The instruction manual says not to plug in or remove the flash drive while the device is turned on.. I'm not sure how important that is, I just wanted to point it out.
I had a similar problem, so I just asked a friend to borrow the oldest, smallest old USB they may have had in a junk drower. It was only a 512 mb one, it worked fine for me. The newer USBs did not work for me.
Written instructions: Put the BIN file in root folder on a USB, with unit off plug in the USB, then hold MENU button down while powering up, wait for it to finish about 40 seconds and that's it. Be sure to do a "factory reset" after. The obious caveats apply, don't unplug or lose power during flashing, or you'll brick it. The procedure erases everything so save your instruments, kits that you love best to USB first. Don't update firmware if it's already the current version. Good luck in all!
Very good... it works perfectly. Thank you.
Why should I update it what does it improve?
Excellent tutorial. Thank you.

@@FreeTim3 - Can you be more specific on models? I am trying all types of stick and no success...
I think you forgot to do the factory reset there.
