How to set up and use your Dyson V8™ cordless vacuum

- Getting started: How to set up and use, recharge, and empty your new Dyson V8 cord-free vacuum.
Please note, the colourway of your particular machine may vary from the one shown in the video, but the process for using it will be the same.
Some Dyson V8 models may include additional accessories not shown in the video - these will attach to your machine or wand in the same way as the standard Combination tool and Crevice tool.
1. Attach the wand to the bin assembly and attach the supplied main cleaner head (will vary depending on model).
2. To operate the max mode, locate the switch on the top of the appliance. Slide the switch to the Max mode position.
3. To switch off Max mode, slide the switch back to the Powerful suction mode position.
4. If your machine has a mini motorhead, it can provide the functionality of the main cleaner head but in hard to reach areas, such as your sofa.
5. Empty as soon as the dirt reaches the level of the MAX mark - do not overfill.
6. Pull the red lever upwards to release the cyclone. Continue until the bin base automatically open and releases the dirt.
7. Press the cyclone down fully. Close the bin base ensuring it clips shut.

My cousin works in high tech and in a meeting everyone was asked "What's been a game changer in your life?" She said "This may sound strange, but the Dyson vacuum." Everyone in the room who had one exclaimed "YES!" She said it's an actual pleasure to use and even her kids use it. She gifted us with one and I just tried it. Very easy and works great! just bought a Dyson (my parents did,their money their home)yesterday after visiting stores for 2days before purchasing. I'd seen it used by all these instagram RUclips influencers etc and seeing the prices initially i thought it's a high end product very expensive and i could never ask them to buy it/afford even if it's one time investment etc. but finally somehow price seemed feasible enough to buy at the moment and I'm very impressed . yet to use it at home but I'm sure it'll work well

V8 Runtimes:
Direct Drive Cleaner Head: 25 Mins - 7 mins on max
Fluffy and Mini Motörhead: 30 mins - 8 mins on max
Non motor tools: 40 minutes - 10 minutes on max
There needs to be more control for suction on these. If you have a low profile rug the suction is just too strong even on the low setting. As a result some of my rugs are damaged.

Hello, there is a problem with the holding of the machine. Mine and my wife's thumb have fraction to the holding area so very bad pain occur on the top of the thumb after 10 min of vacuuming. It could be solved by not being in need of pressing and holding the power button at all times

Got mine today. Only comes with the first two heads...third one not included...the one that gets into the couch and random edge places. Reading after a few months it'll scratch my floorboards...unsure whether I made a good decision.

Do you have to use the docking station to charge it or can you just plug it in? I live in an apartment and am unsure if I will be able to mount the docking station to the wall.
Hi there Kia, it does not have to be plugged into the docking station, it can just be plugged into the charger like a standard appliance.
The compartment does not open to empty, pulling the red leaver pulls the whole motor outward, my V8 just purchased from T.S.C in February, what can I do, Who should I Call?

The sounds which comes from Dyson vacuum is normal ?
We bought V10 cyclone, and I am using it about 10 month, and 1 month ago it has problems (turning off while i used) so the technical services fixed the trigger and changed the filter but after that our vacuum has this sounds like in video, before it was different. Is it normal ? Or maybe someone else has this problem?
I don’t expect the magic from Dyson Vacuum, but for this price i thought that it shouldn't be breaking so often and in that short time.

Mine showed a blinking red light when charging so I unplugged it and plugged it back in and now it’s back to blinking blue lights. Does that mean my batteries going bad?

I have a v8 but we did not use the wall dock and it did not come with the motor head but i use the normal tool without the wand

The attachments have almost no suction. Why. Won't pick up even 1 piece of cat litter.

