Late night, couple of beers... thinking about some things that are done, and some that never will be... this song is worth a thousands of worlds in this moment
Great Photo of Mark whoever shot it nice work ! I met Mark once in the early 90's in a bar in a small small town in central Mass he was the nicest guy , so gifted yet so humble and approachable , he gave me the time of day and made me feel like i mattered at that moment, i have never forgotten that . RIP Mark Sandman.
Morphine redefined music in the 90's. They in effect created a style that has never been replicated. It was original. I dare say beyond the scope of alternative music in a time when alternative music was the norm. Sandman and Morphine are a gem. A diamond in the rough in it's lyrical policies . I have many a drunken night and sober day been caught singing....oh I'm so interesting I'm so great but I'm really just a fuck up and such a waste. The amount of creativity borne of Sandman and his impact on music should never be forgotten
I feel three bands in the 90"s achieved this: Morphine......Primus (who are big fans of Morphine and had Dana Colley play live on stage with them)......and My Bloody Valentine. The Night, Pork Soda and Loveless are the three BEST albums of that decade and three of the best albums of all time.
I spent half my afternoon sitting at a stop sign...it's the heart and mind of magical poetry. I know all his words and treasure them. " It's really such a beautiful life"❤
Whenever I feel down and not too satisfied with how things are going for me, how i want everything now, i just tune in to this song and get back on track... :)
throughout all the hard times in life, great music has always been there to help me through.I cant even describe into words the emotions I feel when listening to this. From one libra to another. Thanks Mark
Dana Colley is Libra too... Sandman was right on the Virgo cusp--my sign... the first band i ever saw live-1997, in Phoenix... my ears left ringing... Stevie Ray Vaughan and Sandman had a weird connection: notice Morphine got going just as Vaughan died--he was two years younger-both Libras with Sagittarius Moon-and died 9 years earlier-1990, & '99... Vaughan's whole life contained within Sandman's... I almost feel like Mark absorbed Stevie's energy... maybe it was an energy too big to contain... i've noticed many Elephant connections with Libras... the saxophone has always reminded me of the sound of elephants... the ex singer of my band, Geeks with Charvels, Wes, is Libra, and on several occasions shrieked "ELEPHANT!!!" into the mic repeatedly...
I spent all day yesterday watchin the grass grow What I learned is: the grass really grows slow Now that I know, there's a reason for me to stay I wanna wish I never heard you say, "Have patience, everything will be alright Have patience, give it just a little time Everything will be alright." I've spent half my afternoon sittin at a stop sign Thinkin about how good you look, even when you're lyin Then I lost my car in a parking lot I bought a newspaper and I decided to walk You said, "Have patience, everything will be alright, Have patience, give it just a little time Everything will be alright." I've spent all day long just listenin to the doorbell ring Must've been a Sunday, I could hear the choir sing Down in the graveyard they're listenin to the underground They're the only ones that ever learned to calm down Patience, everything will be alright Have patience, it's really such a beautiful life Everything will be alright Everything will be alright Everything will be a-- Everything will be alright
It's when you call the number of someone you've lost, you hear the message, yeah, you know, you know. In a way it's the same for me with Mark, I come back and check-in. Such a unique talent, he might have ended up with a podcast, and you know, I could dig that.
@bostonrockgrrl Marc didn't fool around with drugs---he was a heavy smoker, and got stabbed in the chest, both of which contributed to a lung collapse.
