People are confusing Best Soundtrack with Best Score. As a soundtrack it's great. I listen to it everyday. As a score, it didn't even deserve to be nominated, let alone win.
Bottom line: Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross created one of the most musically, artistically and aesthetically significant soundtracks of recent years; and for Trent Reznor it signifies that progressively over time he continues to define your ideal quinessential perfectionist.
@StayGoldDallybear Thanks, the search of "The sound of violence" in youtube lead me to an awesome classious video I've never seen and blew my mind. I found out that the name of the song is without the "the", it's just "sound of violence". So thanks for both things!
@gs8411 Same movie directors, different music directors. Dust Brothers is credited for Fight Club, Trent Reznor and Atticus are credited for Social Network.
@BadSeccc No, a remix for Closer was used in the opening credits. He never made any music specifically FOR the film, Fincher (or whoever was doing the music) decided to put that song in there.
Guau! Lo primero que me impactó al sentarme en el cine y comenzar la película: la música es de Trent Reznor. También flipé con la Soundtrack de Fight Club. Total!!! Y vivan los Pixies.
I'm looking forward to "The Social Network" for many things....David Fincher and Trent Reznor reunite. Note: David Fincher directed the "Only" music video for Trent.
does anybody knows if the song of the part that Zuckerberg and Parker are on a nightclub is from Reznor also? The "this is our time" part. That music sounded great.
@CasualDiscussion and this is?I don't mean to sound condescending, or to imply that your opinion isnt valid. But I just don't understand what you mean by "like every other score". Inception used pounding brass, incredibly unique synth sounds the likes of which haven't been used since blade runner, and it had compelling electric guitar/string elements which helped support and flesh out the melodies. TSN OST seems to be mostly groovy beats and synth soundscapes..very common in tv scoring actually
@kaosjm sorry to hear about your bro... and for personal issues such as that, there should be a more solid form of contact between siblings. im not familiar with vlogs, i just like to find old footage or listen to songs i havent heard in a while. i would say 96 percent of those on FB just want people to be interested in them and there lives, the rest i guess are looking to stay in touch with family or friends cause a phone call would be too much effort. We can go back and forth about it all day
I know I screwed up the titles to "Zodiac" and "Se7en" sorry guys. Every time I hear this song it really takes me back to seeing this movie for the first time. Man... what a great film and soundtrack. great acting, great directing, GREAT EVERYTHING!!!! winklevi actor for Best Supporting Actor confirmed.
@CasualDiscussion *sigh* I feel bad for all these Zimmer bashers. His scores are incredible! You're entitled to your opinion, but just because in certain scores he uses similar instrumentation does not mean they're all the same. That's like saying "all of beethovens music is the same because he used a classical orchestra" Listen to the inception soundtrack, then listen to the holiday soundtrack, then to gladiator (all by zimmer) and THEN say that statement again.
3 people are still looking for pieces to form their whole opinion on what transcendent music really sounds like...for those tired of wandering through the vast, empty vacuum alone forever trapped between two white ear-buds clinging to "The Downward Spiral", here is the next step...
Maybe it won because Inception was an orchestrated type score, nothing original. This was completely modern and original and was a really good score imo, still having said that - why didn't The Social Network win best picture or director as it was more original then The generic King's Speech?
@S4BIO it can be time-wasting but Mark Zuckerberg is still a genius for creating it and providing something which has captured the imaginations of BILLIONS.

this music clears my soul! it makes me feel so good inside! i cant describe it
I first watched The social network because Trent did the soundtrack, turned out that the movie was EXCELLENT (and the soundtrack as well ) !
everyone who has played parkour fortress before they watched this movie had their eyes soooo wide open, i did.
Musically ,anything Trent touches turns to gold in my most humbled of humblest opinions.
it's been almost a year since this album won best soundtrack and I love am enjoying the album soo much while studying. It deserved the Oscar
This is my favorite!!! I am
Awesome, i wouldn't expect any less from the two.
tbh trent's music will be the only reason why i want to see this movie. sounds tight.
Beautiful.
TRENT JUST WON A GOLDEN GLOBE.....i knew he would!!!
This. This is the man for soundtracks now.
I'd love to see him play this and NiN stuff live...
Exelent ! Trent Rules the WORLD !