Mine started smoking then the brush stopped spinning no there's a red light on only used it five times and two charge cycles

Don't buy this hoover to hoover your house. you will be frustrated, very frustrated.
1) the 'wall holster' only holds 3 tools it comes with 6! so the other three have to lay around or Dyson support recommend “putting them in a draw…” but why make half a wall holder in the first place?
2) it takes 2 days to hoover your house, the charge lasts for less than 10 minutes!!! good luck speed cleaning your house in that time - you can have a 5 hour rest though whilst you wait for it to recharge.
3) the 'exhaust; blows air out near the handle... so often if used with the short fitting the exhaust blows all the dust away before you get to it!!!
4) Dyson support said "get a toothbrush and a tooth pick" to clean the various filters - yes really - otherwise it doesn't pick anything up. so get a good toothbrush as you'll need to clean the hoover inside and out at LEAST every month... washing the filter… and drying it, more time to relax and think about hoovering tomorrow.
5) to extend charging - get another battery - Dyson support advise to "remove the 3 screws holding the battery in place... and get another battery" - so you get double the hoovering time, double the charge time too (10 hours) I have done this and now the battery falls out every time I use it... I guess it's another 'feature' feels a bit unsafe though having a heavy battery falling out every time you pick it up... not sure about Health and Safety - but it was recommended by Dyson...
So buy this for hoovering crumbs off the table and little things - not a whole house hoover - it is underperforming, under powered and over priced.
A very expensive disappointment.
The battery should last more than 10 minutes you aren’t meant to use max mode for normal cleaning
@@crownjulesgaming542 The max mode is what makes this vaccum better than others. In normal mode, it's just like any other less expensive unit.
@@pascaltrahan I can’t say for V8s much, but a lot of the more recent Dyson cordless vacuums are very much high up on the chart for performance. Even on the low power modes, they have high runtimes and good suction and this makes them an appealing option.
@@crownjulesgaming542 pretty true! Many people have said they can't even move the machine on normal mode on some carpets I'm talking about the v10 and above btw

My friend said this is great for people with pets and I tried to vacuum my cat but it scared the sh*t out of her! I do not recommend using this on animals. My cat won't even look at me anymore.

The battery autonomy of this Dyson is a joke. Impossible to clean a 1 bedroom small appartment with one charge. Dyson should state that this model is not good for house chores. It is only good for occasional use. Very disappointed to have paid so much.
I cleaned my three bedroom apartment (1800 sq ft) without any battery problems. If you have are having issues then your unit might be faulty. Check with Dyson

you dont always need to use max mode just go with the normal its enough
@@xiomuki9228 To me the max mode is what makes Dyson stand out compared to most other vaccums. In normal mode, nothing special about it and not worth paying so much... If this model could be used while with a power cord as well, I would not complain. Short battery autonomy is definitely the down side of this one. Sorry to offend the Dyson worshippers, but this product could be better.
I bought mine yesterday. I fully charged it last night. Today I was able to vacuum my kitchen and hallway before the charge was completely gone. I'm going to charge it again and see if I can get more done on the low setting. To be honest, I am so very disappointed in this product. It vacuums very well, but why pay so much when you need two days to vaccum your home. I will likely return this product tomorrow.

Yo my house is massive and this thing only lasts 20 minutes. It’s great but the battery life is ass. Perfect for a dorm room. Definitely not feasible for a 300 square foot house.

I positively dislike this product. Battery failed, I got treated like I was a criminal when I complained, battery got replaced(or whatever it was they did), and 30 uses later it starts losing power again. BS product. Do not buy it.Not worth the hassle.

Dyson are overpriced and poorly built . Mine lasted only 2.5 years at normal use. I find all I know are not fans of 4 figure priced stick

Absolute garbage. My V8 cost over £300. The canister is far too small yet it's supposed to be good for pet hair. You have to go in with a long cocktail stick or similar to tease out anything that isn't fine dust and even when you start hoovering again it stops after about 30 seconds because it's clogged up again. The stupid filter keeps falling out of the top. I lost patience with mine and stopped using it. Picked it up again today as I thought I'd use it to clean out the car but the damn thing won't charge. The blue light comes on but goes out after a minute. If it's because the internal battery is dead that is pathetic as I hardly used the machine and certainly won't buy another piece of Dyson junk.

Dyson is a big corporation that does not care about the environment. They produce cheap products that break just after warranty is expired. I purchased a vacuumed and the battery died 6 month after the two year warranty expired. They offered nothing and I could not even buy a new battery.
