk crap on the others just to compliment nia..
She didn't know the dance well enough to not be watching Maddie the whole time.
Why is everyone hating on Nia ? Its not her fault, she learned the dance like a day before because she replaced someone else.
i just watched this episode a couple of hours ago nia messed up alot and she was late on almost everything and she was constantly looking at maddie....this would have been adorable with paige or even brooke

Why is everyone hating in nia? That was her first trio ever! She was a beep behind! Everyone makes mistakes and if you didn't make a mistake in a dance like she did then your not human. So don't hate on her! Shes a great dancer. The only reason shes not as perfect as the other girls is cuz Abby never gives her as much attention to her as to Maddie. This is to all the girls actually.

I don't think this was ready to compete. Really, although Nia's messing up was the most obvious, Chloe and Maddie did screw up at times, like when Chloe slipped on her jump and Maddie 'got stuck' on her illusion, and so on. They should redo this now that Nia has improved so much!
Lol it wasn’t the fact that nia couldn’t do the moves she could. she just couldn’t keep up with Maddie and chloe they weren’t perfect either they were just in sync
I love Nia, she keeps improving and I'm not hating on her. She just needs to clean up her movements.When dancing alone with just Maddie and Chloe who's skills go so amazing together and have such great technique, she sticks out like a sore thumb.
Nia's skills just mesh much better with someone like Mackenzie. And in the group dances Nia just doesn't have the awareness that the other girls (minus Mackenzie) have. She can't feed off the others well and it results in timing and spacing issues.
She messed up a little other than that nia did great so stop!!! It's hard for a child to focus on school dance and the show so like its a lot of pressure
I literally don't get why everyone hates this trio so much.
Dynamic choreography from Abby was so hard to come by, and this was as dynamic as it could get from her. Not to mention, all the mistakes the girls made were pretty on par with the level they were at throughout the entirety of season 2.
I just don't get why, when you actually watch the full version of say...Where Have All the Children Gone, it was actually so sloppy timing wise (which is fine and not out of the ordinary for how they were dancing in season 1), yet everyone praises it.
And then this dance, which is arguably cleaner than that, gets torn apart.
Poor Nia, you could tell that sh was nervous and that those nerves really go to her.
they are all amazing dancers. But your eyes automatically go to maddie. You can see her facial expressions all the way through the camera screen she is truly amazing

Nia is just not used to dancing in a trio with Maddie and Chloe. This is just her first trio with them I think with a little more work Nia will be on fire. I am always routing for her!

Dancers do that sometime. Some judges knock off points for it, but not all.