Awesome movie, nice soundtrack, I did not expect that ending where everybody died.
@StayGoldDallybear Thanks, the search of "The sound of violence" in youtube lead me to an awesome classious video I've never seen and blew my mind. I found out that the name of the song is without the "the", it's just "sound of violence". So thanks for both things!
listening to the whole soundtrack "one last time" !
"Your best friend is suing you for $600M."
I LOVE this soundtrack!! Thanks for posting! :)
@gs8411 Same movie directors, different music directors. Dust Brothers is credited for Fight Club, Trent Reznor and Atticus are credited for Social Network.
This is the track is was looking for from the PBS Ken Burns Vietnam War documentary score. Just brilliant.
So this music was from the Social Network.... I heard this on Parkour Fortress on TF2 and enjoyed it.
@BadSeccc No, a remix for Closer was used in the opening credits. He never made any music specifically FOR the film, Fincher (or whoever was doing the music) decided to put that song in there.
This is my favorite!!!
In my opinion, a very powerful song for a movie score. I like it.
The music surprisingly fits the movie perfectly.
Sooooo GHOSTS-like! Love it ;)
Great Soundtrack
Fight club and The social network are david fincher's two best films, true cinematic masterpieces
now everytime I enter my college campus (Uof I) I think of this song on my way to class! I try to imagine what it might have been like at Harvard...
WOW!!!!!!!
@ahvostik BTW, Reznor also made some music for Fincher's 7even, but he was not credited. :)
David Fincher directed Fight Club, The Zodiac, 7even, and The Game.
Trent Reznor is the perfect match. :)
That was a great movie, but an amazing soundtrack by Trent Reznor!
I love trent reznor and mike patton. god or satan bless you guys!!
Saw 'em both at a NIN Gig in Milan. Tomahawk opened for them. Man,Patton is a very nice dude with the audience,friendly and ironic. I loved him
Guau! Lo primero que me impactó al sentarme en el cine y comenzar la película: la música es de Trent Reznor. También flipé con la Soundtrack de Fight Club. Total!!! Y vivan los Pixies.
They better give Trent the Oscar!
I'm looking forward to "The Social Network" for many things....David Fincher and Trent Reznor reunite. Note: David Fincher directed the "Only" music video for Trent.
@Bulacanos lol, you kinda just brightened my life.
@midgetmister003 Trent Reznor is from NIN
@skateNappreciate This is what I tell people when I leave the theatre.
@hongquiao It's called "Magnetic". Perfect title, if you ask me.
Спасибо
@SetoKaiba182 i completely forgot and i just watched it this friday lol
Happy Birthday Atticus Ross (January 16)
does anybody knows if the song of the part that Zuckerberg and Parker are on a nightclub is from Reznor also? The "this is our time" part. That music sounded great.
Parkour Fortress used the SN soundtrack... O.K...
@mikestibor1 The Oscars are the most prestigous American film making awards... I think they do matter.
@myboomstick me, too!
@CasualDiscussion and this is?I don't mean to sound condescending, or to imply that your opinion isnt valid. But I just don't understand what you mean by "like every other score". Can anyone tell me in what scene was this song played during the movie?
@mhaze210 I hope he wins academy and then.... EGOT lol will have to wait for Yr Zero for that
@myboomstick The soundtrack worked so well for this movie. But believe me it's a lot more interesting than you think. Fincher's masterpiece.
@kaosjm sorry to hear about your bro... and for personal issues such as that, there should be a more solid form of contact between siblings. im not familiar with vlogs, i just like to find old footage or listen to songs i havent heard in a while. i would say 96 percent of those on FB just want people to be interested in them and there lives, the rest i guess are looking to stay in touch with family or friends cause a phone call would be too much effort. maybe there's an unknown movie about a convenience store called 7eleven... he'd still be misspelling it, but it's still possible.
@Bulacanos thanks mate... I've been having a terrible time and your comment made me laugh :)
Wat was the music running when Mark meets Sean Parker at the hotel for the first time?
Been looking for it for long
Magnetic: ruclips.net/video/qibx62koZr8/видео.html
@Anjohl you're complaining about trent reznor's promotion and relationship to technology? do you know who trent reznor is?
This is like what it would sound like if Mirror's Edge and The Sims had a baby.
@myboomstick IT"s AWESOME FOR TRENT but the movie is awesome as well but Trent makes this movie EPIC
@ahvostik They spell it Se7en, not 7even.. but whatever
@ahvostik And it's not "7even" it's just Seven, or se7en
@myboomstick word... Was pretty sick of seeing the previews until hearing some of these tracks and reading actual reviews of the film.
I use this study
@maabreu1 I think Inception should have won as well, but it doesn't really matter. The Oscars don't mean anything.
@Anjohl i agree but hey, atleast we got some awesome music out of him
@mikestibor1
I think you're confusing what a score is meant to do, and the physical evidence of what a score symbolizes.
I know I screwed up the titles to "Zodiac" and "Se7en"
sorry guys.
Every time I hear this song it really takes me back to seeing this movie for the first time. Man... what a great film and soundtrack.
great acting, great directing, GREAT EVERYTHING!!!!

what's the song that plays during "the seanathon"
it's an electronic rendition of "In the Hall of the mountain king"
@ahvostik Millions, not Billions..
3 people are still looking for pieces to form their whole opinion on what transcendent music really sounds like...for those tired of wandering through the vast, empty vacuum alone forever trapped between two white ear-buds clinging to "The Downward Spiral", here is the next step...
@ahvostik I think its just Zodiac ;)
@MaghoxFr "The Sound Of Violence"
@rpp644 I think is every hardcore NIN fan's opinion. Certainly mine. I don't mean to sound like a hipster. XP
@mikestibor1 Im with you there. I think Inception had the best score
@fallen2894 @midgetmister003 Well, I would say actually, Trent Reznor IS Nine Inch Nails.
Maybe it won because Inception was an orchestrated type score, nothing original. This was completely modern and original and was a really good score imo, still having said that - why didn't The Social Network win best picture or director as it was more original then The generic King's Speech?
@GreenyBaby87 don't worry... it gets much more interesting after you lose.
I think he means 7eleven
brilliant >> but what new its trent
Hmm... Pieces Form The Whole? or Hand Covers Bruise?
@Bulacanos me neither dude
@S4BIO i don't think you know what the movie is really about... Probably don't even know who David Fincher is.
It's sound a bit like Sim City 2000 in slow-mo
"well actually eduardo did die a little on the inside when he found out he only owned about 3% of facebook
His brother's the bad guy in the end.
@S4BIO it can be time-wasting but Mark Zuckerberg is still a genius for creating it and providing something which has captured the imaginations of BILLIONS.
@myboomstick
awesome music as expected from trent but couldnt he have just spent those 8 months making a ghosts sequel instead...
@ahvostik I just lost the game.

The Battlefield 3 soundtrack reminds me a lot of this! :)
Am I the only one who is thinking "chip" and "commodore-64" ?
@kaosjm you tube provides useful and entertaining content...facebook provides a false sense of companionship and attention for the needy.
This sounds a little like Sims
Everything Trent has done is gold except for How to Kill Angels which sucks donkey logs.
Vote up on this comment if u found these song from watching Attack of the Show.
